swiss K31 bayonet
Review by Hehuanhuan George on 6/6/2017
Good quality bayonets, very good.
Wonderful!
Review by Tyler on 11/27/2017
Got this two years ago. Still loving the look of it.
Very nice bayonet
Review by Joe on 3/19/2017
The bayonet was described as surplus good, but is almost very good, almost due to several knicks in the blade from use. After removing the light coating of cosmoline, the blade is shiny, the wood cleaned up nicely, the scabbard has some finish wear, no rust, and the leather piece looks good after cleaning with saddle soap. Overall, a very nice bayonet, at a great price.
nice.... very, very nice
Review by richard on 3/8/2017
Very happy with this purchase, fast shipping. On to the review. Blade is in very good condition, minor nicks, (expected) point in good shape. Locked right on to my K32 with no problem. Wood looks great, no soft spots or water marks. Scabbard fits nice. Does have serial number. Overall, very, very happy.
K31 Bayonet
Review by John on 2/19/2017
Description on website states "Swiss K31 Bayonet w/ Scabbard, Good condition". What I received is what I would consider "very good' to "excellent" on the actual bayonet. Blade was shiny with no nicks or scratches. Wood on handle was excellent and latch functioned flawlessly. Scabbard showed some wear but well within expectations. There were no dents or other damage to the scabbard. Overall bayonet exceeded the condition described, which I have come to expect from Classic. Will receive the K31 rifle purchased at the same time tomorrow. Hopefully the condition will be similar. I have never been disappointed with any prior purchase from Classic and don't expect anything different this time.
Great buy and a cool piece of history.
Review by Vincent on 2/18/2017
I have been following classic firearms for a while now and love both the great products they provide and the fair prices. The bayonet arrived quickly and was in much better shape than I expected. It has its ware mind you but the overall condition is very clean with no rust or pitting, the scabbard is not dented and retains much of it color. Thanks for the fast shipping I will be shopping with you again.
Battle Damage
Review by kenneth on 2/15/2017
This bayonet is exactly what you would expect from Swiss Craftsmanship, the only problem is that someone had been sword fighting with it. The bayonet has more chips in the blade than a bag of Doritos. And yes, I have to blame myself for waiting so long to get one. Overall it is a quality piece, I just hope that I can work out the chips.
Excellent purchase
Review by Mike on 2/11/2017
Ordered one for my K31 (plus G11 ammo) and I was thrilled. Quick turnaround and the product was fantastic. Bayonet itself was nearly perfect, no nicks to what appears to be original factory edges. Scabbard was very nice and completely serviceable - no dents, gouges or other marks, just reasonable wear to the finish and some black weapon grease at the bottom. Leather tab was what you'd expect for ~50 years old, but all there. I've seen these at $80+ retail for far less quality.
great bayonet if it hadn't been through " a war "

I read the other reviews before buying one of these. A lot of people said that they received chipped up and banged up bayonets. I took a chance and got one that looks almost new. Thanks Classic.
Excellent Buy! Very Pleased
Review by John on 2/1/2017
Just received my Swiss K-31 bayonet in the mail and I am very pleased with the excellent condition of this bayonet. Certainly surpassed my expectations! This was my first order from Classic and I'm sure it won't be my last. Super-quick shipping too!
great piece of steel

Looks good on K11 carbine. Usual classic grade great product.
Nice bayo
Review by Patrick on 10/21/2016
I bought this along with an SR 1896/11. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit but that is my fault not Classics. When I told my buddy at work about it he said "Well, can you send it back/" I guess the look in my eyes told him that there is a K31 in my future!!
Be a shame for a perfectly nice bayo to be all alone in the gun cabinet don't' cha know.
very nice

