Solid gun, flawless performance, excellent accuracy especially for an AK.
Review by Tim on 10/6/2014
Picked up this gun a while back and put a few dozen rounds through it - performed flawlessly. Then I decided to take advantage of the side rail, so I bought the scope package from Classic Firearms consisting of the UTG picatinny rail and a Barska 3-9 x 40 scope. Now I can consistently shoot 2" groups at 100 yards and 4" groups at 200 yards from the bench. This was beyond my expectation for an AK. My only criticism is that I have the scope as far forward as it will go and the required eye relief makes me pull my head back from where it would be naturally. I plan to correct this by extending the butt stock by an inch or so. You may want to consider a different scope, but keep in mind the release lever for the gas tube. The Barska allows you to flip the lever up all the way even with the scope as far forward as it will go. If you get a scope with a larger objective, it may get in the way. But if you get something that requires less eye relief, then you may not have to push it so far forward, eliminating any possibility for interference.

The gun itself is what it's supposed to be, or better. Nice, clean trigger break. No miss feeds with about a hundred rounds fired so far. More accurate than I expected it to be. A great gun for the money.
Great rifle

Thank you classic firearms
Great rifle with a catch
Review by TJ on 4/20/2014
Great rifle compared to my prior Romanian. Fit and finish great... Well in the video you can see where a burr was. It looks as if something very solid struck the side of the barrel creating the burr. It just appears to be cosmetic. Took it shooting today and unbeknownst to me the detent for the compensator came off. The comp stayed put though and did know the detent was gone till I went to clean it. It appears the front pin for the sight walked out a few mm. Of course I saw the pin before the detent and set it back. I sent off an email to Century so I hope they can replace the items. I hope they would send it to me instead of having to mail off the gun. Yet, despite this current issue 19APR14 I love this rifle. Groups were excellent today.
Fantastic firearm

I’ve had this ak going on 3 years and it’s a tank, ate everything I put through it, from steel to brass, have Croatian Mags to yugo steel and magpul and tapco, all work great, tapco get’s a lil sliced, you gotta search for aftermarket furniture but utg’s quad rail and magpul’s furniture options are excellent, the zukhov stocks are awesome, very accurate at the 100 and 50 yard ranges I get it at, headshots are easy, great price, very good quality, stock furniture punches you in the face for iron sights, need scope for good cheek hold, but it has a nice scope rail, bought this rifle and several handguns for classic, always a good deal and good selection!
AK at its finest.
Review by Charles on 10/20/2017
Received my rifle today. When I opened the box and glanced inside, a flood of memories came washing over me because the last time I saw one of these types of rifles, it was spitting out tracer rounds at me that looked like they were the size of golf balls. That was in 1967 in the central highlands of Vietnam and thank god they missed. Ever since that day , I told myself that one day I would have me one of them. Well now I have one and I can't say enough about how happy I am with it. Can't wait to get it to the range to see what it it feels like to be behind one of these brutes instead of in front of it. Thank you Classic Firearms for the great AK. This is really a high quality rifle that will be treasured and passed down to my grandson. Thanks again!!!!
Great AK
Review by Peter on 9/29/2017
First AK purchase. You tubers AK Operaters Union and Nutnfancy were a big influence.
Gun I received looks very clean. No noted front sight cant. Bolt, op rod and receiver have same serial numbers. Finish on metal parts looks very uniform. The butt stock has been changed to more conventional AK style with a sling swivel! So should be no "cheek slap".
I must comment on the one thing that gets me. The wood furniture fitment really sucks as does the finish. Certainly not walnut! I realize it's a combat weapon but the wood to steel fitment could have been much better. If this is my only bitch, I've got one nice AK.
No lock, I thought this was required by law. No big deal for me, as I have no kids. Just a note.
Reliable, great value

