FTF or won't hold the bolt open in all my ar,s where other mags function with no problem. what good are they for a few $ less?
Okay for ARs, but don't get fancy
Review by BurnPgh on 2/17/2016

I'm a recent convert to the AR platform and maybe still more an AK guy. Anyway...way back when you could get a saiga for $300 I did. In .223. And I promptly converted it to standard configuration. Then I added an AR mag adapter to it, which worked great (MSA, now CANIS). EXCEPT with thermolds. It worked fine with PMAGS USGI and the korean steel and aluminum USGI clones, but it would not handle Thermolds. The saiga was my first rifle and it was great but it would double feed out of these things constantly. They sat in a drawer until recently when I picked up an AR for a song (comparatively - $370). They seem to work fine in the AR though. I wouldn't count quality to PMAG standards but at least for range use they're A-OK.
Fantastic Mags!!!!!

I do not understand some people, they say "great product" but give it 4 stars. I own nothing but Thermold mags and never had a issue. They have been building mags since the 60's. There were floorplate problems, they were bending and popping off but let them know and they will have new ones to you within a week New stronger improved at No Charge. I use mine for range and would not hesitate to use them in war. They supplied many armies worldwide with their mags.
Better Than I Thought It Would Be
Review by Oscar on 6/8/2013

I bought these during the rush just so that I could beef up my stock of mags and was surprised by the quality of them. The quality is not what you would get from a PMAG but they are good, feed perfectly and seem durable. Thanks Classic Firearms, as an openly Christian company you will continue to get my business.

First off, the transaction with Classic Firearms was 5 STAR! I picked up 4 of these Thermolds. So far they all cycle fine with all of my rifles. Not quite as nice as a PMag but They function 100%. Im happy
Cheap mag
Review by Eric on 4/8/2013
Quality
I ordered 4 of these, and four of the Tapco to make a comparison.
The Thermolds were harder to load into my rifle (brand new DPMS oracal) AR. Had to slap them in pretty hard to get them to lock. But have to say they were very snug once in, no movement at all. (Tapcos had a little wiggle once in).

Loading them, was about the same as the tapco, no problems. Stripping them back out was a pain. (Found the tapco's easier to load/unload). Filled all 4 with the same type of ammo, full 30 rounds each, and 1 out of the 4 failed to lock on last round. Did not have any MF's or fail to loads/chamber, no misfeeds. overall they were just "meh" to me. Nothing special, and the Tapco's looked better too.

Overall, these are a cheap mag, for a cheap price. If you want to have some as a backup, or pre-loaded that you don't care about wearing the spring on, I would get a few of these for that reason, basically load em, and keep em ready to go, and forget about them. But for repeated use, I would not recommend them.

For a buck less, I would go with the thermolds. They performed much better overall. Easier to load/unload, and did not have a single issue like these did.

Classic Firearms did GREAT. Shipped fast, arrived fast, and packaged well. No complaints at all from the service.
.223 Magazine
Review by David on 3/31/2013

I bought these due to the very inexpensive price. Not sure about the quality at this moment as I've not fired with them. The outside of the mag is just fine but the follower and spring leaves a bit to be desired. They might work just fine though so I don't wish to put them down.
good product
Review by gunstock on 3/30/2013

The folks at Classic FA are there for one reason, to deliver the goods and take good care of their customers. There seems to be some worry about the Thermold and feed problems. I have some that are 90s vintage and current models, none have given any more problems than any mag on the market. I have kept some of these same 30 rnd mags loaded with 25 rnds for grab and go for long periods of time and yet have experienced spring set. One guy said he was going to modify the mag with Magpull followers. Don't waste your time or money, only Thermold followers and springs work in their product. You can't go wrong, the price is right, if you do have a problem Classic and Thermold will handle it!!! Ps I am ordering another box full when I finish here.

One of these had a manufacturing flaw and Classic and Thermold jumped right on it and made good. Highest praise!
Decent low end mag
Review by Keith V. on 3/9/2013
Quality
When my mags arrived, I promptly disassembled them all for a thorough examination. The edges are a bit raw, but cleaned up nicely with some fine sandpaper. My biggest complaint about these mags is the follower. Anyone who is familiar with GI mag will know about the Gen 1 green followers, and the improved Gen 2 Tan anti-tilt followers. I can easily see these mags as being susceptible to round tilting and jamming.

I'm going to be modding a set of my Gen 3 magpul followers and running a battery of test with them versus the stock follower. Hopefully any good results I find will convince Thermold to revise their follower design.
Cheap but good
Review by WillowHunter on 3/1/2013

The shipping was quick and I loaded the magazines with my speedloader from stripper clips. The bullets fed perfectly and had no jams. The plastic has a slight "cheap" feeling to it, but upon examination it seems the magazine is strongly built and shouldn't crack or separate. I obviously wouldn't abuse them like you can metal magazines, but for the money you cannot go wrong.

I just got the Thermold mags in the mail today and comparing them side by side to the PMAGs, I would have to say the quality of the PMAGS looks and fills a lot better. The plastic on the Thermolds feels cheep and doesn't seem like it would last very long. They do fit in my AR though, so thats good. I haven't used the Thermold mags yet in the shooting, but hoping they will work flawlessly when I did use them.

Review by Richard on 2/7/2013

Bought 5 of these to try out. This was my first intro into molded mags instead of steel, and I like the fit and finish. Don't know anything about how durable they are, but read other reviews that said they are very sturdy, so I'm glad I got them when I could, as AR mags are getting impossible to find at a reasonable price. Many thanks to classic for being so prompt and keeping their prices fair. God bless

Good polymer mags
Review by John on 2/1/2013

These are good polymer mags and Thermold was making plastic mags work long before others. They just don't market as strongly. I have some from the 90's that just keep on running.

    Solid Magazine

Bought 5 of these to try out. This was my first intro into molded mags instead of steel, and I like the fit and finish. Don't know anything about how durable they are, but read other reviews that said they are very sturdy, so I'm glad I got them when I could, as AR mags are getting impossible to find at a reasonable price. Many thanks to classic for being so prompt and keeping their prices fair. God bless
    Nice Mag!

These were a lucky find considering how hard they have been to get. Arrived quickly and were packaged well. They are really nice mags. Thanks!
    Good polymer mags

These are good polymer mags and Thermold was making plastic mags work long before others. They just don't market as strongly. I have some from the 90's that just keep on running.
