Nice Rifle, great price
Review by Casey on 3/19/2015
Fun Rifle, great price. Wish the night sights and grenade launcher numbering wasn't blacked out but can be fixed up. Fires 100%, sights are straight, no problems.
Best value for the money!

M70B1 Review- A Fine Rifle
Review by Shane on 1/30/2014
A very nice and solid built rifle, the Yugoslavians know how to update a rifle with there own needs, bulged 1.5mm thick RPK style receiver, push-button to secure the top cover, grenade launching site and gas shut off built into the gas block, a very well built weapon, I have heard before that century rifles had a few flaws, but mine was flawless, no canted sights, no magazine wobble, just perfect, also it has the Kragujevac - Zastava - Yugoslavia markings on the left front trunnion, so that was a plus, it however did not come with a cleaning rod, simply bought one with the rifle as a precaution that turnt out to be a good idea, also had bought the Yugoslavian Accessory Pack when I ordered the rifle, it came with a bayonet, grenade launcher spigot (called blank firing device), and a BHO (Bolt-Hold open) Yugoslavian 30 round magazine that worked flawlessly in the rifle, as you could see in the video, I swapped out the black polymer furniture (just didn't feel very 'AK-ish' to me, so I put on surplus wood), and also changed out the 45 degree slant cut compensator (I shoot left handed and it kept causing the rifle's butt to 'kick' me in the face each time I fired) so I had replaced it with a Tapco AK-74 style muzzle brake, so now when I fire I don't feel anything at all!, I could not be happier with my purchase of such a fine AK style rifle, and I will purchase many more weapons from Classic Firearms in the future, Thank you.
On the Money
Review by Robert on 1/29/2014
I highly recommend this rifle. I have shot and handled a few AK's. This is very stout and feels like a solid piece of equipment. I do like the fit and finish of the wood stocks a little better but I bought this one as a tool and not a display. Receiver is strong. Action is nice. Trigger is exceptional. It was very well packed and I will order from Classic Firearms in the future as well as refer them to friends.
She runs great
Review by Eric on 3/19/2017
This AK was put together correctly and eats anything in Tapco or surplus mags. Very reliable and happy with this purchase.
The best AKM you are going to ever buy
Review by Kyle on 7/18/2016
This AK is hands down the best AK i have ever shot or had. It is sturdy as a tank and has not malfunctioned once in almost 1000 rounds. I would put this up against any AK on the market. IF you are looking for something that is incredible for a cheap price this is the right one for you.
nice ak for the money

Review by Aaron on 3/7/2015
She looks beautiful she eats any type of mag with out to much trouble and she feels good. Classic you guns are amazing, you answered all my questions no matter how miniscule they were and if I remember correctly from the day I got you the ffl to the day it got here was no more than a week and a half.
Fantastic service and qualifying. Highly impressed.

New M70B1
Review by Pete on 7/21/2014
I just bought this AK and let me tell you best AK hands down that I have ever owned.

Out of the box the rifle was clean and perfect. Not a scratch, beautiful finish.

Gun is TIGHT all around, everything fits perfect, no play or loose components.

I added a Tapco T6 stock, Tapco muzzle brake (yes muzzle brake can be removed). Also installed a hogue over sized grip and forearm. Gun looks bad a** now.

Took it out to the range, gun operates flawlessly, 300 rounds not one problem.

Gun required absolutely no tweaking. Crazy accurate out of the box. It is also the most accurate AK using iron sites i have even owned.

The price is unbeatable!!!!.

I would put this AK up against ANY high dollar AK out there.

GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys :):)
Suprise!!
Review by kcraig514 on 4/20/2014
I was blown away by the quality of this rifle! Rivets, mag fit, bolt carrier fit, everything was right on the money. Even has the heavy 1.5mm receiver! All this delivered lock, stock and barrel for less than $600. Incredible deal. Numbers don't match, but who cares. Functioned flawless right out of the box. My only 2 regrets is that I couldn't buy an extra and rate it with six stars.
Sweet AK!
Review by Zac on 4/11/2014
I got this a month ago and was very impressed right out of the box. I really like the black poly stock on this; in fact I think I prefer it over the finished wood stocks that need to be babied to stay looking nice. The action is clean and smooth and operates flawlessly. Fit and finish were top-notch.
This is a solid, heavy-duty gun. It has the bulged trunion, thick RPK receiver.
I have made two modifications to the gun (see my Sweet Gun pics above): I replaced the pistol grip with Hogue rubber over-molded grip; and I replaced the slant muzzle break with a Primary Weapons Systems Flash Suppressing Compensator. These added about $100 to the gun - but doubled how much I enjoy shooting it. One modification I still want to do is add a side rail to the receiver to mount a red dot . When I ordered it I didn't notice that it does not have the side mount on the receiver. Nevertheless, I still think this is a 5 star rifle!
awsome

