Vepr 12 Shotgun is a BEAST!
Review by Lynwoodsfinest on 4/27/2015
Buy It! Buy It! Buy It! It's the first thing in our range bag when we head out! Absolutely love this shotgun. It is super well made with chrome lined everything. It is a show stopper at the range and makes shooting clays super fun! You can shoot ALL DAY and have no pain whatsoever! Love it!

Our first trip out the box we tried some basic Remington Target 1200fps and it wouldn't cycle effectively. We read the chart at Vepr.org and we switched to Winchester Super X #6/7 shot @ 1325fps [$5.88/box Walmart] and its has run flawless ever since. My recommendation is to stay above 1325 fps until you get it good and broken in. The folks at the blog also have some other simple adjustments that can made to have it really run everything.

We shot a promo for it and some other vids as well. Love this shotgun! Buy it while you can! Thanks Classic Firearms!

I'm the same guy as the one in the video review: Molot Vepr-12 - Five, Ten, Twelve.

After purchasing some additional parts from CarolinaShooterSupply, I was able to make this gun run like a dream!

And this is all using the cheap 1200 FPS birdshot from Walmart!
Great gun

I absolutely love this shotgun! If you buy it, remember to break it in! I'm shooting Winchester 8 shot Target/Birdshot in this video.

"the new love of my life"
Review by Douglas on 6/21/2017
I received my vepr a bit longer than expected but I do understand the volume and shipping orders once a week is typical, when I received my new shotgun I started testing everything I had researched about them, and I must admit that the gun fires flawless it eats up whatever I through at it and just keeps going. when ripped off a clip in the backyard my neighbors came out and I believe may have been more excited then myself and of course I offered to let them fire it for a nominal fee. ;) I installed my gk-02 break from st.petersburg Russia and installed it, I could tell an immediate difference now I have a shotgun that fires better then my ak. I would suggest one of these they really do make a difference. I feel as though I'm slipping away with myself as I find myself looking for more options and better ways to upgrade my new obsession. Ill be sending my friends and family to classic firearms for their needs and mine as I feel good business and customer service should be rewarded with return business and more of it. thankyou for your time my new friends at classic from your new frineds at "old guns and ammo"
Great shotgun
Review by TheBigGuy on 5/12/2017
This is a great shotgun! By far a better built gun than the cheap $500 ak 12 gauge models.. My advise is to spend the extra few buck get the VEPR12! Dont waste your time or money on the cheap ak 12 gauges, they jam too much. The VEPR12 doesn't.
BUY IT,....best shotgun you will ever own
Review by Magnus on 9/1/2016
After testing this shotgun there is nothing bad I can say about it. No misfeeds or jams, fires flawlessly....built on the rpk ak platform , so it is easy to tear down and clean,...with slugs you can cut down small trees in no time....after seeing it in action all my friends want one, and at this price I don't expect Classic Firearms to have them in stock very long,...buy it!
awsome shoty for the money

Great gun, not in original box
Review by bmak on 8/8/2016
This is my second VEPR12 ordered through Classic Firearms. The first one I've put a couple hundred rounds through. It doesn't like low power loads like typical #7 birdshot but no problem cycling 00 buck. Maybe once its broken in, we'll see. Awesome shotgun though. So awesome I bought a second one. The first one came in the original Molot box, wrapped and tucked in from the factory with the manual and accessories in a bag. The second one arrived to my FFL in a plain box with the mag and crinkled up manual my FFL dealer almost forgot to give me. No biggie but I wish I would have known since the second one was for my collection and possible resale in the future. The exact same thing happened with my first Saiga AK, the box even had Russian shipping information on it, pretty cool, the second was plain jane. The original box would have been a nice touch. Future purchases for my collection I am going to call first since I prefer keeping the original box.
Great Shotgun!

Was thinking about getting a Kel-tec KSG. This shotgun brings the business! I had 1 jam out of 75 rounds through it today but it think it was cause of the shell. Other than that, best money I have spent on a gun!
Hell Yeah!!!!
Review by robert on 7/15/2016
Absolutely love this shotgun!!!

Best $700.00 I ever spent on a shotgun.

It cycled everything I threw at it as long as I used the factory magazine. I had a few mishaps with the 12 round mag but it seemed to smooth out after a 100 rounds run through the mag.

Added a few extra parts to it as well:

JTE performance power hammer spring for a smoother trigger pull

Performance recoil spring to run low brass

Immobilizer brake to reduce some of the recoil.

Remington 2 3/4 1200, 1375 2 3/4
Remington Express 00 Buck 2 3/4
Winchester Super X 2 3/4 1200, 1325
Federal Premium Truball slugs
The VEPR 12 is awesome!!!!

Chop it with a rotor
Review by kimono on 5/30/2016
Make this a fantastic weapon by changing-out the fixed tubular struck with an M4 CTR type, using a Rotor fixture (Youtube).

I could't get the second pin out, so chopped the stock off with an angle grinder, so I could bend the pin by beating on it thru the stub with a hammer and screw-driver. Then drilled on the dimpled holes and out the stubs came.

Review by Mike T on 5/8/2016
I purchased my Vepr 12 at the end of October 2015. I did not want to write a review until I had time to put it "through the ringer". Well, I have had the time to put many rounds through it. It's an awesome shotgun.
Many, many people attribute the AK47 family of firearms' reliability to "loose tolerances". Apparently, the Molot factory never got that memo. This thing is built like a tank: a very precise tank. Everything is tight and well fitted, and yet it is still 100% reliable. Just yesterday my friends and I put 60 mixed rounds (slugs, 00B and bird shot) through it without a pause or malfunction. Hi brass, low brass, whatever. It ate it all. It's awesome. Everyone I've shown it to has said "that's awesome". Everyone who has fired it has said "that's just too much fun!".

A note on Classic Firearms. Ordering firearms on line (i.e. sight unseen) is a little unnerving. However my experience with Classic has been entirely positive. I will order from Classic again and do recommend them to my friends.

First time ordering a firearm online and glad I chose CLASSIC FIREARMS! It took a week for the Vepr to come to my FFL dealer, but I live in Minnesnowta so maybe that's why! But they kept me updated the whole way so that was good! Will purchase from classic again!
Great gun, great deal!
Review by Dmytro on 4/21/2016
Totally worth it! Great shotgun at a great price!

Also I would like to mention, that in general gun industry is not very customer friendly. I had two small issues with my orders with Classic Firearms in a past and was super surprised how quickly and professionally they were able to resolve it. I already brought 3 my friends as a customers and will definitely buy more from them!
Thank you, Classic Firearms and specially Janet!
I feel like Stallone in Rambo with this shooter.