No miss fires, no failure to feed or jams. Running hundreds of cheap ammo, not one issue. Good quality, furniture is very nicely finished.
Good Experience
Review by Jeff on 9/12/2017
Nice AK! My first and I am happy. The front stock had a dent in it when I picked it up. Box was not damaged at all. Not bad, I'll live with it. It also did not have a rubber butt pad like I saw in pictures. But again, not that big a deal. My first experience with Classic Firearms and probably won't be the last. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and my experience with Classic.
Followup review - owned for 3 years now
Review by C on 8/25/2017
This is a followup review. I've owned one of these in lo-cap for 3 years now. Due to my poor eyesight, a few months ago I added a UTG sidemount and CenterPoint 4-16x scope on it, and suddenly I'm shooting 3" groups at 100 yards. Never a misfire (Wolf/Tula/RedArmyStandard), learned to adjust head position to avoid cheek slap, really like the heft and feel. Very nice finish, tapco trigger group breaks clean. Would buy it again.
I may add a Magpul Zhukov-S folding stock, just to shrink the size and avoid cheek slap altogether, but it's not urgent. I paid with a certified check and Classic handled it very well, the people were very pleasant to work with. Will continue to buy from them.
A Great AK Variant
Review by AKMichael47 on 7/28/2017
This is a great little rifle, well made & at a semi decent price ($499 after $50 mail in rebate). I've put 200 rds through it so far & after the first 20rds it functioned perfectly. The rifle arrived clean inside & out, only needing to be lubed up & racked a few times to get the stiffness out of it.

The sights are only slightly canted to the left, but dead on at 100 yds with Wolf or Tula 123gr FMJ. The mag well is tight with Polish surplus steel or MagPul mags. The only mag that doesn't work in it is a Chinese 75rd drum, which worked in a WASR, but not in either of my Yugos. No biggy. the 75rd drum makes it very heavy anyway.

My big hands prefer the longer, Yugo style 3 slot hand guard & the Tapco grip has finger grooves that fit my hand perfectly. The Tapco G2 trigger is great right out of the box & only gets better with use. This one does NOT drop the hammer if you over rotate the safety lever when the dust cover is removed (my previous M70B1 does & it has caused some other owners to have accidental discharges)

I hear a lot about M70 stocks causing "Yugo Cheek Slap", but I've never had any trouble at all, even after 200rds of pretty much continuous fire. I do have the excellent AK74 style muzzle brakes fitted & this reduces recoil to 223 Rem levels, making follow up shots a breeze & reducing fatigue (at the expense of a lot of noise!)

As for the price, I still say that $500 is still a bit high, $450 would be better, but at least the stupidity of the Obama/Clinton hype is easing off & prices are coming down again (anyone noticed "THEY" didn't "take our guns"????? No, we were just fooled into paying twice as much for them) ....however, compared to the similarly priced WASR these Yugos are head *& shoulders above in terms of build quality.

Even more remarkable is a comparison to the so called "Gold Standard" of AKs, the Arsenal AKs from Bulgaria. I've used (not mine) an Arsenal AK & they are very nice. BUT, just like BMWs, Mercedes & Audis are "Nice" cars the prices are so ridiculous that they end up being very poor value for money. With Arsenal AKs going for more than twice the price of a Yugo M70 you have to ask yourself...where's the quality...what am I getting for paying so much more? The simple answer is, like BMWs, Mercedes & Audis, you're paying for a name.

IMO WASRs & Arsenals ain't worth the money, but the Yugo M70 is every bit of the AK you're going to need. The right rifle at the right price.
Purchase before they vanish
Review by Paul on 1/15/2017
I collect Ak 47 & 74 rifles I would highly recommend buying at least one of these I purchased two. The tolerances are tighter but not to tight, the fit and finish is superb at the range people cannot keep from complimenting it. Mounted a UTG rail on it and Vortex Sparc11 red dot. The UTG mounts sits high over the cover but dead center and enables you to remove the cover for cleaning without removing the mount. People have mentioned the comb on the buttstock is unusually high and this takes care of that and the iron sights are totally visible. I darkened my stock a little with red mahogany min wax stain it's one of the most beautiful Aks I own at 100 yards I consistently hit dead center. First day on the range I fired 600 rounds over a two and one half period of time cooling the barrel intermittenty using Tapco, Magpul, and Classics Korean 30 round magazines and experienced zero problems buy a couple from Classic before they are gone.
Great Customer Service / Solid Rifle
Review by Art on 1/3/2017
First off, the customer service received from Classic Firearms was great! Called in to confirm a few things about the rifle. All questions were answered confidently and extremely friendly. Was able to just place order over the phone and order shipped out the next day!
Day after receiving, gave it a quick wipe down, light oiling and off to the range. Right out of the box it was solid and accurate. Cheek slap is a little to be desired, but, I think with new sights I will be able to rest it in a more comfortable position. Rifle is well built and solid. Wasn't expecting this type of quality at this price point.
Thrilled with this rifle
Review by John on 5/3/2016
This long overdue as I bought the rifle a year ago. I am thrilled with it. My shooting buddy has a tricked out Arsenal AK and I actually prefer my N-PAP. For some reason it just feels better. As a word of warning, you more or less need to run an optic with these. I use a Primary Arms Micro-Dot that works great. The comb on the stock is too high to really use the iron sights. I found myself looking over them, and everyone who shot it without an optic now fully understands what the phrase "cheek slap" means.
I Love This Rifle!

