I have not seen tracer ammunition on the market in years so this should be a real find. As best as I can tell this is a batch of Military contract over run .223 caliber tracer ammunition that Federal federal has boxed under their American Eagle line, for commercial sell. The boxes are labeled American Eagle Tactical Tracer XM856 Each box contains 20 rounds of 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition with a 64 grain full metal jacket orange tipped tracer bullet.
This L.C. Head Stamped ( Lake City ) M856, tactical tracer ammo is made to military specifications by Federal Cartridge.
As I said I believe this is military contract over run and therefore it is newly manufactured ammunition. Tracer ammo leaves a phosphorous color trail that tracks the bullet to the target. Caution must be used in firing tracer ammunition as it had some incendiary properties and can cause fires under dry windy conditions.
This stuff is awesome fun to shoot especially in low light conditions. Very Limited supply... Stock up now