This beast makes my AK47 underfolder and the AMD65 I just purchased from Classic feel like pea shooters.

Yes" HOLY VEPR12 BATMAN".

What can I say, the shooting is flawless and an added benefit is probably a marked increase in my testosterone levels.
Who knows,I might grow the tree trunk arms I see Ben sporting in the Classic Firearms videos.

Great Gun, get one while you can!!
Cool
Review by Bass on 4/19/2016
I am definitely pretty happy with this shotgun. Fairly nice and very fun! If this thing doesn't put a smile on your face I don't know what will. Took it out and put a bunch of birdshot and slugs through it after some cleaning/polishing. It ran everything 100% other than the cheap Wallyworld birdshot which it did not like and I was scoring hits on a 2' by 1' target at 100 yards with rifled slugs without optic.

It's a Beast Buy One Now You Chicken
Review by James on 4/11/2016
You need to get one of these now. No, you don't need to ask your wife, just do it girly man. She would spend $700 without asking you, I guarantee it. This thing rocks and eats up shells right out of the box. Stop thinking about it and just buy the damn thing, I'm glad I did. The sights seem dead on and it functions smoothly, it is a pleasure to shoot. I had no problem with the cheek rest as some reviewers noted, I feel they are being picky or sissy like. It's not that heavy and it's kind of short, maybe an inch or so longer than an AK so it handles well. Used an old SKS sling with the leather tongs on the end, perfect. Thank you classic Firearms! Pretty sure that my two dobermans would slow a burglar down, but if not, I think he might be out of luck.

Awesome shotgun!!!
Review by John on 3/25/2016
I read quite a few reviews on this shotgun before making my purchase and I'm not disappointed. This shotgun is extremely well built. Shoots buckshot and slugs fast and smooth. Mine doesn't seem to eject the birdshot but I read that other people experienced that problem also, after breaking in I think it will eventually eject them. The finish on this shotgun is fantastic. It looks a lot like KG Gun Kote but I'm sure it's not. It is extremely durable though and looks great.
I've bought multiple times from Classic and have always been impressed with their customer service. Weapon was at my FFL in less than a week. Email updates through the entire process. You just can't beat that. Thanks Classic for another fantastic buy.
It's fun
Review by Albert on 3/24/2016
First I like everyone else have a load of fun shooting this gun. Every time i take it out my buddies get in line to play. That said lets be honest. This gun ran like crud out of the box. This was not CF's fault its the manufacturers fault. The short of the story is sloppy machining created jagged uneven surfaces on the bolt and hammer that would seize the gun after every shot even on heavy loads. At first I thought it was a mag feed problem but after several range trips and more than a few hours staring at the gun I figured it was indeed the gun that was causing the problems

The solution was I took a drimmel tool, sand paper, and a file to the guts of the gun. After some very aggressive re-profiling of the bolt, hammer, and internal guide rails my VEPR runs like a champ and has no problems with any type or brand of ammo. WARNING doing this to your gun is not safe and could create a runaway gun. You've been warned.

But as said after modification the gun is great and a regular at my range. Everything could have been fixed with aftermarket parts from CSS but I didn't want to pay twice to get one gun.

Even with the frustration of getting her running right I would buy this gun again.
Gotta Get It
Review by Ron on 3/6/2016
Bought the Veper12 from the fine folks at ClassicFirearms and the first time I took it to the range I had a line of folks asking me about the shotgun. I can tell you I was not disappointed. I have shot many weapons in my years and this was impressive. I fed everything from birdshot to slugs with no problem. I bought extra mags and can't wait till someone makes a drum for this beast. Get it while you can! It is my go to shotgun.
Solid Shotgun
Review by dhartford3 on 2/22/2016
First timer with Classic and I was very pleased. Shipping was fast, easy, and communication was outstanding. The shotgun arrived well packaged and as described. The Vepr itself is awesome. I'm not a huge fan of the AK platform but the shotgun is very solid and well put together.
Very pleased with Vepr 12

I just received my VEPR 12 from Classic. My first order through Classic and order was handled very well with excellent communication. Shotgun arrived to FFL timely and well packaged. I based my purchase a lot on the previous reviews and the shotgun is impressive and I'm looking forward to getting it to the range.
WOW! This shotgun is a BEAST!!!
Review by Jeff on 1/15/2016
This is my first semi-automatic shotgun, and what a blast to shoot! Haven't put many shells through it yet but did find out one thing. If you use low recoil shells 1300 ftp or less, it doesn't eject properly. Had read about this somewhere else as well. But if you use shells with higher ftp it ejects and chambers properly. Highly recommended!!!
So badass
Review by brandon on 1/11/2016
This my first vepr and let me tell you. This thing is built like a tank and it eats anything ive put in it. By far the best semi auto shotgun Ive ever shot. And when I took out to the range everyone wanted a turn. So happy with the purchase. Thanks Classic Firearms
Great gun
Review by Stephen on 1/11/2016
The gun is great! It deserves its five stars. I ordered from Classic due to the 100 rounds free. I've also ordered from Classic before and have been very satisfied. I selected the 00 buckshot. I was later called by Janet and told I would receive the slugs due to lack of inventory. I asked if I could wait for more buckshot to be back in stock but was told that was not going to happen. The day I receive my gun, Classic now advertises they only have buckshot in stock. This makes me feel they just wanted to get rid of their slugs. I'm happy with the gun and grateful for free ammo (supplied by the manufacturer, not Classic as I was told from a Classic employee) but unhappy with the service provided by Classic.
Almost awsome.
Review by Russ on 11/24/2015
The stock is not the only change. The ambidextrous AR style safety has been removed to downgrade it to the Saiga level. In order to get even a similar AR style safety, it'll cost you $60+ gunsmithing. To install a folding adapter will be about $100.

There is definantly a feel difference between the new and older versions.

Overall, the removal of the safety has dropped this from a 5 to a 4. The exact same score I would have given the original, completely based on price and value. $800 vs. $1000, goes to show you, you get what you pay for.
More fun than should be allowed.
Review by Dan on 11/15/2015
Love this shotgun. It eats everything I have put through it with out so much a hiccup. Was really surprised when I was consistently putting slugs on target at 150yds on a small silhouette. Worth the money.
More fun than should be allowed
Review by Dan on 11/13/2015
First Classic Firearms once again came through, always a hassle free transaction.
Ok about the gun. This is one of those I bought it just because I wanted it, especially after watching all the videos. It just looked fun and it is. Took it straight to the range with a wide assortment of ammo and it all functioned flawlessly. I even loaded the magazine with five different types and again flawless function. I ran a 100 rds through it without a single malfunction. This shotgun is everything I hoped for and more.
Fun to shoot, does not kick as hard as i expected, solid gun
Review by Joe on 11/12/2015
Put 40 shells through it and minus the SGM mag not feeding the gun reliantly, the Vepr is a hoot to shoot. Im glad i bought it...now all i need to do is figure out if its the ammo thats causing the mag to not feed the gun and or just a defective mag.
Difficult Stock replacement. but can be done.
Review by aaron on 11/4/2015
This is a great gun. But it has an identity crisis. It wants to be both a Pheasant slayer and a Street Sweeper. I have yet to decide on what to do with the barrel. It was begging for an eotech, just mount it far back or ejects hit it.