Nice AK
Review by Bullet Bob on 7/9/2015
Very pretty, very solid, very heavy. As for the stock all Serbians must be pin heads or something 'cause shooting Zastavas is like taking a left hook. However, my no-buck solution is to set the sight at 200 yds and now my cheek bone is out of harms way. My biggest complaint about the stock is the lack of cleaning kit hole, that and the electric fence cutting bayonet are two of the reasons AKs are cooler that ARs (I didn't say BETTTER) Unfortunately, there is no bayonet lug although there is a cleaning rod, just no cleaning kit. The receiver is only 3/16" shorter than normal but the front trunion is a 1/2" shorter so that's how the forearm upper is longer. All and all it's half way between a sporterized and a military model.
Awesome!
Review by Chris on 7/2/2015
This is the first AK I've ever purchased and I'm glad I did. By disassembling the gun and looking at the parts, you can tell it's of a high quality. Also, the pictures don't do the wood furniture justice, it's very nice. I got a chance to go out yesterday and shoot and it performed very well, no problems. By the way, I watched a lot of reviews before buying this gun. The Yugo "cheek slap" that you hear about is really no big deal, and with practice you can totally eliminate it. An awesome gun for the money. Classic Firearms was a pleasure to deal with and made the buying experience an easy one. They're who I'll use from now on.

This is an outstanding rifle. Solid as a rock. Shoots straight as arrow.
Review by John on 3/17/2015
I did quite a bit of research before deciding to purchase this Zastava NPAP GenII rifle and I have not been disappointed. This rifle is a real beauty and is solid as a rock. Very tight tolerances for an Ak. Only had to make minor sight adjustments to get it on target. Wood is perfect and looks better in person than on website pictures. I ordered this rifle on a Saturday and it shipped a little over a week later. Classic emailed when it was shipped and gave me constant updates until it arrived at my FFL. When I receiv the rifle I opened the box and found that Classic had sent me a free sling and an AK cleaning kit. Which I thought was pretty cool. I also ordered the 4 surplus Romanian magazines with mag pouch. The mag pouch appeared to new as well as one of the magazines. The other three magazines were well used but all but one functioned flawlessly. One of the magazines had a dent on the side that would catch on the follower. I called Classic Firearms and a nice lady said that she would send one out to replace it no questions asked. Wow what a great company. Classic has definitely earned my business and I look forward to more purchases in the future.

First thanks for the great service from Classic.
Could not be more happy with AK,well built ,for the money best on market that I have seen ,ran 150 rounds of all type ammo with no problems. If I could would buy my entire family one.
Comb of stock a little high for iron sights,so I have sanded down an inch, now is much more comfortable to shoot with no cheek slap, also shoot sometimes with optic great solid sight rail ,always holds zero.
Some call this an entry AK but I say this is a keeper go to war gun.
Thanks again Classic Firearms.

It came all greased up with a little rust on the metal mag. Other than that it was perfect. As a soldier the first thing I did was wipe it clean disassemble it and lather it up with CLP. I love it.
Nice, great deal, good fit & function, great wood
Review by danbrew on 3/6/2015
Picked up one of these the other day along with a M92PAP and can't say enough good things about this one. Price was great - you could spend hundreds more and not get the same quality. Wood was very high quality - had thought I would need to refinish the wood, but think I'm gonna leave as is for now as it is a nice color and just looks great.

