Brutus' Description

It has been a little over a year now since we had our last batch of these fine handguns in stock, but I believe the wait was worth it.  These are exceptional, probably the nicest batch we've had here.  And no disrespect to the Yugo variation, but I like these better.

These have a factory safety instead of an after production add on and the lines and fit are just cleaner.  These are in excellent condition with nice bluing and very minimal wear. Each pistol is packed in light oil inside a plactic bag... comes complete with an original  surplus grade holster, lanyard, cleaning rod and extra mag. The finish on these is a deep rich blue.  Some may have very slight bluing wear on the sharp edges but most do not.  Bores have been very nice on the ones I have seen.

Each pistol is semi-automatic and fires the hard hitting, flat shooting 7.62x25 caliber cartridge.  These pistols come with two 8rd mag.

Don't you buy no ugly gun.... Get one of these and be proud.....

Some have lanyard loops, some do not.

No "Ugly Gun" for sure!
Review by Richard on 6/30/15

This gun is in really nice shape - exactly as described. Paid for hand select, and am not disappointed. All matching serial numbers (except the mag.... I wish, right ). Bore, frame, slide and grips all look great. Have not had a chance to shoot it yet, but see no reason it won't work great.

Only downside of the transaction is I missed the $20 price drop by a week.....my bad luck.

just recived today.my very first online purchase. gun was in a bag of oil. wiped it down and dissasembled and cleaned. not a scratch on it. i love the look of it. i did not choose the hand pick so i had a feeling id get one with a scuff or scratch somewhere. boy was i wrong. its amazing looking. the barrel after some cleaning reveals very nice grooves. was a lil scared that it wouldnt but it was just the old cosmo i guess. few rags and a few passes with the brush and it looks as good as the day it was made. however nbot all the numbers macthed. a lil disapionted but its not big deal. the barrle was the odd man out. all the others was matching. have not fired yet but i have high hopes and cant wait to have some fun with it. thanks very much classic arms! ive been wanting one for a couple years now and you delivered!

The Torkarev 7.62 x25 Classic Firearms sent me is a beauty. It feels great in the hand, is in excellent shape, and fires very accurately. At 25 yards range, my Marine Corps nephew had no problem putting good groupings on the target.
I would recommend this weapon for your back up while rifle hunting or a woods gun for camping, or use at the range. I would not recommend it for self defense in an urban area due to the high velocity of the round. That being said, I prize mine as my back up to my rifle for hunting wild boar. The recoil is amazingly mild despite the power of the round. Damn fine weapon.

The pistol that was shipped to me by far exceeded the expectations I had. This is only my second C&R purchase and the first time through classic. I wish I had ordered my first curio through classic because if this gun is anything model the rest of their inventory then they must have amazing firearms. This gun looks brand new.

Romanian TTC Tokarev Pistol - 7.62x25 Excellent,
Classic said Excellent and I agree with them! picked mine up today from my FFL opened the box up and pulled out
the oil soaked bag. after a bit of rag work had a 1955, 60 year old "BRAND NEW" gun!! she cleaned up nice, bore is looks great and runs rounds fine.
a fine add on to the 1939 91 30 that I got from these guys last fall!
Tokarev TTC - Great bang for your buck

This was a great addition. Tight, smooth slide, excellent barrel lock-up and great cosmetic appearance. I did a quick replacement of firing pin and spring & extractor and spring (Not necessary, but that's just me) and tuned it up. Excellent historical weapon at a great price! Thanks!!!
Flawless gun, Likely never used.
Review by Steve on 4/28/15

Pros:

Fast shipping, I got it 7 days after I bought it.

Gun is in ment condition, I mean I honestly think it has never been used, not even a scratch on the blueing.

Came with mags and a holster, the holster may look odd but it would actually work as a modern holster, be careful however as the holster covers the gun entirely and it may blur the lines between Open and Concealed carrier.

Fantastic preference and design.

Cons

Ammo is hard to find in my local area

It is a European gun so it is small for American hands, Custom Grips and Extended Magazine floor plate are likely a must if you have man hands.

over all I'd give this gun a 10/10
beautiful!

I'm very happy with the weapon I received from the guys (Gabriel) after having to send my first one back. There was a slide problem with the first one they sent that was probably curable with minor work. They sent me another one and did a pick from five which generally costs $20.00 for free. Being made in 1952 the pistol is only two years younger than I and it looks brand new. I looked real hard for wear.
Thank-you Gabriel and the people at Classic Fire Arms.
Excellent pistol at an exceptional price

Shipping to my FFL was fast.
Finish on the gun is immaculate - you could tell me it's brand-spankin-new and I'd believe it. The bore is ridiculously clean and bright. If any rounds were ever fired through it, it had to have been less than a hundred. Gun came covered in cosmo, but that was expected. A bit of cleaning and a heavy oiling (to loosen up any cosmo I missed), and it's almost ready for a trip to the range. Both mags are in superb condition and the only flaw I could see was a bit of a burr on the internal portion where it was milled for the safety. A quick touch-up with a file and it was made smooth and crisp. The holster and lanyard that came with the gun were a bit worse for the wear though. The leather tab that secures the holster flap was torn and the lanyard doesn't have a hook on the end. Other than that, no complaints to be had here, folks. If you're looking for a Tokarev, this is the place to get it.

Excellent Purchase
Review by DG on 4/6/15

I purchased a handpick when these were on sale. Everything was matching except the magazines. Exterior blue finish was flawless. The plastic handgrips had a couple very small nicks.