It did require a little sanding/polishing hammer, bolt carrier, rails etc to get it to feed/eject 100%. but I expect that from Russian guns.

I had my heart set on changing to a M4 stock. It can be done. just suck it up, and start cutting.

Cut out the studs, remove the trunion. Get an Ace internal block. do some serious surgery to the Ace block/Trunion with cutting wheel/grinder, thread some holes. Then lock everything in place using loctite, and threaded machine screws.

Gun is rock solid with my new stock, It is much more sturdy, and has better cheek weld/length/recoil redux
great ak style shotgun
Review by sksguy12 on 10/7/2015
rifle was received quickly from classic great shape, shoots ok accuracy wise while shooting slugs, shoots a little high (1-3 inches) at 50yds with slugs but other than that an overall good mil spec type of shotgun, get one now before the current adm. tries to ban this gun.
Just plain Cool
Review by Frank on 9/23/2015
My review is for the welded folding stock model.Mine had a very small tack weld very easy to remove. Leaving mine just the way I recieved it. Folding stock works great. Feeds ANYTHING I put through it. Works without any hiccupsCould not be happier. The printed box that it came in was even cool. Thanks Classic One of many purchases.
Outstanding value and reliability
Review by Qman on 8/15/2015
Picked this up last month, went out a couple of weeks ago and put it through it's paces - as is - from the factory. Went through several magazines full of different kinds of ammo, no problems whatsoever.
My only concern is whether or not I'll be allow to 3-gun with it.
The 5 round mags worked perfectly, but.. seemed to end to soon. 12 round mags worked well also. Had slight trouble getting them in - I believe it's because neither I, nor those I was with shooting it was used to it. The other guys I was with all had Saigas, they LOVED the Vepr. no problems, shot whatever, without any adjustments at all.
I personally really felt it fit perfectly. Just bringing it up to my shoulder and bam, I'm right on target.
I did notice that it has a HUGE spread for both birdshot (#7 1/2) and 00 buck. I'll be going out again in a couple of week with several other types of 12 gauge and will report back.
The only issue I had, was the documentation. I WAS able to strip and clean it, even though I've done so on a Russian design, due to the instructions, but mostly because most (not all- grrr..!) were listed and marked. But trying to interpret the English was hilarious, and occasionally a bit hard to understand what they where asking me to do.
Overall an excellent buy, and yes I would recommend it.

Shotgun comes with shotgun, 1 magazine, manual, and drift punch. Be careful not to lose the drift punch because it comes wrapped in oiled brown paper. I discovered there is a bolt stop button located between the trigger guard and magwell.
Absolute Beast!!
Review by SJ on 7/1/2015
Bought this from classic firearms a few months ago ( Before they decided to give 100 Free Rds of buckshot with purchase lol ) Absolutely love it. By far the most beastly firearm in my entire collection. I want to quickly address an issue that some people have had with low brass cycling, My particular firearm has no issues properly cycling high or low brass, this may be in part to working on / smoothing the action quite a bit before I put any low brass downrange. I will absolutely recommend this gun to anyone, great build quality and a blast to shoot just watch your shoulder because she will definitely leave her mark
Function test and my personal opinion of the gun and it's features. Overall positive.
Review by TNJoe on 6/13/2015
This shotgun is not perfect out of the box, but it comes very close.
The gun came wrapped in paper and oiled up. It reminded me of some of the Mosins I've unboxed before.
PROS: The length of the stock is great. It's not too short like most AK rifles you buy. The grip is contoured and large enough for my hands. Weighs about as much as a typical 20" Mossberg 500. The shotgun functioned flawlessly with the first 5 rounds of buck I ran through it. Mags feed well and insert when the bolt is closed with ease.
CONS: I have rather large hands, and like Hickok45, I found the safety biting my trigger finger more often than I'd like. The polymer furniture is cheap. Shotgun will not reliably feed the 100 round federal/winchester value packs from Walmart in it's out of the box form. A simple $5 spring replacement will remedy that though.

Overall, this is a great gun for the money. You can make it 99% reliable by only changing the front recoil spring. That's alot cheaper than with the Sagias, AND it already comes configured like an AK. Benefits from the AR type mag well. Can't wait until SGM releases their 25 round drum mag for it.
You could hold off a small army with one of these!
Review by Dr Wallace on 6/5/2015
Awesome weapon and can adapt from OO buck to slugs then bird shot in the same magazine without stopping. I love it! I invite anyone who would like to commit a home invasion against me to come and try. They can bring their friends as well. I bought the 10 rd magazine so I am prepared.
Awesome firepower
Review by Mtcapo on 6/3/2015
This shotgun is pure fun. You do need shells that are 1300fps to cycle correctly every time but shooting it is a thrill. Tons of fun everytime.
Awesome! Get One!
Review by Surly Bob on 6/3/2015
Awesome shotgun. Like others I added a muzzle brake and an abidextrous mag release but what I really like is that all the extra ammo is in a quick change mag and balances the gun better than a semi-auto with an extended mag tube. You can beat any magazine tube fed shotgun on reloads without even trying hard. Plus you can hold more ammo in a 12 rd mag than just about any affordable tube shotgun system I've seen. The fixed tube stock works fine but don't think you can replace it, there is no aftermarket option for that yet. I put in a low recoil spring but it still won't shoot any loads slower than about 1200 FPS without SEVERE modification to the gas system. And if you do that, then any magnum type ammo could damage the gun. Magnum rounds cycle with no problem and recoil is remarkably lighter than expected. So light that I find it easy to stay on target for multiple shots in rapid fire. There are videos on youtube for how to slick the action up for more reliability with light loads. I did that and it works good. Noise is also somewhat reduced by the AK style gas operation since it releases a lot of pressure to run the action. My other shotgun is a Benelli SBE II and this shotgun runs just as fast and with similar recoil. It also patterns well. All in all, I advise you to buy one of these while you can. It is a serious piece of firepower and won't be around forever at this price. If you were putting this off like I was, jump on this price now!
Great shotgun, but you won't be changing out the stock anytime soon
Review by Timothy on 5/28/2015
I bought this shotgun with the intention of replacing the fixed stock with an M4 style folding stock from SCSS or Bonesteel. Unfortunately I've found out after purchasing this firearm that the fixed tubular stock doesn't come off without drilling out pins and doing some modification to the gun. No one makes adaptors yet either for this version. So if you're buying with the intent to replace the stock, I'd wait.
SBS Monster
Review by USMarine1058 on 5/27/2015
I looked at these for a few years and finally purchased one from Classic last November. I immediately sent in a Form 1 to ATF along with the $200 to SBS the rig.....and waited. Anyway, the price had come down from $1000, so I had to jump. At the time paid $899, which considering what you get in this Molot masterpiece was very low; super low in fact. Now its $799?? Whaaaaat?