Unboxed it and it was beyond my expectations! No blade Knicks or gouges. Very nice example of the k31 bayonet. I only wish the frog was with them. Thanks classic!
K31 Bayonet
Review by Markjl on 6/5/2016
I was very pleased with my purchase and the price. I opted out of the hand select and still received a very good condition bayonet. It only had one small nick on the blade other then that very good condition. The only thing that could of been better is it took two weeks to get shipped to me would be my only negative comment. Other then that Iam overall pleased.
Best accessory for K31
Review by murrah on 5/12/2016
The bayonet I received was in excellent condition for its age. The blade was flawless and appears to have never been used, but does show some minor wear on the scabbard and handle of the bayonet. Out of all the bayonets I've ever bought the Swiss K31 bayonet is hands down the best looking.
Very Nice
Review by Robert on 4/6/2016
Ordered on morning of April 4th arrive 11 am April 6th. Came in the large priority mail box wrapped in the small bubble wrap and cushioned with brown paper. The Bayonet appears to be in nice used but not abused condition the scabbard had about 35-40% of its coating worn away but with no dents at all. The bayonet handle chrome was in great condition with just a few scratches that had a little rust on them. The markings were deep and precise. The blade had no nicks or gouges. The only wear marks were those from removing and inserting the bayonet into the scabbard. The wood is worn as the wood on most rifles but in good shape without the dings. Overall very fine bayonet.
Good for being a surplus bayonet.
Review by Wilbur on 3/11/2016
Received my bayonet for my K31, very nice wood , scabbard a little worn on the finish but it surplus so no biggie. Blade had a few small nicks in it, but nothing a little work on a stone couldn't remove. Very happy with my purchase. Thanks again Classic Firearms.

Wonderful bayonet!
Review by Yazz on 3/7/2016
I ordered this bayonet to put on my K11. I paid the extra $10 and must say that I was very pleased with what I received! The blade looks to be untouched and free of rust or pitting. The scabbard has a dent but it doesn't effect the blade's removal. I've been very pleased with all my purchases from Classic Firearms. I've recommended them to my friends.
Nice K31 bayonrt.
Review by Steven on 12/3/2015
Bayonet looks great. It has several markings on it, one is the swiss cross, a triangle and the number 59. I'm happy with the bayonet I got, might order another.
I can feel the history
Review by Aaron on 7/28/2015
This was the first purchase I made from classic, and I am not disappointed. The precision and craftsmanship that went into these bayonets is world class. My scabbard had some paint wear, but the steel and wood were excellent, I could feel the history behind this blade! The only thing I am debating is if I should sharpen the blade.
"Hand select for condition"???
Review by sam on 5/16/2015
I have several of these Ive bought from antique shops for like 70 bucks, mint condition. I paid the extra $10 dollars because the pictures looked incredible it ended up being over 70 from classic, too good to be true obviously. My blade was pretty rough, so rough it looks like someone had actually tried to grind out some of the pits on the blade.... too many dents in the actual cutting edge to re profile, that was my plan, thinking they would be better than the antique shops. I must say, Im actually kinda pissed. Only reason for two stars is that they rushed my parcel, I am appreciative of that.
outstanding