best ak for the price. it is built like a tank. worth every penny. $750+ quality gun for such a low price.
My First Experiance with Classic Arms
Review by Robert on 2/18/2014
This was my first time ordering with Classic Firearms, the price on this rifle is better than all the other sites that I have seen, example, buds gun shop, atlantic firearms, j&g. When I got the rifle yesterday it was in very good condition, I field stripped it in the store and everything looked good, my shipping got delayed cause of Adverse Weather in the Carolinas but that is not Classic Arms fault, for the money it was a good deal and I would purchase from Classic Arms again, oh yeah I have not taken it to the range yet but will this weekend, I have no worries as to whether it will function or not, it will because it's an AK!!! Lol, thank you.
The First of Many Purchases
Review by Sean on 2/17/2014
I was looking to complete my Russian collection and a friend had directed me here. After some looking around, I opted for the M70B1. WOW!!! I was surprised when it took a relatively short amount of time to get here. The condition of my new addition was amazing. On the rife itself, there was NO rust or packing gunk anywhere. The front sight post was straight and true. It looked as if it were well maintained. Same goes for the two magazines that came with it. The only minor "gripe" I has is that I purchased the accessory kit <ex mag, bfa, and bayo>along with it, and the bayonet & scabbard were completely covered with packing gunk. That does NOT taking away from my first experience with Classic Firearms at all however, not in the least. I will definitely be ordering from this sight again.
No complaints
Review by Clyde on 2/15/2014
First time buyer from classic , pretty quick shipping, seemed slow because I was eager to receive my shipment. Rifle came as advertised. Very clean , very rigid . Came with one tapco poly mag, and one stainless Romanian mag. I like the Romanian better. Nice firing rifle with no regrets to buying. After adjusting the open sights I was easily pegging a 10 inch steel plate at 100 yds . Very fun gun to fire
best value in AKMs today
Review by thrillbilly on 2/11/2014
Ordered this rifle on Monday, received it the following Monday. 7 days is excellent time IMO.

Rifle is immaculate. Rivets are flush, the sights aren't canted, the barrel and stock are riveted square and true to the receiver trunnions.

The finish is even and attractive...appears to rub off quickly wherever metal on metal contact is made (selector lever, takedown levers, grenade sight)

The polymer stocks, while not as attractive as wood, are sturdy and appear better then they look in photographs.

Mine came with phosphated bolt, and a fluted gastube (which I prefer).

The buttstock has a spartan but comfortable rubber buttpad. This being a yugo m70 style stock, you WILL experience cheekslap unless you place your cheek close to receiver...nose almost touching dustcover (rather like the posistion used with an AR15)

My rifle was pretty close to sighted in...4" low and 3" right at 50 yards.

The supplied tapco plastic mag Did have some mag wobble but not excessive...all the steel surplus mags I tried fit beautifully with little to no wobble.

The steel surplus mag was 98% cosmoline-free...the overall rifle was clean and had no packing gunk or machining dust/particles.

This rifle IS heavier then the standard AKM...but doesn't "feel" heavy, it is Very well balanced and sturdy feeling.

This rifle is same price as the WASR...and I truly believe it's twice the rifle.
Nice rifle
Review by Keith on 1/31/2014
Very nice fit and finish. looked alot better that I was anticipating. Straight sights. took very little sight adjustment on front sight to get it shooting nice groups. I am very pleased with the purchase. would recommend this to anyone wanting a reasonably priced AK47. Functioned flawlessly., Thanks Classic!
Excellent gun!

Great gun! Performed flawlessly and front site was dead on from the box. Love it!
condition of rifle
Review by joe on 1/30/2014
I just picked this rifle up from my FFL, I was very pleased with how the rifle felt and looked until I flipped it over and saw the left side of the dust cover it is very pitted you can tell it was very rusted the holes are almost all the way thru the dust cover. The bolt carrier sticks as well, I haven't cleaned or oiled the weapon yet. I am very pleased with everything besides the dust cover and the bolt carrier, this rifle is a tank!
Stout AK rifle
Review by Zaphodepicurus on 1/26/2014
Arrived in good time and the rifle is in top shape. The gun is lighter than my O-PAP by a pound or two. I guess the polymer furniture is good bit lighter than the wood. The M70B1 has the same heavy duty trunnion bulge in the receiver as the O-PAP so I assume its the 1.5mm RPK receiver. I havn't shot it yet but from other reviewers and my experience I expect excellent performance. Assuming she shoots good she just may take the place as my go to AK because of the lighter weight. 5 stars to Classic Firearms too - great company, great service, and great culture!