This is one of those awesome guns and deals that in time you will kick yourself for not forking over funds to purchase. The only expense will be the Russian mags over 5 rounds. They are rare and very pricey. SGM makes "cheaper" US mags, but they are difficult to insert. The Russian mags are perfect. You get what you pay for in this case, but not with the gun. The gun is cheap, but built like a bank vault and shoots like a beast.

Before my stamp came back I shot hundreds of shells through it. All brands and all types of loads whether dove loads, buck or slug; old and new and up to 3". I only had a few stove pipes initially with some old bird shot that had been baking in my garage for over 10 summers. However, all the buck and slug blasted out fine and with no issue.

When the stamp came back, and I had the tube cut, crowned and re-threaded to 14", the smith had to do a mod on the gas port since the "hang time" was way less from the gas port to the end of the barrel. Once the gas port was opened up a bit, I could shoot cheap bird shot once more. In fact, there isn't just one hole or port, there are several ports. Interesting.

This gun is amazing; Russian Molot manufactured, folding stock, 12 gauge, self regulating gas system magazine fed monster. Taking it to the range gets me way too much attention. I get two looks; what the F is that thing? and Wow, I want one. As an SBS it really shines, but if that is not an option for you and you can get over the 3' long barrel pointing out to the north 40, its a great gun that shoots birdshot and everything above. In short, its fun and affordable and will probably go away soon. Get one now.
Awesome
Review by Terry on 5/19/2015
This is well built AK product. I have Aresenal Russian and Bulgerians so I have a good example to compare to. Finish is nice with good paint. Finish at this time is unknown. After initial inspection and lube "broke in". Used 25 '00' buck from Estate, mixed in with Winchester Super Speed bird shot at 1350 fps. Had zero issues with those two. Sights were dead on at 50 using a 7/8 oz slugs. The only issue I had were two fte's with Win universal bulk pack wal-mart cheap stuff at 1200 fps 2 out of 30. When they ejected they didn't go as far. These two were both fired from a SGM 12 round (which so far has not held the bolt open) so the failure to eject may be the fault of the SGM magazine. So far I have about 100 rounds through the shotgun and all I have to say is that this has to be the coolest shotgun ever. My only complaint so far is that I wish they would use a standard AK side rail for optics.
Solid and well made
Review by David on 5/15/2015
I ordered this shotgun on April 28th at midnight and received it on May 12th. Shotgun was well protected and packaged in original box. Fit and finish are fantastic!! Deep, even black finish and everything is very tight out of the box (safety and hinged top cover) it feels very well made. It has the fixed stock but that is just fine by me as I'm not a fan of folding stocks, so if you are wanting to add the folder this may not be the version for you, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice at this price point. Have not had a chance to actually fire it but I have a feeling it will perform well. I'll try to update my review after firing it some and maybe add some media.
vepr 12 both fixed tube and folding
Review by Ashethedivine on 5/6/2015
I purchased both the vepr 12 in the folding tube stock and fixed tube stock. Pre warning, there are not a lot of options for the fixed tube stock. They don't have a lot of stock options for the vepr's to begin with. When the magazines are on sale, buy as many as you can afford, you will not regret it. The 10-12 rd mags are not really worth the $50 price point, unless you have a need. They so far operate well, but with a few hiccups. These do have a break in period, so don't be concerned if you have a few (sometimes a lot) of fail to fully extract. It was about 60 rounds before it became reliable. It went from - cant keep it running through a whole mag, to - cant make it not run. I also am running federal 7.5 shot 3 1/2 dr eq. 1 1/8oz shells. The magazines run both 2 3/4 and 3" shells well, the drum is only 2 3/4". These Vepr's are great rifles, well built, great features (mag well, hinged cover, self adjusting gas, thumb safety extension, ambi safe on folder version) few supporting websites available though. Hopefully they will get more aftermarket/US parts manufactures in time. If you want a shotgun that is not length constrained to round count, these are the way to go. PSA has a mag run shottie for less, but this is worth the extra. Buy right the first time and only cry once. Classic firearms is great to deal with. They do run a little behind when there are a lot of orders.
well built

Review by Veprthrill on 4/9/2015
First off, Classic is a great company to deal with! They keep you informed through the whole process; I will definitely order from them again in the future. Now for the VEPR--this is one hell of a shotgun. Flawless fit and finish, beautifully machined. For $799 you simply cannot beat it. This tank is SOLID! Get one and you will love it. Thanks Classic!
This is a war machine !!!
Review by jeremiah on 4/1/2015
Wow !!! First let me say that classic firearms were great and will recieve buiness from me in the future. Now to the good stuff. First thing out of the box you just feel the solid quality of this monster. It is soaked in oil but hey, I like cleaning my guns a lot so I enjoyed taking it apart, cleaning and working the action to smooth it up some. I ran 20 rounds of # 4 buckshot then 10 rounds of slugs work her in before moving to birdshot. Ran 50 rounds of cheap #4 game load from winchester before my shoulder called it a day.... not one issue. Completely reliable so far which I love. Also love the box style mag reciever which makes for fast reloads. Got 2 10 round mags with shotgun and the fed the machine without issue. Bottom line here folks, at 799.00 you really should not pass this up. Worth every single penny, and this is the cheapest you will find it anywhere I believe. If you are on the edge then jump, you will not regret it. Plus I really dont know how long these will be available, so keep that in mind. Easily my favorite shotgun now (sorry 870).
VEPR 12 tubular stock removal
Review by anotherdreamer on 3/30/2015
Love this shotgun but want to make everyone aware that it will be very difficult to put aftermarket folding stock on this one. The stocks are riveted in position and the rivets would have to be removed at much expense and the holes filled. The gun would never look the same. Other than this an excellent shotgun and I can live with the FIXED stock. Classic is great to do business with but they need to state this on their ad.

