High Quality AK Mags
Review by John on 3/29/13 -
First off, I know Tapco makes good products. Still, I had my concerns about a polymer magazine in an AK, mainly because AK mags seem to live a harder life than most.Quality
Well, those concerns were unfounded because these magazines function and hold up to normal handling/abuse very well. Even my concern about the relatively "thin" mag lever catch turned out to be nothing.
I'm glad I took a chance and gave these Tapco magazines a try! They are a nice alternative for when you can't find steel mags or just don't care for the added weight. -
best Ak mag for the money
Review by Michael on 5/9/13 -
Tapco has the best magazine for a AK you can buy for less than ten dollars. Thanks classic for not gouging the customer when every one else has and does. I have bought many of these and have yet to have a problem with any. I've hammered the fool out of them. The only mag I have in steel that I think is better is the Yugo and that is because of the bolt hold open feature and I have some of them all. Great product at a great price thanks classic.Quality -

Top Quality Ak Magazines
Review by Rocket5280 on 4/18/13 -
Tapco makes great products. Classic Firearms is great to buy from. Good prices and fast shipping. Kept up to date if there is a delay. Will defiantly buy from here again. Thanks Classic, RJQuality -
good mags, slow shipping
Review by Russell on 4/17/13 -
So I already have 3 of these tapco mags and they work good, you may have to file the catch on the mag down though. but as for classic firearms they are the slowest to ship a set of mags. I ordered mags on a Sunday, it is now Wednesday, and still hasn't shipped,I hope they get here before Colorado's ban kicks in lol. I give classic firearms 2 out of 5 stars when it comes to shipping speed.Quality -
Great magazine.
Review by trek988 on 4/12/13 -
I'm not a big fan of Tapco products but these magazines seem good so far. They fit my AK perfectly with no wobble. I'm glad to see these in stock and that the prices are still reasonable.Quality -
Clobbered these for a year, and still function like new!
Review by Big John/Georgia on 4/11/13 -
I dropped the first review on these at the bottom on 6/14/2012, a few months after I bought 4 of these and put em through their paces. I felt it important to weigh in 1 year later to give you a status update on these Tapco polymer mags. After all, it's the longevity that's the REAL story, right? Especially in these questionable times when replacement will not always be an option.....Quality
These still function flawlessly! And i've put literally THOUSANDS of rounds through them. For a goof, I broke my own advice on the bottom review, and designated 1 mag as my redheaded stepchild mag. I abuse this thing on purpose just to ascertain it's ability to absorb punishment. This mag, I keep FULLY loaded at all times. I use it regularly with my slidefire as well as I foolishly waste ammo. Over a year later, STILL as reliable as the rest of em! NO loss of spring response, and the thing has never jammed on me, never misfed, or got ammo hung up inside. Flawless. Don't let the low price fool you. These will reliably serve you with a minimum of care.
For those of us that UNDERSTAND what is transpiring in America right now, and where this whole mess is going, we NEED reliability and longevity out of the firearms products we buy. Grab a batch of these and tuck em away. The only way I could be more pleased with Tapco polymers, is if they made 40 round versions, like the Bulgarian polymers. Got a mess of those too, but for durability and reliability, the Tapco is my go-to mag. -
Great fit, best price you can find
Review by Gary on 4/11/13 -
Bought three and they came in yesterday. Fit and function is great out of the box. Inserting them will slightly scrape any burrs or extra polymer off - just enough so they fit nice and snug. Keep 15 or so in them for storage and rotate every few weeks.Quality
I like the form of the tapco's better than steel - they're easier to grip due to not having the rib on either side.
Lastly, I've searched for a better price and simply cannot find one. I've compared tons of different sites, and none come close to what you pay for the mags + shipping. Plus, it only took 4 days to get to my door.
Hope this review helps! -
Very Happy With These Mags
Review by Mackattack on 4/10/13 -
I was very skeptical about ordering these MAGS since I have one polymer mag of another brand that has feeding issues. So I took a chance and ordered a dozen, since the price was right. I have no complaints what so ever. Shipping was fast. They fit very snuggly in my Yugo PAP, with no rattle. I also have had no failures to feed. I am very happy with these mags and would recommend them.Quality -

dont click into my arsenal pistol, not the only one
Review by mick on 3/17/13 -
traded for older ones that did work, good deal for both of usQuality Hi Mick - The Tapco AK-47 mags are made to a slightly larger tolerance than most in an effort to avoid mag wobble. Sometimes you just have to relieve a little plastic (use a Dremel tool or similar) for the bottom side of the mag catch on the mag. Just remove a very slight amount until the mags will click into place. This will not void the lifetime warranty. Thanks and God bless.