Nice Rifle – Great Experience
Review by Larry on 2/27/2015
I decided to make the Yugo M70 N-PAP my first online firearm purchase. After reading a lot of positive customer reviews, both of this rifle and also of Classic Firearms, I decided to get an order in. Classic’s website was very easy to navigate and I was able to find a great local FFL using the “FFL Lookup” feature. Regardless of whom you decide to buy from, spend some time reading the seller’s terms and conditions as well as the frequently asked questions, etc. and get comfortable with them prior to diving in.

I contacted the FFL to make sure that he was ok with doing the transfer, and then I went ahead and placed my order with Classic. It took about 11 days from me placing the order to picking up my rifle. I figure the unusually bad weather that’s been hammering our southern states sure didn’t help speed things along any. I did receive great email updates from Classic once my rifle shipped and they even notified me when my rifle had been delivered to my FFL!

When I went in to my FFL today, we opened up the box so I could check out the rifle. We were both immediately impressed with the quality of the Yugo M70 N-PAP and its beautiful wood furniture. So far, this rifle has exceeded my expectations. I can’t wait to take it to the range and try it out!
NICE
Review by colby on 2/21/2015
This rifle is really nice, solid, and she SINGS! This thing shoots hp .sp .and fmj, and even steel case ammo. No mishaps at all.
This is a brand new AK47. Not a used gun with mismatch parts like other AK's. There is two things about this gun I don't like, no rear sling mount and the bayonet lug has been filed down.
This rifle is solid, heavy and built like a tank. Nice craftsmanship all around. The machine work is outstanding along with the finish. I am a machinist by trade. There is no other AK that I know that has such attention to detail like this one. These are nice and affordable. I suggest you buy one while you can along with the 30 round mags and even a drum before they will try to ban them.
The delivery took longer than expected due to every body and their two mamas has been placing an order through them. But that was ok with me. I written a note for them to be gentle with the package. The gun came in a box with was in another box. Sweet! They included a cleaning kit and also a sling....I didn't order that but I am great full. Thanks Classic firearms.
I just ordered the scope and mount kit also. Cant wait to get that dialed in. I also order a m44 carbine and hope I get a good one. I will always do business here. Thanks Classic firearms once again
Buy this AK
Review by Jonathan on 2/18/2015
This gun is all around excellent. The finish is great. The wood is flawless and beautiful. The bolt looks brand new and is chrome. The front sight is dead center. I paid 800 for an ak expecting what I got out of this 520 dollar rifle. What a gun, what a price. If you are looking for an AK add this thing to your cart and call it a day.

Yugo M70, awesome value in AK form
Review by Werminator on 1/26/2015
I originally purchased one of those higher end milled in America aks from a company that once had a bad reputation. To make a long story short I am far happier with this rifle at a substantial savings!!! Well made and the team at Classic are fantastic to work with!
Good for the price
Review by Jorge on 1/5/2015
Overall the gun is excellent and well made. Have not shot it yet, but in the future i will. The only bad thing is that the buttstock is to big. Luckily if your taller than 6 ft it will feel fine.
Excellent rifle!
Review by Jake on 12/19/2014
I got my Yugo M70 over a year ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. Excellent fit and finish, no rattles, no canted sights, etc. It's far more accurate than any AK can really be expected to be. I was pulling 2MOA groups at 100yards with Remington 7.62x39 125gr. POI was dead-on after some slight adjustments to the front peg sight. Out of the box, mine was shooting a little high. I also ordered two steel magazines from Classic at the time. I've put about 5000 rounds through this so far, and no malfunctions.

PROTIP: When ordering AK steel mags, get the ones that'll hold the bolt open when empty. The ones I ordered, despite being great magazines, were not, and I kinda regret not shelling out the extra few dollars.

I added an aftermarket muzzle break, put some tritium paint on the sights, and added an SKS-style sling. Next upgrade is probably going to be a Tech Sights aperture sight.