I ordered this weapon on a Thursday, it shipped the next monday, and I picked it up on wednesday. This shotgun is really well made and it is awesome. I cant wait to take it to the range and try it out. If you haven't bought one yet and still wanting to but haven't pulled the trigger yet, you need too.
Spectacular !

Classicfirearms is great to deal with and the Vepr 12 is one of great tactical shot guns out there!!!!!
Review by James on 3/22/2015
I bought my Vepr on 3/04/15 and received it on 3/20/15 this was due to bad weather and Classicfirearms trying to catch up on orders. Overall I am very happy doing business with Classicfirearms and will be ordering from them again.
The Vepr 12 gauge Is everything Classicfirearms and all the reviews say it is and more. I would have to say it is one of the great tactical shot guns out today. I put over 150 rounds through it today with mixed ammo and it ran perfect!!!! . I only had one problem and it was with the magazine the metal clip that the mag release holds on to came off while shooting and drop the magizine. It was an easy fix put the metal clip back on to the magazine and was up and running again in two minutes.
This is a great shotgun and would recommend it to anyone looking for semi automatic.
Better than expected

As reviewed, this gun will shoot whatever loads you feed it.
Very fun to shoot, and a good deal at that price.

Hands down worh the wait. Amzing firearm accuracy is outstanding at 25 yards zero in on those steel sights and destroy whatever is in the way . Great craftsminship . Most fun i had at the range since my early years !!! 6 inch black and blue from 75 slugs on my right shoulder not one complication fed those 2 3/4 slugs like a hungry hippo . Couldnt be happier with my purchase . Thanks again classic firearms not the first and by far the last transaction with you guys !!
Totally worth my 799.00
Review by Tab on 3/12/2015
I got the Vepr 12 for 799.00 thinking it was the best deal on one I have seen in years. All I can say is this shot gun is pure fun and serious business if you are on the wrong end of the barrel. I had zero issues with the Winchester Double OO and Slugs that I put down range. After 60 rounds I was sore as could be though. I highly recommend a 20.00 buttpad from Wal-Mart to soften the recoil.

If you have ever thought of getting one don't hesitate and pick up a 12 round magazine as well its just to much fun.
Classic Firearms 5 stars Molot 3 stars
Review by John on 3/12/2015
I just received My Molot VEPR 12. Let me say first I am pleased with the service I received from Classic Firearms. On the other hand I was less satisfied with the Molot company. My rifle came out of the box with scratches in the finish, and a spot with no finish. The finish on the dust cover release also started coming off after opening it a few times. This thing was well wrapped in bubble wrap (oblivious someone had eyes on the gun with finish issues and it still went out) The cheek weld pad is useless, because it raises your line of sight above the sights. This may work better with a rail attached site. I personally don't want to add a site, especially to a plastic rail on a shotgun. The safety lever is cumbersome, difficult to operate and is wearing a groove in the thin finish as well (may be standard for AK/RPK) overall the gun is fairly solid, but I would not call it a Mercedes Benz. Like I stated before Classic seems to be a well run company, Just don't expect a perfect product out of the box from Molot. After emailing Classic about the finish issue I promptly received this response "Unfortunately I have seen several with scratches on them. Please advise..." Still a good buy, just thought some would appreciate this info.
Ridiculous!
Review by Bryan on 3/8/2015
This thing is just beastly. I ordered mine along with 2 aftermarket 12-round magazines. When it arrived at my FFL other customers in the shop were turning heads at this thing! I took it out to the range and this thing is just powerful. It loves full 00 buck loads and slugs. Very smooth cycling although I plan on upgrading a few of the internals ( just for my own preferences, everything stock in this weapon are flawless ).

If you want a really great AK platformed firearm for home defense or for the range or for anything else really, go for this one. You can't beat it, and the price is ridiculously low right now. Awesome customer service from Classicfirearms, I will def be ordering more from you guys/gals.

First of all classic was awesome!!! During shipping my gun got caught in the bad winter storms and it still made it here really fast. The vepr 12 is everything that I expected from the ak platform and more. Shooting the cheapest birdshot I can find I have had zero malfunctions, the gun just plain shoots great!!!

The best there is!
Review by VanessaLaidig on 2/19/2015
My Vepr-12 arrived yesterday. I picked it up at Shooters World in Tampa. They disassembled it, lubed it up, and installed the Molot muzzle brake. I have never fired anything like it. With the brake, it is literally neutral. The US brake is slightly cheaper, but in various videos, it seemed to be not as effective as the Molot. Out of the box, it was slightly high, and one click right at 35 yards. So one click left and moved the target out to 50 yards and it is dead center. Thank you Classic. What a CLASS outfit!
jam, jam,jam
Review by Mike on 2/13/2015
Since I got this vepr, after a long and stressful wait, all im having is jam and zero fun. I tried several different types of ammo and it keeps jamming, either doesn't feed right or won't eject the shell. And on most cases the shell shows a deep cut that I think is caused by the carrier.

Maybe I got a crap gun, but all I know is that every time I take it to the range, is pure sadness.

I hope that after a lot more rounda it will get better and than I'll update this review, for now I keep the score.
Better than I expected!

I ordered two of these shotguns I am used to Mossberg 500's, lets just say I'm not a Mossberg guy anymore! These guns have me hooked. I haven't shot them yet, but they arrived packaged and packed great and came intact from Classic. Theres nothing cheap or flimsy about these brutes.
Glad I bought one
Review by USMarine1058 on 2/7/2015
The AKM is my weapon of choice, even though I was brought up on the M16A2. You can not beat an AK for "working." Therefore, being an AK guy I have always wanted an AK style shotgun. I have been eyeballing the Vepr 12 for a few years, but haven't "pulled the trigger," and did not buy one because there wasn't any urgency to do so. Unfortunately, in July 2014 the Obama Regime forced upon me the urgency I lacked via Dictatorial Order, and I responded by whipping out the credit card. I'm glad I whipped it out. The Vepr 12 is an awesome shotgun, which not only looks cool but feels solid and is of very high quality. This fact is obvious when you handle it. I chose the Vepr12 instead of the Saiga12 due to the reviews that stated the Vepr will run (both) low-base dove loads and 3" goose magnums reliably; that's no BS. I ran approximately 250 shells or various dram, shot size, base size, manufacturer, etc.; It ate everything. It cycled and ejected everything with no issues, save two stove pipes within the first 20 shells, which I attributed to the gun being new and needing to be blasted into shape. After the initial SP's (which were old dove loads) it was fine. The only negatives would be the lame 5 round mag, 3 foot barrel and spot welded-open stock. Of course this is a result of our dumb import laws. 8, 10 and 12 round "tree branch" sized mags are available. I found the 10 rounder's are a great compromise between the little 5 rounder and the railroad tie sized 12's.
In addition, This gun wants to be SBS'd. I cant wait for my Form 1 to return from the ATF to get the barrel to it's intended length. If you were on the fence about buying this gun, don't wait until they at $2,000. The price point is great at $899. The Vepr 12 is an amazing product.
This is all the shotgun you need
Review by Ralph on 2/3/2015
I love this gun! If you want a shotgun built on the AK pattern, look no further. I hope they will still be available in the future but if there is one in stock, don't hesitate to get it. Runs great right out the box. Plenty of mods available to add your own touch.
GREAT Customer Service...Great Gun
Review by Dre on 2/1/2015
First off, I would like to talk about Classic before I talk about the gun. The gun sells itself. Companies like this are rare. I don't have enough good things to say about Amber that took all my calls. Never was I put on hold, never did she have to check with someone else for anything, she always had the answer.