Great product, great price, great service
Review by christopher on 3/12/13 -
I ordered 6 Tapco magazines and I have to say, I am more than pleased. The price was right on, thank you for not raising the price like some other sites/stores! They shipped fast and got here faster! Fantastic job!Quality -
Ok mag for the price
Review by Greg on 3/12/13 -
No don't get me wrong not saying it's a crappy mag or anything but they are in no way as durable or as reliable as a Circle 10 Mag or surplus mag.Quality
I have been shooting and collecting for over 40+ yrs and own over 20 AK's. From AK's kits built from flats, to 7+ Arsenals, a few Krebs, Yugo M70 and WASR and various other types and makes.
But I collect all types of guns not only AK's. AR's, ACR, SCAR's, Boltguns, Antiques ,rare guns like my vault queen HKMP5 and SBR'ers and other NFA or class 3 weapons and suppressors to of course pistols its a quite sizable collection I come from gun families. The only guns I don't own are shotguns.
But of all the toys in my collection which ever ones I use for, that's NOT in secure storage etc? IE: Self or Home defense?
Magazines are on of THE most important parts of the gun. I own a few of these mags and would only use them for practice NEVER for a gun I would need.
The plastic locking nubs break and wear on these after hard use as I have broken or worn a few in the past. And when they wear they wobble sometime right out the bottom of the gun. But like I said with hard use I take carbine and or pistol courses a couple times a year and shoot at least every other use.
So like I said not hating on em, just saying for me? I only use or buy the best accessories one can afford like optics, lights, lasers, parts ,furniture and mags. For any weapon to be used for self defense.
IMHO self defense tools are one thing you should never cheap out on.
Remember you always get what you pay for. Like a BSA vs my TI micro there is a difference. Just keeping it real folks and hope people take safety as a priority. -
Good Product
Review by Dan on 3/10/13 -
These perform just as good as any military mag I have used. They snap in tight, don't wobble and have an anti-tilt follower unlike another american made mag. The polymer holds up and resists shaving even if you bobble a quick reload. They work.Quality -
Great mag at a great price!!!
Review by Charles on 3/3/13 -
I have had no issues with these mags. They are rugged and dependable. Also a great price on here. Thanks!Quality -
Great mags
Review by Minuteman on 3/2/13 -
Just ordered 17 of these mags because the 3 I already had are phenomenal. They fit my Wasr 10 like a glove. They fit nice and tight with no wobble. They feed wonderfully. They are just as good as steel mags. Steel can rust, polymer can't. Get them now before shit starts looking like the book 1984. Thanks for reading. Cheers.Quality -
Great mag

GOOD AS ANY MAG
Review by JEFFRON on 2/23/13 -
Thank you Classicarms for not price gouging. These mags are as good as any and work perfectly. Make a great forward hold on ak pistols with thick ridgess and rough texture for holding. And they won't rust if your hands sweat like mine do when your choppin wood. I just wish somebody would make a coupler so i could put 2 together!Quality -
Much better than I thought.
Review by CustomerEarl on 2/23/13 -
I bought this in a shooters package. It took a while to get it thanks to Obama and the other Communists in our Government running thier mouths. When I got the Mags I noticed that they were really rigid. I put one in my MAK90 and it fit real tight but was easy to remove and replace. No wobble at all. I had heard that these were not up to specks but that info must have came from the White House. I am very well pleased with the quality and they function as well as my pre ban Chicoms and Euro mags.Quality -
Works great, well made
Review by Tyler on 2/22/13 -
I got four of these for my Yugo M70 AB2 Underfold AK-47 Rifle. They work great. Maybe a little tight as first but that's always better than loose. Shot a few mag fulls out of each. No failures.Quality -
Great quality and price
Review by TIM on 2/19/13 -

