Out of the box, no cleaning, I ran 250 rounds, No jams no stove pipes. I was very impressed. Shot one group at 1.5 inches at 10 yards. I like the solid feel metal, and the grips are great. As far as quality a thumbs up to Arcus. Fine weapon worth more than the asking price.
Outstanding!

When I say outstanding I’m understating the Arcus. So that said, WOW, this thing is built like a tank all steel and built to last. I have now bought both the Arcus 98DA all black & 98DAC two-tone. The balance of both are very nice, the sights are ok, and have now put 300 rounds of different ammo through each with zero problems.

Trigger pull on both the 98DA & 98DAC is just right, nice and easy but firm enough not to discharge the weapon unintentionally. Now for note: the double action is a bit harder to pull but most shooters will never use this feature.

Accuracy of the Arcus out of the box, I’m still at awe. 1st Mag on the 98DAC 7 out of 13 rounds at 40ft hit the 8” target, 1st Mag out of the 98DA 8 out of the 15 rounds hit the 8” target. A couple of cleanings and more rounds accuracy even got better.

Fit and feel is very correct. My wife loves the 98DAC and I like the 98DA. Very little recoil from either. The 98DAC is aprox ¾ inch shorter in length and ½ inch shorter grip than the 98DA. They both have a very nice rubber like factory grip. Simply they feel good in your hand.

These both came in some very cool boxes you don’t see theses days, included are two mags, cleaning rod tool and instruction book. The ease of taking these 98’s apart to clean is amazing, no kidding it takes less than a 60 seconds to break it down to clean.

Classic firearms Is one of the best at communication, service and speed of shipping quality firearms in today’s market. I’m very pleased with them and like the Arcus 98DA and 98DAC I highly recommend.

FYI: Get your 98 before they are gone!
Great gun for money.

I want Hi power but did want rob bank owen one. I like fact Arcus 98DA double action handgun allows me shoot with hammer down on live round well allow me care cocked locked. I like fact that guns p+rate well allow me shot all kind modern hollow points in it. There price which can not beat for what you get brand new gun never been used or abused. It may not be as pretty HI power but does job as well as HI power some thing better than what Hi Power can do. In all I have been very happy owen one.

I reviewed this pistol earlier in 2013 and wanted to add an update. The finish is still poor not has not deteriorated further so I'm Ok with it. I have now put around 1000 rounds through it and it just keeps getting better, smoother and tighter groups. I still have the Ruger, I bought a Beretta FS looking for an improvement, The Arcas comes out on top EVERY time! Being Ex Brit military I probably lean towards Browning copies but Im really enjoying this 9mm
Good Pistol Bad Instructions
Review by Salzhund on 12/28/13

good looking pistol well balanced but instructions for taking pistol apart is not good information it says to pull slide back engage safety then push slide lock out from right. tried doing that would not budge so I thought ok new pistol it is just really well put together pried it out then realized you had to push slide lock up then push from right so I bent and tore the metal where the slide lock sits and had to hammer it down a little for the slide lock to sit and allow the slide to go forward again nothing against classicfirearms.com but the company needs to specify about the slide lock other then that great pistol going to shoot it tomorrow. ill post video tomorrow when done shooting hope the bent frame wont mess it up tomorrow.
good pistol good price

Bought this pistol several months back and I have put approximately 200 rounds through it. Bought because I wanted to get familiar with the Browning Hi power platform. I figured it would be a beater training tool. The gun has performed well it is solidly built, it has function flawlessly regardless of ammo. I have yet to run steel cased ammo through it but I will on the next range trip. This is not a high end firearm. It is a solid built well made working man's pistol. Does not take browning hi power mags but I have found meg car mags for it on line and they work well. The best $300 bucks I've spent in a while. 5 Stars because of the quality and price. If price Higher I would expect more in terms of a tighter finish and polishing. its a pleasant change from polymer pistols.
Not bad, but...
Review by Georgg89 on 10/6/13
Quality
This pistol is not bad but desires better. Out of the box coarsely finished, coating has no longevity to it, jammed a lot and was not accurate. Accuracy improved after extensive polishing including slides and feeder ramp. Sights looked like done with white out fluid. Washed them away rather fast. Just using WD40. Good part: solid. Strongly feel can be made into reliable and accurate firearm.
This is a really well-made weapon.

Ditto to all the positive comments above...I have both the 98DA and 98DAC, and they are rock-solid performers if you need an M&P type handgun. They are not intended to be beauty queens, just 100% reliable and rugged. Easily worth twice the money...
Pin comes out after first clean
Review by Tara on 5/27/13
Quality
I like this gun, feels great, not a hard kick in my hands.. But I have one issue now. I bought it new, and after shooting a couple boxes of rounds through it, wanted to clean it. Had the gunsmith show me how to take it apart. Now the pin wont stay in when pull the slide back. I had the gunsmith put it back in just to prove to me that I hadn't reassembled it wrong, but it still comes out.
Happy, happy, happy

I have always been a fan of the hi power but the price was the biggest deterent to keep me from purchasing one. I saw other good reviews on this clone and I figured for the price I would gamble on buying it. I have put about 150 rounds through this pistol and love the way it feels. The trigger really smoothed out after the first box of shells went thru it. I feel this is a great purchase and I'm surprised nobody knows about the Arcus pistols.
Great gun disappointing finish
Review by Michael on 2/18/13
Quality
Received the Arcus, cleaned it and went straight to the range. First the finish, it is not 'blued' as advertised, it is a 'dead matt black' finish that scrapes off with a finger nail on the edges, a paint rather than blueing. It is difficult to clean because it is rough to the touch and holds fibres from the cleaning cloth. If the finish had been different I would have marked it much higher, but it WAS cheap after all. I find the trigger extremely light and maybe a little inconsistent, not bad, maybe just different to my other pistols. I took it to the range and checked it out against an old worn Ruger 89, at 25yds supported the Ruger groups 3ins, the Arcus 6ins, not too bad. No loading or feed issues with either factory or reloaded ammo. I would have rated this at 4 or even 5 for the price if the finish had been better. Classic were great as always, many thanks.

This pistol (Arcus 98DA) was worth the wait! The first impression is that this is a solidly built, sturdy firearm that will last my lifetime plus! The balance and weight are perfect. It points itself, but those three dot sights reassure you that you are on target, easily and quickly. I am highly impressed, especially at the price! Classic Firearms made the purchase a pleasure, and I'll keep checking back for more special finds like this one!

Great Pistol - Great Price!
Review by woodeye on 9/29/12
Quality
This pistol shoots extremely well - accurate and easy to get back on target. The Arcus fixes all of the shortcomings of the Browning Hi-Power on which it is based. The beaver tail has been lengthened which eliminates the hammer bite, the magazine is 15 rounds rather than 13, the finger grip has been added which makes the grip more comfortable and secure, it is DA/SA rather than SA only, and most important, the magazine safety has been removed which makes the trigger so much smoother. The magazine safety on the Hi-Power rides and slides on the front of the magazine which makes the trigger very gritty and difficult to make break cleanly. It is much easier to shoot tight groups with the Arcus and the sights were dead on at 15 yards. Overall the Arcus is well thought out and made. I give it an A+ for quality, accuracy and price.