The owner is pretty awesome too, he is a man of his word. The guy had numerous request and made through on the request for his customer.

If I'm in the market for a long gun and Classic has it, they will always get my sale.

There are enough reviews on the gun so I won't do that. Classic Fire Arms does great business!!!!
Fantastically Awesome Gun

A++ Shotgun!
Review by Andrew on 1/14/2015
Best shotgun on the market yet. Compared to other semi-autos this one has all the features right out of the box. I have run about 100 rounds of various brands and loads through this beast with only one hiccup. It failed to hold the bolt open at the end of one magazine. I do plan many 922r upgrades, but don't let that fool you, out of the box, she is a performer!
Excellent shotgun
Review by Chris on 12/14/2014
This was my first online firearm purchase and classicfirearms made it very nice. It was shipped quick and free. This gun ROCKS! I cleaned it when I got it and didn't take it out shooting for a couple months but when I did, I put about 100-125 shells through it with out any problems. It just works. And break down was so easy I decided to get an ak 47 before my first ar. Love this gun, if you ever get a chance to pick one up don't hesitate

Top of the line...
Review by Eric on 7/21/2014
The fit and finish of my Vepr 12 was superb. Be prepared to break it in or avoid cheap big box store shells. There are more than enough tutorials on smoothing out the action for reliability. However, after a relatively short (150 rds) and extremely fun break in, it functions great.

I exchanged all of the necessary 922r parts so that I could break the superficial tack weld and fold the stock. Well worth it.

Don't hesitate. Buy it if they ever make it back to "in stock" status.
Thanks

Review by Matt on 7/8/2014
I actually bought this a number of months ago (before the price drop, of course!), but weather & work kept me from taking it out. Between purchase and "fun time" I improved on the design with upgrades: muzzle brake, quad rail, etc. Also made the folding stock functional. That was super easy! Ivan was kind enough to put the one single weld at the corner, making it easily accessible with a Dremel tool; took less than 30 seconds start to finish.
At the range I had a couple of original Russian mags and a U.S. SGM 10rnd. All functioned 100%. My buddy and I had a blast (pun fully intended) with this!! No FTE, FTF, double feeds, etc. Every time the trigger was pulled it went bang. I was using low brass shells also, FWIW. This thing is so much fun to shoot it should be illegal.......which is exactly why you should get one, before "they" try to tell you that you can't have one.
Vepr 12 Review
Review by Bill on 7/1/2014
I received my Vepr 12 a week ago along with other parts I bought to make it 922r compliant. Took it out and shot it first to see how it would shoot before modifying. After shooting (multiple brands, sizes, shot, slug, etc.) I made my modification then took it back out. The Vepr 12 shoots very reliable and only had a couple of issues with types of shells. It did not like low brass 8 shot (but that's not why I bought it but wanted to try it out anyway) and FTE every other round. Stronger shells such as high brass, buckshot, slugs, etc., the Vepr ate everything. I also mixed sizes of shells from 2 2/4 to 3" shells in one mag with no issues, again, ate everything. Bolt hold open on last round worked everytime using SMG mags (both 10 and 12 rounders). The orginal 5 rounder also no issues except that it fell out after 4 shots the first time I fired it but I believe that was me not seating the mag right as it never happend again after that. Overall, it runs as advertised and suspect that after several hundreds of rounds, it will eat the lighter loads as well. The finish was excellent and quality superior in my opinion (to other tactical shotguns to inlude the Siaga). Great value for the money (and free shipping) and thanks for Classic making it an easy and painless process per usual. Cheers!

Nice but not perfect
Review by Sapperchaplain on 6/4/2014
This is my second VEPR from Classic Firearms and as always service and commo was great. I bought it for the claim to self adjust for all rounds...not the case. This weapon like the other VEPR I purchased did not cycle Wal-Mart Winchester Universal value pack ammo...even after 100s of rounds of 00Buck, polished bolt and trigger and hundreds more of the cheap Winchester ammo...and yes this was true for factory magazines as well as SGM ones. Both VEPRs were inconsistent with the bolt not locking to the rear after the last round. It is a well built weapon and the magazine well is an upgrade from any other AK variant shotgun...but for the money I would just buy a SAIGA and adjust for low brass rounds rather than spend hundreds more on a VEPR that has issues with them when it is supposed to work with everything.
Great Shotgun! Loads of Fun!
Review by Andy on 6/2/2014
Highly reccomend over Saiga 12s. Saiga 12s are great shotguns too but with the features and upgrades of this shotgun, theyre no contest. It has cycled everything ammo wise even low brass target loads. I like the Benelli M4s, but this is practically half the price and is loaded with detachable magazines rather than a tube. Completely different than conventional shotguns and I like it. Im getting a choke and a GK-01 clone muzzle brake and it ll be perfect.

I will start with a confession, I did not like shotguns. If I was to ever own one the vepr12 was it, I remember saying this back when they still ran $1200. Now, it is the first firearm I grab when going to the range, it is an amazing piece that is just fun to shoot. My will shoot anything down to winchester universal, although I will say it ran much better after shooting some slugs through it. As usual, thanks classic.
Nice shotgun
Review by jjjxlr8 on 5/17/2014
Great shotgun and highly recommended if you want a military style semi-auto. I've tried several different types of shells in it and only two would not work (Winchester Universal and Federal Game Load).

I don't like the sharp sheet-metal safety lever extensions, but other than that the ergonomics are excellent.

This shotgun is a bargain at $800. Get one while you still can!