For those considering a Yugo, food for thought:
Yugos are kind of an odd duck for the AK world, since a few parts on them aren't interchangeable with other makes. Not a huge deal, but something to be aware of.

Yugos are not chrome-lined. This makes them somewhat more accurate, at the cost of barrel durability. Not really an issue if you don't shoot corrosive surplus ammo, and clean the AK sorta-regularly.

The cleaning rod is kind of useless, since these don't have the little tool kit in the stock with the matching brush.

These have the bayonet lug ground off.
Awesome & Beautiful

Arguably the best AK47 deal on the market
Review by Ian on 9/27/2014
I've been in the market for an AK47 for a long time but have never had the funds or opportunity to make the plunge until now. I've had a couple of AR15's but never had any real interest in them.

I spent a long time searching and researching on what model would be best. The WASR 10 is pretty common but I wanted something with better build quality and finish, and the Zastava made M70 N PAP for the same price is what I believe to be the absolute best deal on a quality made AK47 today.

My rifle was shipped and received at my FFL within three days which I was pleasantly surprised with as this was my first order with Classic. Rifle arrived in excellent condition with a tapco mag and a surplus steel mag. Both work fine, however the surplus mag was covered in cosmoline and it does not hold the bolt open on empty, I don't know if this is a problem with the mag or if it isnt actually a Yugo mag that does so. Also purchased two of the Korean aluminum mags for $7.50 here on classic and they both ran perfectly as well. I took it to the range totally dry out of the box and had no malfunctions, and all three mag types that I mentioned lock in tight and feed with no problems. Internals were clean out of the box and looked just as well made as the Russian Saiga I had in the past. For the same price as a parts kit built WASR 10 with a double mag conversion you can buy this Serbian beast that is all factory new and shipped with the double stack magwell standard.

The biggest complaint I see with the N Pap is related to cheek slap from the high stock comb, however I had no problems with this (possibly because im a little taller at 6'2"...?) and the sights were dead on out of the box with no cant.

In the end I can not recommend this AK47 enough. It is reliable and extremely well made and arguably of better quality than the high priced Saiga conversions from the likes of Arsenal and others for half the price. With the recent ban of Russian weapon importations I would highly recommend purchasing an N Pap now before prices go up, I'm sure that they will as demand rises and supply of Russian weapons diminish.
Very Nice Weapon
Review by Roy on 9/23/2014
Arrived today. Not had a chance to shoot it yet but so far it's extremely nice. The fit and finish is great. The wood really look's good and the metal receiver is well formed. The rest of the rifle is well made and I'll bet it'll shoot as good as it look's. The scope mount is an added plus. Going to scope it shortly. I was really surprised when I tested the trigger. No slack, just firm resistance then click. Checked the trigger pull and my gauge says just at 2.5 lb's. I've got some 1500 dollar rifle's that don't have that smooth a trigger and I love the crisp break when it releases. There is very little movement of the magazine once inserted. I've seen far more movement in higher priced AK's in the past. I've never seen one with no movement in the mag. The only thing bad was there's no bayonet lug and I personally don't like the slant break's. As long as you don't require a bayonet you should be good to go with one of these. Classic's service is second to none as far as I'm concerned . They provide better service than the local FFL's and I found a great FFL not far down that road to receive my purchase when I make one. The best thing is the rifle is all new construction no used parts to quit on you earlier than it should. I honestly don't think you can go wrong buying one of these.
Great rifle, great service, minor problem
Review by Bill-in-the-Hills on 6/26/2014
This is a great rifle and Classic Fire Arms gives great service. I did have a problem with the trigger group on first range trip. The shepherds crook was missing from one side of the trigger spring which caused the rifle to not fire a second shot due to dropping the seer after the first. I showed it to the gunsmith at a local shop who pulled out two pairs of needle nosed pliers and fixed it on the spot. Now... great for boring holes in paper or other things. My daughter carved out the two inch ring of a paper target with one mag at 50 yards. Asked her if she could spell her name but she declined :-))
Quality Rifle
Review by William on 6/13/2014
Received my M70 12 days after ordering it and my first impression is that it's a clean, well-built rifle. Closer inspection revealed two discrepancies. The bottom of the buttstock extends about 1/16" below the lower edge of the receiver. Also, the butt pad is a commercial add-on and not Yugo milspec. It just doesn't feel right when placed in the shoulder. I think this butt pad makes the pull of the rifle noticeably longer than my other AK.
Very nice rifle at a good price
Review by John on 5/7/2014
Fit and finish are surprisingly good. It did require quite a bit of cleaning up of shavings. It also benefited from some smoothing of the action, but shoots fine right out of the box.

