Brutus' Description

It has been a little over a year now since we had our last batch of these fine handguns in stock, but I believe the wait was worth it.  These are exceptional, probably the nicest batch we've had here.  And no disrespect to the Yugo variation, but I like these better.

These have a factory safety instead of an after production add on and the lines and fit are just cleaner.  These are in excellent condition with nice bluing and very minimal wear. Each pistol is packed in light oil inside a plactic bag... comes complete with an original  surplus grade holster, lanyard, cleaning rod and extra mag. The finish on these is a deep rich blue.  Some may have very slight bluing wear on the sharp edges but most do not.  Bores have been very nice on the ones I have seen.

Each pistol is semi-automatic and fires the hard hitting, flat shooting 7.62x25 caliber cartridge.  These pistols come with two 8rd mag.

Don't you buy no ugly gun.... Get one of these and be proud.....

Some have lanyard loops, some do not.

On 7/16/15 I got my hand guns from classic firearms , and was I happy, when I opened the box I found my two polish and my two romanian tokarevs and all I could say is WOW! only one had a little bit of rust but cleaned up just fine,.thank you people at classic for these fine hand guns F. Lamb
Very nice pistol and accessories
Review by kwqd on 7/19/15

Very nice, excellent condition 1956 dated pistol. Numbers on slide, frame and barrel match. Neither of the magazines matched. Finish excellent, obviously fresh from factory refurbishment. Bore was dark and dirty (?), but cleaned up. Lands are very light, which I assume is normal for these pistols, since the barrel does no show much wear externally. Maybe not cleaned after test firing? Probably good to shoot as it is, since the rest of the gun seems to be very clean, but lots of oil inside and out.

Holster pretty rough with previous soldier's name and assuming service number in ink on the inside of the flap (Rata P13485). Lots of wear to inside and outside of holster, but seems to be a lot of life left in it. Came with lanyard, used, and cleaning rod, like new. Extra magazine in excellent condition as is the one in the gun.

Very happy with this pistol.
Romanian Tokarev Number 2!!!!!

The 1st Romanian Tokarev I bought from Classic was immaculate and in NEW condition, so I took a chance and purchased a 2nd one....... and it too is like NEW and all matching except the magazines...... this one is a 1953 and even the inside of the barrel on this one was shiny before I cleaned it. Truly unbelievable. The 1st one I bought the barrel came clean but it took some cleaning.... well worth it... now I have 2 beautiful Romanian Tokarevs that are accurate and reliable as my Glock 17 but they have half the recoil. If you don't have one.... you are missing out on a darn good gun and a great piece of history. Classic Arms is Great!!!!!

This is the second TTC I have ordered from Classic. The first one was last year. Got it in August, Cleaned and shot it once, then gave it to my dad as a gift, so I had to get myself another. As usual, Classic is the best at shipping, hands down. Ordered this one on a Thursday night, had it by the following Monday. This second one appears to be in even better condition than the first, and that was without the extra charge for a hand pick. I would say it is at least 95%, with little wear on any of the surfaces. The grooves were a bit dark, but after some BlueGel and a brush, the bore was shining. Ordered the Romanian ammo and two extra mags, and got a chance to get to the range. The TTC functioned flawlessly, and was fairly accurate at 10 yards without doing any adjustments to the sights. I did have one mag though that when inserted allowed the slide to go forward without using the slide release. I am going to see if it may just be a little dirty still. Overall, I am pleased with this TTC,and Classic as usual is perhaps the best online place to get what you want.Just wish I had known they were going to lower the price this week, but I didnt want to miss the chance to get another one. For a fun gun to just shoot and enjoy, I would highly recommend getting one.

Unbelievable piece of history....I got a 1956 Romanian Tokarev as new as it was the day it was made with lanyard loop. All numbers match except magazine.... no rust or corrosion.... obviously never used or taken apart... maybe test fired at factory but that's it. Tight from being new, so took part, cleaned, oiled, and heading to range to shoot. I am one happy camper. Thanks CLASSIC!!!!!!!

Awsome buy
Review by Rodney on 7/11/15

The pistol I received looks like it just rolled out of the plant back in 1953 when the pistol was made. There is not a scratch, rub mark, or any sign of any wear or tear on or in it. I did pay the extra $$ for a hand pick and I would like to thank the individual that did so, It was well worth it. The holster was in pretty good condition externally but on the inside it had writing from Individuals it had been issued to. Now I'm not complaining, to me that adds character and it give you something else to talk about besides the pistol..... But I don't know anyone who would want to do that....(smiles) . The only bad thing about this purchase was it did not come with the lanyard strap. Definitely a awsome buy.
Extremely Pleased with purchase

Order place on 7/6/15 received 7/9/15. this is my forth purchase from Classic and by far the best!! The bore was coated with some kind of funky cosmoline that gave me fits but after 2 hours of cleaning there is not a scratch on the gun and the bore looks new as the day it was made. I did not choose the hand pick option this time and boy did I get lucky all accessories included even the lanyard. The only down side, not all the numbers matched. Disappointing but not a big deal, the trigger and mags did not match. Based on price and condition you can not go wrong buying one of these Tokarevs form Classic!!!!!!!!!!!

This gun is in really nice shape - exactly as described. Paid for hand select, and am not disappointed. All matching serial numbers (except the mag.... I wish, right ). Bore, frame, slide and grips all look great. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but see no reason it won't work great.

Only downside of the transaction is I missed the $20 price drop by a week.....my bad luck.

The Torkarev 7.62 x25 Classic Firearms sent me is a beauty. It feels great in the hand, is in excellent shape, and fires very accurately. At 25 yards range, my Marine Corps nephew had no problem putting good groupings on the target.
I would recommend this weapon for your back up while rifle hunting or a woods gun for camping, or use at the range. I would not recommend it for self defense in an urban area due to the high velocity of the round. That being said, I prize mine as my back up to my rifle for hunting wild boar. The recoil is amazingly mild despite the power of the round. Damn fine weapon.

This was a great addition. Tight, smooth slide, excellent barrel lock-up and great cosmetic appearance. I did a quick replacement of firing pin and spring & extractor and spring (Not necessary, but that's just me) and tuned it up. Excellent historical weapon at a great price! Thanks!!!
Flawless gun, Likely never used.

Pros:

Fast shipping, I got it 7 days after I bought it.

Gun is in ment condition, I mean I honestly think it has never been used, not even a scratch on the blueing.

Came with mags and a holster, the holster may look odd but it would actually work as a modern holster, be careful however as the holster covers the gun entirely and it may blur the lines between Open and Concealed carrier.

Fantastic preference and design.

Cons

Ammo is hard to find in my local area

It is a European gun so it is small for American hands, Custom Grips and Extended Magazine floor plate are likely a must if you have man hands.

over all I'd give this gun a 10/10
beautiful!

I'm very happy with the weapon I received from the guys (Gabriel) after having to send my first one back. There was a slide problem with the first one they sent that was probably curable with minor work. They sent me another one and did a pick from five which generally costs $20.00 for free. Being made in 1952 the pistol is only two years younger than I and it looks brand new. I looked real hard for wear.
Thank-you Gabriel and the people at Classic Fire Arms.