Wow. Bought this over a month ago, but just got a chance to shoot it today. Fired 125 rounds of 00 buckshot without a hiccup. Smooth as silk. Used the 5 round factory mag and some SGM tactical 12 and 10 round mags. Flawless. On the SGM mags bolt did not lock back on empty 50% of the time. Almost ordered the Saiga 12. I'm sure it's a great gun also. I chose the Vepr 12. The price I thought to be a type over but price was right.$799.00. Beautiful gun to add to my collection. We should be thankful that we still have people that can still take care of us like Classic. Will not be my last purchase from Classic Firearms. Trust and delivery time was exceptional. This is a very nice auto loading shotgun. Looks like it has the RPK Rear sight and trunions /receiver. The fit & finish are really good for this price point. I would have expected to pay a lot more for shotgun like this.

I read a review (not from classic) and they guy said there was no bolt hold open. Well, if you
look in front of the trigger guard behind the mag release you will find one!

Very nice indeed.

So for the records I have yet to fire this weapon so can't comment yet on that. I can however comment on just much a quality item this shotgun is. Everything about it is well made. Did several modifications to make it 922r complaint after I broke the weld and got hi cap mags. Also bolted a magpul l5 rail on lower handguard so I can now attach for grips which I recommend. Overall one of the best shotguns for the money. Now all I got to do is shoot the damn thing :)

I had eyes on this since it came out and I finally went over the edge and ordered it from Classic Firearms. I ordered less than a week before the price dropped from $999.99 to $799.99 and I hadn't yet received the shotgun when the price was lowered. But, thanks to Classic Firearms being an outstanding company they extended that price to me. I immediately liked everything about this shotgun when it came in, but that was just the beginning. I finally recently went to the range and shot about 75 rounds out of this with 00 buck, slugs, 3" magnums, and about 25 birdshot. I had 0 malfunctions. Out of reading other people's experiences, I was expecting to maybe have an early issue since I was breaking this shotgun in, but everything went flawlessly. I can't complain one bit. I was thinking about getting a Remington 11-87P for the longest time there for a home defense shotgun, but I don't think you can beat this. The most important thing to me was reliability, but after one trip to the range I was impressed.
Excellent!
Review by Vepr1212 on 4/12/2014
Excellent firearm. Fit and finish is excellent for a Russian AK Style shotgun. Folding stock latch absolutely works (Contrary to what other reviewer said on this site). Push hard on the stock release latch until it moves. You may have to wrestle with it the first time (Mine was a bit “stuck”). Wear a glove if you’ve got baby skin on your thumb. If you're worried about breaking it, don't be, it’s normal. Be sure you know and comply with all laws (google “VEPR 922r”) before modifying this shotgun to allow the stock to fold. The parts you will need to purchase and replace can add significant cost to this firearm but are all nice improvements over the russian made parts.

I bought one of these at $999.00 and it is a great weapon ,,,,,, especially compared to a custom mod of a Saiga 12.

8 round orig Russian magazines available on web.

One Caveat....The stock can not be made to fold, despite jiv from web-surfers to the contrary.

You just don't dremel a spot weld. The tip-off is the latch for the stock does not travel, which it would if it was free and all you had to deal with is a bit of welding on the hinge seam.

A great combat shotgun with a skeleton stock that has a mag well like an AR15...straight in and lock-up and much lighter than a Saiga 12 and also has AK type forearm and a rail on top.

Excellent Piece
Review by Hotdigittydog on 4/2/2014
I have had this piece in my sights for sometime now and finally decided to take the plunge. I first saw it when it came on the market for $1399.00 and all the reviews said it was too expensive although the reviews were good it was still a little pricey in comparison to the Saiga. I purchased it about a month ago for $999.00 and saw a video online about "tricking" it out and proceeded to acquire all the necessary pieces and upgrades to make it happen. I actually received most of the parts before I received actual shotgun. I recently had a chance to install all the parts and this is one cool weapon, the beast comes alive. On Friday I received an email from Classic that the price has come down to $799.00, I actually could have gone a long while without receiving that, it really made my weekend. I use Gunwatcher a lot and now everyone has brought the down to $799.00, talk about price fixing. They get you coming and going.........sort of takes the sweetness out of it.

Do yourself a favor and track down the 25 round drum for this thing....it is so much fun at playtime. Mine did not like 7 & 8 shot bulk pack ammo but I polished the FCG and it eats pretty much anything now. If you don't know how to do that or don't wanna fool with it run some stronger loads like 4 shot or harder for a little while and that will break it in for the same effect. Smile is stuck on my face ! Thanks Classic!

Nice but not perfect
Review by Whiskeytango on 3/17/2014
Just a follow up to my last review I have run a couple hunderd rounds through my VEPR and it fires well...it still has periodic hiccups with Wal-Mart Winchester 8 shot value pack ammo and the bolt does not lock to the rear when the magazine is empty...other than that it is an awesome shotgun. Would recommend getting a choke if you are going to shot skeet with it.
Molot VEPR 12 guage is everything I wanted it to be.
Review by SPQR on 3/13/2014
I just received my brand new VEPR and I shot it right out of the box with no cleaning and cheap 00 buckshot. Since most parts are stamped like normal AK's are, and this is a round about AK platform, it was about a 6 round break in period, I'm assuming to a few rough edges and 2 FTF's. BOOM. Then I never had an issue. Couldn't be happier. Put 24 more rounds through it without a hiccup. Cheek rest is nice, stock is barely welded to fixed. I just need to use my dremel and I'll have it folding in a few minutes. Control is wonderful, it does kick but the BCG does a good job taking a lot of the force. I'll be on the lookout for a muzzle break, I want it a little easier. Only took a week to ship from NC to OH. Everyone I've shown and told about wants one now. Made the guy with the AK at the range jealous. It's good to be the king. Hats off to Classic Firearms for all my newfound joy.
Must have !

Vepr 12
Review by phthorla on 2/20/2014
review could be summed up into 6 words " love it, love it, love it". this is what happens when you take Russian craftsmanship 12 gauge and testosterone and mix it all up. Action is smooth and recoil is really not bad. I have shot almost everything between seven and a half bird shot through deer slug. The only thing I have not shot through it yet is low brass (Walmart cheap shells). But i will be testing that next week. I also added a Molot style muzzle brake, which really helps keep sights on target when you're pulling that trigger as fast as possible. Took a couple runs through mags to loosen them up, but runs like a champ now. Thanks Classic Firearms.
Awesome shotgun
Review by dproctor15 on 2/5/2014
I liked it enough to purchase two. This shotgun is accurate as described. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it needs a little tweaking. I found that it will cycle any low brass shells after breaking it in. Mine cycles fine as long as you have a good shoulder weld. The cheek riser is too high for the iron sights but the correct height for an optic. The easy solution is to flip it to the opposite side for iron sights. I replaced the trigger with a g2 and the difference is minimal, it is 3 US parts tho :). The threaded barrel is begging for a choke. The current set up is good for home defense/short range shooting. But with the extra full choke, I feel comfortable with the pattern out to 40 to 50+ yards for hunting or 3 gun courses. The factory 5 round mag was junk on both of the V12 I bought. They continually fall out when firing. The SMG 12 rounders I bought work flawlessly tho. I polished the bolt/bolt carrier on one of my V12 and not the other to compare them. The polished V12 cycles low brass better, especially with the stock folded, and the factory mags have not ejected since then.