I was a little concerned when I ran a patch through the barrel and found a bunch of brown stuff that looked like rust. It took about 15 minutes of cleaning to find a relatively nice barrel with a slight bit of frost. It must have been dried cosmoline.

I took it to the range and ran two full magazines. Second magazine gave me 8 shots in the 10 ring at 5 yards: better than my Beretta. The trigger seemed a little heavy so I measured it with my digital trigger pull scale. The scale maxed out at over 12 pounds. Yeah, it's heavy. I'm going to see if I can smooth it up a bit.

I want another one!
Excellent buy

I ordered this pistol with the hand select option and I received it promptly. Right out of the box I could tell I got the best out of 10, it appeared nearly unissued. I am very impressed with the pistol they sent, the accessories and mags were in great condition as well. Classic has always been good to me and I try to buy my surplus arms here because I know I won't be let down.
Impressed to say the least!
Review by Greg on 4/2/15

This was my first purchase from Classic Firearms and first of all, I would like to say how utterly impressed I was with the level of customer service and professionalism of the staff of C.F. My Tokarev pistol package came with an excellent quality handgun and accessories, except the holster arrived, (It was surplus, after all.), with a cut and tear on the spare magazine pouch. After sending back a picture of the damage and fully expecting a long process of returning the sent holster, and being charged shipping, to my pleasant surprise, the professional staff at Classic Firearms told me they would look for a better holster and send it, free of any charge to me. The replacement holster promptly arrived at my doorstep! Having shot the pistol now, it is a jewel of a bargain, functions flawlessly, hits right on the mark even with it's fixed sights, and I could not be happier.

This is a company that values it's customers, it's products, and it's reputation. Complete pros! They will definitely have me as a repeat customer.
Bit Disappointed
Review by Gunny on 3/31/15
Quality
I decided to give one of these pistols a try and placed my order with Classic.
Took 7 days to receive from day of order to arrival.

Upon opening the box, first off, no owners manual or paper work of any kind.
However, manuals are easily downloaded from the Internet.

Pistol:

Was wrapped in oiled plastic bag, upon observation I found immediately
2 rub marks on top of slide where the bluing has been rubbed off.. This is easily spotted and should have been seen, as I chose to pay extra for the Hand Select option, which apparently was a waste of money, Classic didnt mind taking the money but failed to give me that added benifit when they pack the pistol. Rest of the pistol was in good condition and I found no other issues with it. The barrel is like new, crisp, sharp, lands and grooves.

Magazines:

2 magazine included and apparently used mags, but still in good condition
and loaded down with cosmoline, these needed a complete take down for cleaning. Cleaning rod included and in good condition.

Holster:

Now here is the sad part, the holster was well used and had 2 holes,
one in the bottom left corner of the magazine pouch holder and the
other at the bottom holder on side of holster where cleaning rod fits
it had a 1/4" tear. 2 lanyards were also included and in good condition.

Overall all, I'm a bit disappointed in the package, since paying for hand select
should of produced a bit better condition pistol. Ive had up to now very good luck with Classic Firearms so I was surprised that this time is wasn't the case.
The pistol performed very well at the range with only 2 FTF out of 50 rds fired.

Semper Fi
Another booty-kicking Tokarev for the collection!
Review by Big John?Georgia on 3/30/15
Quality
As Classic rated this batch "E" for excellent, I always reserve doubt when anyone rates ANYTHING an E, be it pizza or snowshoes..... Well, this Tok was an E PLUS! Even covered in commie cosmo oil, the FFL jockeys themselves commented on how pristine this pistol was! Cosmetically, not a mark ON it, all matching numbers. The bore took some scrubbing, but it cleaned up nicely. This pistol was shiny and looked unissued!
Took it out back for it's first firing foray. Oddly enough, I felt the handling difference in THIS Tok with different ammo, something I was not able to discern with the other 2 Toks I own.... A marked difference in handling between Red Army Standard ammo, PPU ammo and surplus ammo. Not a bad thing at all, mind you....
One minor problem... I got a bad mag. Looked like some drunk Bolshevik tried to hammer out a bent feed lip with a screwdriver and a rock. It misfed like crazy in all three Toks.
Now, THIS is why I love Classic and still do business with em all these years later... They sent me not one, but TWO replacement mags for it! These folks take care of their customers!!!!!

Great Piece. Happy to have it.
Review by Eric on 3/28/15

Happy with my purchase. Gun arrived in great shape, with thin oil throughout. One blob of grease in the hammer mechanism.

Slight holster-wear perhaps, visible on the left side of the slide.

Really clean barrel. The photo attempt of the inside shows some blue. That's TV-image reflecting THROUGH the clean barrel to the camera.

I used a little Mother's polish on the slide, and realized it was beginning to take the blue-ing off. Oops.

I'd recommend the purchase.
A + plus

Thank you.
A perfect example of TTC history.
Excellent packaging. The condition is like-new.
Quality of the TCC is 100%.
Looking at the trigger, barrel, slide....I don't believe this weapon has been fired more than 100 rounds in its life !
I don't know how you do it...but keep on doing it !
Other purchases from Classis have been good....this one is great !
The holster has never been used as the factory packaging was still intact.
Thank you Classic.

The pistol performed very well at the range with only 2 FTF out of 50 rds fired.

Another booty-kicking Tokarev for the collection!