Classic Firearms description says: "Receivers are stamped but slightly heavier than typical stamped receivers. However, mine measured right at the 1mm standard with a micrometer.

Comes with two surplus mil mags, which is nice. Overall a good rifle and a good value.

First off Classic Firearms was great doing business with. I really liked the emails updating me on ever aspect of the shipping process. Rifle arrived in great shape, took it out shooting and put over 100 rounds through it not a single problem. 4 different brand of ammo and 4 different brands of mags all worked perfectly.
Built like a tank!
Review by JR on 3/6/2014
Fit and finish of the rifle was even better than expected. As soon as i picked up the rifle, i immediately noticed the weight. Some people might see this as a disadvantage but that just tells me this thing can go through hell and back and still keep kicking. Its also with noting that everything on the rifle is very tight! Safety lever is hard to manipulate but is slowly getting worked in, also had very little mag wobble. Rather have a tight rifle than a rickety loose one. As for firing, its great and a blast to unload a clip but i just have one thing to say: get ready for that yugo slap incheek if you don't hold that rifle tight!

New rules would not permit me to receive the rifle. Funny, x military, married for yrs, in my fortys, and they think they can take away my 2nd ammendment rights. NEVER, bunch of dumbasses. Wish the rest of new york would wake up and defend the rights of honest, hard working americans. So, now that my rant is over, do you have any ak-styles which would be legal in ny now. Or perhaps any pre-ban style aks which i can lawfully purchase?

After searching around, Classic Firearms had the best deal anywhere.
I am very pleased with my rifle. Rock solid and exactly what I wanted.
There was a slight issue with the magazines that came with my purchase. Classic made that problem more than right. Customer service of the caliber I received from Classic Firearms is rare these days. They have earned my respect and I will do business with them again. Thanks Classic!
Freakin' Awesome!!!
Review by Marc on 2/12/2013
I bought 3 of these. I read all the reviews, went to different blogs, and even a magazine article about these rifles. They are absolutely perfect. The wood is the stand-out feature. Every person who sees my Yugo wants to hold it and inspect it.
As a shooter, it loads, ejects, and fires all the steel ammo I throw at it.
NOTE - I was a little concerned about the side rail scope mount when I first bought it. I ordered a Quick Detach scope mount. It was too short. I emailed Classic and they suggested a UTG973 Scope Mount. Ordered it the next day. It fit perfect. I mounted a TruGlo Red Dot, sighted it in, and was on top of the world.
I love this gun and I am very happy with the purchase. If you buy it, you will be the envy of your buds.
PS...the bolt hold open feature ROCKS!
Good-to-go
Review by TimberWolf on 1/20/2013
I did alot of online research before finnaly deciding on purchasing this rifle. I am very impressed with the rifle. It truly is built like a tank. I have ran a few hundred rounds through mine with no jams or problems whatsoever. Flawlessly reliable AK operation!
Accuracy is better than the average AK. I upgraded my sights to the Techsights AK200Y and the smaller front sight post. This upgrade cut my group size in half. I am now getting 4" groups with this rifle at 100 yards.
I was getting the cheek bite problem with my rifle. I asked around on forums and it was finnaly recomended that I moved my cheek weld position so that my nose was as close to the reciever as I could get it. This made the cheek bite problem go away. It seems to me that because the warsaw type stocks or so short many american shooters have there cheek weld to far back on the stock which causes the uncomfortable cheek bite problem.
The rifle runs all metal millitary surplus mags. No problem. The tapco type mags will work but will probably need some dremel work to fit in the magwell and lock into position.
The best option I found for adding a rear sling mount is the Echo Nine Three model V6. You just unbolt your pistol grip and slide the V6 into position and bolt the pistol grip back on on top of it.
I give the rifle 5 stars because of the excellent reliability, and above average accuracy for an AK.
I recomend you upgrade to some techsights or an optic to get the most out of this rifles accuracy. With the techsights all my 100 yards groups have been in the bullseye and the 10 ring with a few in the nine ring.
Other recomended upgrades are a better muzzle brake (AK74 style), better pistol grip (Houge), and the E93 V6 sling mount.
Thanks, and I hope this review is helpful to someone.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT FAST SHIPPING
Nice Shooting Rifle!
Review by Wayne M on 12/30/2012
Bought the N-PAP Gen II on 12/18. Received at my FFL on the 27th. The delay in departure for my order was caused by the glut of orders you recieved in mid December.