Worth It!
Review by Nexus on 1/20/2014
I finally got a chance to fire this after getting it. Functioned flawlessly. Had bit of trouble getting the bolt cover on and off, but we worked it out (didn't slide back into place smoothly..had to bend the edge just a bit so it would slide into the slot on the buttstock). If your looking for a AK47, you could do a lot lot worse. Good price to.
Great Rifle

M70B1 Good To Go

AAR
M70B1 Item #:LNGM70B1-AK-Rifle
Recently I purchased two copies of this rifle for my sons.
Yes, I’m a good Dad
My boys are teenagers (Eagle Eye rifle competitors – Kimber .22 cal, Boy Scouts, Archers, hunters) and this is their first taste of the AK world.
The customer service at Classic Firearms is TOP NOTCH!!!
They were knowledgeable, accurate, fast and very helpful!!!
The items were shipped the same day of purchase.
Look around and you will find like I did that Classic has the best pricing.
Both firearms were received in a brown cardboard box; the packaging was bare bones… could have been a tad beefier. Items were OK.. but the boxes were damaged.
They were consecutive serial numbers, however (due to no fault of Classic) the guns had some differences.
One had a black phosphate bolt carrier assembly, the other chrome. One had ZASTAVA markings on the trunnion, the other did not. One had a rust pitted dust cover latch pin. One had a dust cover that needed an “adjustment” to get back together.
The eager beavers at Century did an OK job … NO front sight cant. Fit was very AK-ish, finish was good.
Compared to my Century (Minnesota) M70AB2 from 2002 era they were almost as good.
Compared to my Arsenal SA M-7…. Well they have not got there yet.
The Yugo M70 platform is the way to go.. the receivers measured (Mitutoyo 0-6” calipers) 1.6 -1.7mm that is WAY better (thicker) than a WASR or other AK’s 1mm thickness.
At the firing line booth rifles fed, fired, and ejected like champs. VERY positive 10 meter case ejection.
Accuracy was again predictable AK-ish… good and plenty for white tail deer. Not tack drivers like an AR.
Do yourself a favor and get the item # ACCYUGO-AK-AP, this is a Yugo mag and a bayo for 20 bucks (plus S&H)
The Yugo mags are the best… this package is a great deal. Steer clear of the Tapco’s (sorry Tapco… try copying the circle 10’s with steel lips, catch, and spine)
Overall, Classic Firearms is GTG, This rifle is a good value (at Classic prices).
Firearms know only two enemies, rust and politicians….. I have a lot of oil and I vote…. Help me out
Great price great rifle
Review by Dalton on 12/26/2013
The customer service was excellent and shipped in time for Christmas. It had some surface rust on the gas tube and grenade launcher sites. The bolt is also stiff with and definitely needs a breaking in process. Overall a great ak variant at an unbeatable price. Thanks classic arms.
Highly Recommend
Review by Jack on 12/16/2013
Really like this rifle. This is my first AK and could not be more pleased with both the rifle and Classic Firearms. Good service from Classic Firearms and a quality rifle, built like a tank. Better buy before it they run out or the gun control nazis take over. Only recommendation would be to add an owner's manual. For some reason I did not have one in the box.
You get what you pay for
Review by yenotguilty1911 on 12/5/2013
I bought this gun thinking wow such a great price. When the gun came I opened the box and just like any new weapon I gave it a good look over, their was spot rust around the trunion rivets and the gas tube but a little oil and steel wool and no more problem. The Tapco mag was great but it took around 1 and a half hours to clean the cosmoline off the steel mag. After all was said done I took it shooting and it was great. It shot dead center at 50 yards with no sight adjustment and to me thats where the money is at. Truly a great weapon at a great price. However you get what you pay for so expect a few little problems.
Workhorse
Review by Van on 12/2/2013
Nice rifle, good finish, excellent riveting job on the receiver, solid & straight front sight, smooth operation, nice new Tapco G2 trigger set, overall very good deal in today's market.
Polymer furniture adds to the practical workhorse nature of this solid AK, though the quality of the hand-guards is not good; the fill is not good (which also detracts from the appearance), and flash tabs weren't polished off. Also, I note that none of the serial numbers match. Two other minor issues: the interference fit of the dust cover was too great ('though easily fixed), and one pin on the front sight is not set flush. But then, I expect this rifle to be a workhorse, not a show horse. Highly recommend.
Excellent Rifle all around
Review by Timothy on 11/30/2013
This was my first time dealing with Classic Firearms and i must say I'm very pleased with them-my order shipped fast and they had great customer service. I'll be buying from here again for sure.

The rifle itself came packaged nicely, everything free of rust or nics and marks except for the steel mag which is covered in cosmoline (easily removable with acetone). The rifle is well build and machined with no defects that I could find, and shoots like a dream. Great groupings out of the box and likes any ammo you feed it. Overall I think its going to be a sturdy workhorse of my collection for a while to come. The only con is that everyone is going to want to shoot it!

If you're looking to buy an AK, this is the one to get.
excellent
Review by daniel on 11/28/2013
very good shape, all the rivets are flush too and not put in too far, i havn't shot it yet if i remember i will post another review on how she shoots.
the bolt carrier was also parkerized on mine which is what i like because i was gonna switch the stainless as shown in the picture with a parkerized look.
the bayonet lug is functional, the magazine well is fine, the magazines dont wobble that much. i would highly recommend this rifle to anyone especially for the price. you get more than what you pay for!!!
dont forget the steel mag has cosmoline which is good because it hasnt weathered i like to wrap it in newspaper then tin foil and throw it on my roof for a couple days to heat up the grease then just wipe it off and clean it. no cosmoline on the rifle its self or the tapco magazine. thank you classic firearms i will buy again in future i think next time ill pick up an sks