Review by Civiliansoldier762 on 2/18/13 -
I've always liked tapco mags. After dealing with tapco customer service a couple times I can say they are an excellent company that area about every customer. Thank you Classic firearms you guys have the same excellent service and always the best prices. These tapco mags are great and I thank you for honoring the price and not gouging like some companies have done. You have a loyal customer for life. You've also done an excellent job at processing and shipping orders in this last two months of panic buying. Keep up the good work. Now to get the money together for one of those beautiful ak74's you guys are selling!!!Quality -
Best polymer mags for the money.
Review by Brian on 2/18/13 -
There are many in the "high-speed / low-drag" community who would not use these since the chances of breakage during a drop mag change is higher than it is with metal mags.Quality
I am not good enough to be in that community and am on a tight budget. If you're fall into my category of user and will mostly use these mags at the range then you can't find any better than the Tapco's.
You also, certainly, won't find a better bunch of folks than ClassicFirearms to buy them from. -
really nice mags
Review by Stan on 2/2/13 -
These came well packed. They seem to be really well made and fit my gun nicely. I will be buying more from Classic Firearms again soon. Thanks!Quality -
Love the Tapcos!
Review by Joel on 2/1/13 -
Just picked up another 2 dozen of these for long term storage. I can run these all day through my Saiga without any hicups or malfunctions. Buy them while you still can and store them away; you'll be glad you did.Quality -

Get 'em while they last
Review by Megan on 1/30/13 -
With the price of Surplus Steel magazines rising these Tapco Ak magazines are the best option for someone on a budget. I currently own several of these magazines and all function and fit well in my I.O inc AK Sporting Rifle. While I still prefer Steel over Polymer any day, I would still consider purchasing Tapco magazines for long term storage or replacement magazines. Still waiting on my most recent order; it's been 11 days now but like they say "patience is a virtue". I will make a video review when my next order is in!Quality -
good very little mag wobble
Review by kevin on 1/25/13 -
over all pretty good havent had a change to use them. over all product is made well fits my ak good.Quality -
Works great and priced right
Review by Navy Chief on 1/25/13 -
I have bought and used these Tapco mags for my CAI AK underfolder for a while. They work well, and my only gripe is that sometimes I cannot bring the bolt to battery with 30 rounds loaded. If I only have 29 rounds loaded, no problem.Quality -
Good for the money
Review by Constitution? on 1/16/13 -
These mags are okay for the money. I have a Wasr 10 and these mags fit extremely tight in it. Sometime it takes me a bit to get them to fit. You may have to do some filing to get them to interchange them without a hassle. I know some of you probably reading this are probably saying "well it's probably your gun". No it is not because of my gun. My rifle takes the steel magazines that this rifle is supposed to take and they fit wonderfully. These mags are pretty light and they're made of a thick polymer which is kind of a plus I guess. They are thicker or wider I should say than steel mags or promags. I am not a big fan of how the grip on these mags makes them so much thicker. In my opinion nothing is going to beat steel mags but these mags are good for what you spend on them. Right now with the big gun hype these are running anywhere from 40 bucks to 100 bucks on ebay which is ridiculous when these mags are only worth about 7 or 8 bucks. I like these mags for what they are and they do the job but if you want quality mags and have the money, buy some steel mags. You won't be let down. If not, these will certainly do the job too.Quality -
Awesome Mags!
Review by Matt on 1/12/13 -
Fit and finish was excellent. A well built mag. Bought these for $9.99 and sold them for triple a week later. These are like the mags that lay golden eggs.Quality -
Love them
Review by david on 8/14/12 -
I have 8 of these and everyone of them fit perfect in my AK,Quality -
These are reliable and work flawlessly!
Review by Big John/Georgia on 6/14/12 -
I bought 4 of these, and i love them, even more than their Bulgarian counterpart, which are supposed to be the Cadillac of AK mags. I have put hundreds of rounds through each of them, rapid fire included, and these have given me flawless, 5 star performance. They are cheap and reliable, and being polymer, not subject to the environmental risks of their steel counterpart. Very well made.Quality
A note of caution; As with ANY magazine, unless you are going to the range or anticipate an emergency situation, DO NOT keep these mags loaded at the full 30 round capacity for long periods of time, or the magsprings WILL wear! This is gospel with ANY magazines of ANY caliber. Keep 15 to 20 rounds in the mags, & buy enough of them to rotate load monthly. Only half-loading them & rotating them will double the life of the mag springs.