Long story short. Buy the V12, Polish the bolt/bolt carrier, get 922r compliant, get a choke or muzzle brake, own one of the best shotguns ever.
maybe second thoughts
Review by Whiskeytango on 2/3/2014
After looking at the Saiga and Fury options I opted for the VEPR at about twice the cost. I purchased this for the claim that it fired everything and I would not need a gas tube adjustment...well the WalMart Winchester 100 pack 8 shot shells would jam and have feed issues periodically, so is that just really bad ammo? I used both 5 round clips and a 10 and 12 round one, the 12 round seemed a bit cumbersome to seat at times but all the magazines feed and loaded rounds without issue. I am looking forward to the upcoming 25 round drum. While the magazine well is much better upgrade than the Saiga and Fury I dont know if it justifies twice the price. In the end I am happy with the weapon but not sure it is worth twice the money as the Saiga or Fury.
Unbelievably Beautiful

When I finally received the Molot Vepr 12 Shotgun from my FFL, my order took almost near a month, Besides the 2-5 round Magazine, I also ordered one of each SGM 10 & 12 round magazines, but the 12 round mag was not available. Kinda saddened, I had just wished someone at Classic Firearm would have called rather than delay an order, as I did. But I didn't let that bother me. I called and they took care of my order...next thing I read was that Classic Firearm immediately shipped my order and within days...it arrived at my state. I was astounded by the fact that it felt solid, very solid...tight, clean, parts complete. smooth when testing the bolt action...it was worth the wait. I ordered the Molot Gk-01 Muzzle Brake two weeks earlier, and when mating both, it was too awesome. Tell me something...I threw the oiled paper...and I found a punch tool. I didn't know that that was included....I tought it was just paper. So if you ever order this, please check your order...you might be lucky to have one.
Love this shotgun!
Review by Toos on 1/26/2014
I can see what they mean when they call this the Cadillac of Russian shotguns. Finish inside and out is excellent. It digests everything I put into it, including WalMart Federal 100 pack ammo. Only the WalMart Winchester 100 pack shells seem to make it choke and that may improve as the gun wears in. Buckshot, hunting birdshot and slugs run flawlessly. I am really loving this shotgun! Highly recommended. Now SGM needs to make a 12 rd drum and it will be perfect.
Built like a tank - but mag issues so far.
Review by nspirals on 1/3/2014
This beast is truly high quality. The receiver is solid and heavy, fit and finish is great. Shoots fantastic with all loads, including light birdshot. My only issue so far is that the SGM 10 and 12 round mags I bought with it do not function properly. Classic's staff quickly got me in touch with SGM's and they have identified the problem with their injection molds and are sending me two new mags. However, this review is for the factory rifle with the factory magazines and that deserves five stars. Just a word of caution for those considering the cheaper SGM mags that they might have issues.
Excellent shotgun
Review by Rok on 1/2/2014
I've been checking this shotgun out for about a year, then, 2 months ago at my range, a fellow shooter came in with the wood stock version and I was able to shoot 12 rounds and that was it. Classic Firearms had it on sale and I bought it. I've put almost 200 mixed rounds through without some much as one failure. PLUS, mine came with the welded rail buttstock which had a weld the size of a pencil eraser and well, darn it, it accidently broke, leaving the weapon as it should be but I did place on a US muzzle brake AND 10 round mag to make the ATF Feinstein all giddy and euphoric.
Stellar piece of weapontry workmanship
Review by Rok on 12/29/2013
From the first time I saw this weapon I was immediately drawn to and wanted it but I took my time, read a myriad of reviews and then, actually while at the range had the chance to shoot one with a wood butt stock. Based on the owners remarks and the 12 rounds he allowed me to put through, I had to have it.
Excellently wicked, the first 150 rounds fired were 2.75 - 3.00 inch bird, buck, and slugs without so much a hick-up. Get it, and you too will be thrilled.
Vepre 12 reliability
Review by Paul on 12/28/2013
Bought this Vepre 12 awhile ago now.It is a fun shotgun to shoot and handles even low base 8 shot trap loads.Let a few people at the range shoot it,and only one guy had trouble because he didn't have the magazine seated till it clicked into the locked position.Once we seen what he was doing wrong we corrected him and he enjoyed it as much as the rest of us. The shipping was prompt and the transaction was excellent. Well made gun it's like a AK47 12 gauge. Thanks, Classic Arms.
This is the best auto loading shotgun on the market, bar none!

Stellar Russian 12 Gauge
Review by rokmon9 on 12/27/2013
Like many people, I'm guessing, after I saw this weapon, I thought I'd like to own one of these but I don't rush into buying an $1100 shotgun on a whim. I read many forums regarding the Vepr 12 and last month at my local range I saw one. I asked a myriad of questions including his dislikes, he paid $1359 for his over a year ago and even so, he was stoked with its performance, ability to shoot everything, including loss brass shells. He allowed me to fire 12 rounds. His Molot was dressed in a muzzle brake, Red dot sight, and 12 round magazine. That was it, I HAD to have one and with Classic's sale price it seemed karma. I've put 100 rounds through mine and my only gripe is, I wish I had several thousand more to burn through, It's accurate, flawless, and just freakin' wicked.

As everyone else has said, the Vepr 12 is beyond belief! It will cycle any ammo you feed it. I use the 5 round mags that came with it and I also have 2 10 round mags. They all feed the Vepr flawlessly. I recommend the Vepr very highly! You wont regret the purchase.

The Ferrari
Review by mike on 7/7/2013
The VEPR 12 is the greatest home defense weapon on the market today. This gun ate every kind of 12 Gauge ammo I had in stock flawlessly! Straight out of the box at 25 Yards We put four 3" slugs on top of each other using the standard AK sights that come with gun. We cycled rounds continuously using 2 Molot 5 round mags,2 Molot 8 round mags, and an SGM Tactical 10 round mag. All the magazines and different rounds fed flawlessly!I let one of the range officers cut loose with 3 mags and have no doubt in my mind he will be buying one soon. The VEPR 12 is some serious Russian whoop ass and I will be buying several more for my collection. Thank you Classic Firearms for your professionalism and quick delivery of this 12 gauge Masterpiece! It is a multi purpose shotgun that can be used for just about everything. God Bless,Mike