Rifle was received in excellent condition with no damage from shipping. All S/N's on weapon were matching.

Ran ~30 rds of Wolf 123 Gr FMJ through with no problems whatsoever. Rifle was also accurate right out of the box with no sight adjustments required as of now.

I am impressed with the overall quality of this rifle. The furniture and receiver are as advertised. The front trunion and receiver were not "Hogged" out as has been posted on the web in various places. This rifle is built (not modified) to accept Hi-Cap mags. I think that the "Hogged" out receivers and trunions were associated with the "Gen I" rifles.

Overall, I'm impressed with the M70 PAP Gen II rifle. My only gripes are that the rifle doesn't come with a rear sling swivel on the rear stock nor does it have a bayonet lug. Also on my rifle, the gas tube guard will move slightly and will have to be tightened somehow.

With a rear stock swivel and a bayonet lug, this rifle easily gets a review 5 stars.
Beautiful and badass!

Absolute pleasure dealing with Classic first of all.

Got the shooters package mainly for the nice case. The extra goodies will end up being stashed away. Tapco mags needed a little dremel work to get them to fit and there's a little wobble to them. Sling can't be readily used due to lack of rear mount.

Beautiful wood furniture and craftsmanship overall, although the front sight block has a minor visible cant. Hopefully not bad enough to prevent zeroing. Hi-cap magwell conversion looks really professional. No hack job like I've read reports of.

Not sure how she fires yet, but I won't be putting any corrosive ammo through her virgin barrel, that's for sure. Cleaning rod was m.i.a. but I emailed support and they replied apologetically. One was promptly mailed to my house. (Thanks Ben)
Good Shooting Rifle
Review by Larry G on 12/17/2012
Rec'd my first Yugo rifle and when I got it out of the box, I was impressed with it. Disassemblied and inspected it, it was clean and oiled with no concerns. Shoot around 200 rounds this weekend and no hang ups or nothing. It just continued to fire if you feed it ammo. Shooting 100 yards and exploding shaving cream cans with the scope. EASY to tear down and clean in minutes. It looks and fires GREAT. If your looking for a great rifle and can't decide....pull the trigger and get this one while they are available and with a good price. Great product Classic....
Awesome gun

OMG. Great rifle!
This one is done right folks.
Took apart, no need to clean. Well oiled.
No burs, all new parts.
Thicker receiver, heavier barrel, gorgeous wood. Gun is remarkably lightweight. Got shooters kit. Bulldog case ( floats). Tapco mags needed little sanding, but worked fine.
Neighbors mad, shooting it to much.
Fires soft points very well
Review by Trapper on 12/13/2012
The conversion to high capacity is very well done. Magazines fit well with no wobble. I had read some reviews 'elsewhere' that soft points could be an issue. Not so! I shot 154 grain soft points just fine with both metal and Tapco magazines. This rifle may become my favorite. There's just one drawback I found: there were some dings in the wood upon delivery. I'm not sure if that happened at the factory or during delivery. That's the only reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5.
Great price on a very good rifle
Review by Michael on 12/11/2012
Received my new rifle last week, cleaned it and took it out to shoot it on Saturday. What a great shooting rifle. Well balanced and rapid recovery to aim point after recoil. Smooth and short pull on the Tapco trigger. Very accurate right out of the box and fun to shoot. Excellent dealer to work with.
Great gun

This is just an update on my previous review. I took the gun to the range yesterday. I put about 200 rounds through it without any issues. Not one failure to feed or fire. I am pleased with the purchase of this gun. It is my new favorite gun in my collection.
Yugo M70 PAP Gen II

Here's my $0.02

The rifle shipped the next day after purchase and made it to my FFL only a few days after that without a scratch. Good work Classic!

Upon inspection, everything looked great. I cleaned everything except the gas tube, so Im not sure if there were any metal shards like some have mentioned in their weapon (but I will be doing that soon).

The 1 orig. mag that came with the gun worked great and as advertised (kept the bolt open after the last round). I hear people complaining about the Tapco, but it truly is an easy fix to wear off the excess to make it fit. If you want something perfect immediately, get the steel mags. (I used some Polish ones as well from Midway that were great, but didn't keep the bolt open after the last round)

I must say that the gun shot WAY better than I expected. Mine shoots straight and true. I shot it at 50 and 100 yards and I thought the groupings were excellent. I put 140 rounds of budget Wolf Performance through it without any flaws. So far, Im happy with the purchase.
Nice rifle for the price
Review by Chris on 11/29/2012
Got this rifle in today. It feels solid and looks very nice. Took it apart to clean it and there were metal shavings in the gas tube. The bolt carrier sticks a bit on my rifle. There are videos on how to correct this. That is one of the common issues with an AK in this price range. The included sling in the shooters package is useless. It is the wrong sling for this gun. The gun has no rear sling mount anyway. I am taking it out to the range this weekend, hopefully it shoots just fine.
Top Notch!

I'll put this rifle up against a SGL21 Arsenal....It is that nice! For the price of a WASR you get a high quality AK which can only go up
Seems solid, but QC issues
Review by Adam on 11/27/2012
I bought this rifle just before it went on sale (figures) and haven't had a chance to fire it yet, but I wanted to highlight some problems just from looking over the rifle:

-In their open letter, Classic Arms mentions that these rifles have had their magazine wells drilled out to accept higher capacity magazines. This isn't a problem for your standard steel mags, but the Tapco Polymer mags they include with the rifle don't fit properly. I had to cut a little bit of the plastic off the top of the Tapco mags to get them to fit, and now it isn't an issue. I'm not sure how many of these rifles Classic has to sell, but I don't think it would take very long to check to see if the mags you are selling with the rifle fit properly
.
-The sling that comes in the shooter's kit is essentially useless, and not made for this rifle. It is no better than a crappy universal sling you would get from Wal Mart.

-In the shooter's package I ordered, one of the mags they sent me was missing the interal spring and buttplate. To Classic's credit, they shipped me a replacement mag with no questions asked in a matter of days. I'm bummed with the QC of my order, but was impressed with the great customer service.

Other than that, the rifle certainly looks nice and doesn't have the thick coat of cosmoline like other surplus rifles. I hope when I take it to the range I don't have the feed issues that some have reported.
Great Rifle. Great Service.

Received my Zastava M70 last week. Shipped fast and hassle free!

Broke down and cleaned upon arrival. Some metal shavings in the gas tube and forward receiver area from the conversion. Mags fit properly and the conversion seems very well done!

The scope package offered bolts on perfectly.

I appreciate the open letter addressing some of the concerns about the Zastava conversion rifles, and the extra effort Classic firearms makes to ensure that rifles leaving their store are function tested.

Shot 60 rounds today at the range without a any issues. Looking forward to a long service life from this one.

Seems like a winner to me!
Very well built AKM-47
Review by M70PAP on 11/17/2012
Great deal on this M70 PAP Yugoslavian AKM-47 rifle. Got mine delivered within 4 business days. Fast shipping!

Furniture is great for an AK47. I have physically compared this to the WASR-10/63, and hands down, this rifle is my favorite! The teak furniture is great looking, and beats the plywood style furniture on the WASR. As you should expect, this rifle has its rough edges, but you can see that is is definitely a quality piece. 1.6mm RPK heavy duty lower receiver. Although I haven't shot it yet, I can see this one becoming a favorite at the range.