Bayonet and scabbard are in mint condition. Couldn't be happier.
K31 bayonet
Review by Doug on 5/7/2015
This was my first purchase from Classic Firearms. Took one week before they shipped. I purchased 2 of the K31 bayonets, one for me and one for my brother. We didn't have to fight over who gets what because the quality of these surplus bayonets is pretty darn good. The wood on both had very small dings but was otherwise in great shape. The blades with a little cleaning will look amazing. Bought these at the price of $59.99 each and just saw that CF lowered the price to $49.99 the day I picked them up from my P.O. Box. If I had to gripe about anything, it's that I should get $20 credited to my account and this is the only reason I'm giving the 4 stars. Other than that, my brother and I are satisfied with the products.
Great Quality Bayonet.... with alot of unnecessary abuse to the blade
Review by Corey on 5/1/2015
I purchased a K31 along with the matching bayonet on 3/13/15 and just haven't had the time to put up a review for either. I am overall happy with the rifle but the condition of the bayonet is another story. While the blade did not have any rust on it, it looks to have been repeatedly hit against another bayonet or something metal. I understand how these were most likely used in training, but this blade had very deep gouges not associated with common use. I can only assume, whoever this blade was issued to was trying to damage the blade on purpose or was using extreme negligence. I showed the blade to several combat veterans, one with extensive training with bladed weapons beyond what he was taught in the Marines, and none of them seem to think the blade should be in this bad of shape. From other reviews, I was expecting a blade in overall very good to excellent condition, what I received would be fair at best. I did email Classic about this issue and was told that some blades come in that condition with no offer to exchange. The positive note of this purchase, is that the blade seems to be of very high quality, just like everything Swiss I have had experience with.
Nice as usual
Review by Wes on 4/23/2015
Today I got the email that my bayonet was delivered, so I left work and rushed home to check it out. When I got to my mailbox, there was a long Toblerone-like box sticking out. The shipping was faster than I expected (shipped on the 21st, received on the 23rd). The bayonet was very nicely packaged and easy to unwrap. When ordering the bayonet, I wasn't partial to the manufacturer, but I did want one in great condition, therefore I selected the hand check. My impartial attitude changed as I read reviews, however. I now wanted an Elsener Schwyz, and I'm happy to say that's what I got! The scabbard has an excellent blued finish with very minimal wear. The bayonet is just as nice, free of scratches, a bright and rust free finish, and blemish free wood. This bayonet is well worth the money!
world class short sword.
Review by shawn on 4/13/2015
My Swiss k-31 from Classic Firearms has a bayonet made by Elsener Schwyz Victoria and it is numbered to a rifle made in 1958.I have ordered another one that is unissued and not numbered. If you ordered a short sword made by a custom knife maker that matches the quality of the Elsener Schwyz bayonets, it may cost you $1000.00.
Most Excellent Victoria Bayonet
Review by Norm on 3/24/2015
I ordered my third Classic bayonet with scabbard (see my post on my first order of two bayonets in February, below), asking for an Elsener Schwyz Victoria manufacture. It arrived on Saturday. When I opened the box, the bayonet, in its scabbard, was wrapped very well in bubble wrap. Removing the bayonet, I saw a just about perfect bayonet of Victoria manufacture. First, the scabbard was mostly clean of dings or scrapes on the black covering. Second, the bayonet itself was in pristine condition. The tracks on both sides of the blade were negligible, leading me to believe the bayonet had not been used much, if at all. My previous two orders of bayonets were inferior to this copy. I am extremely pleased with this last bayonet order. Thank you.
The overall condition is good...
Review by Jace on 3/16/2015
The bayonet and scabbard I received are in good condition. The wood handle had mild handling and storage marks, but the tip of the blade had some mild pitting. The overall rating is 4 stars because of the pitting on the blade.
nice bayonet, but...
Review by ET in MD on 3/10/2015
I have made MANY, MANY rifle purchases from Classic Firearms and have NEVER been disappointed. My most recent was a Schmidt Rubin 1911 long rifle. Very nice gun, so...I bought one of bayonets after reading the reviews that they fit nicely on a 1911. My bayonet is very nice, hardly any wear, but it will not fit over the barrel of my Schmidt Rubin 1911, period. I will either have to mill it to get it to fit, or just have a nice bayonet paper weight. One size does not necessarily fit all. it'd be 5 stars if it fit, for sure...
Good Stuff
Review by Rich on 3/10/2015
Only a few minor handling rubs on the scabbard and 1 on the wood handle, the steel was well lubricated and bright and shiny. Very impressed with the overall quality, they just don't make quality like this anymore.Only regret is not getting one 6 months ago when they were $39. Get one while you can, this is the nicest blade I own and a nice compliment to the K31.
A good example of Swiss Precision Engineering
Review by Mike on 3/6/2015
These are unissued Swiss Bayonets, but it doesn't mean that they are perfect.
Mine had a few specks of surface rust here and there, but easy to remove with a little steel wool or chemical rust remover. Remember this is not a Rolex watch. It is a military item that's purpose is to fight in hand to hand combat. Mine is stamped on the Ricasso: ELSENER SCHWYZ VICTORIA. There is no serial number on these. The blade is the Dagger Type, 11 3/4 " long, with no Fuller. Mine is quite sharp. The cross piece has two very small stamps: Triangle & Swiss Cross. The grips (5 inch ling) are of nice hardwood stained to a medium brown with the wood grain showing. The Pommel is of "Eagle Head" design. The Press Stud works very well with a strong spring. The Mortis Slot is smooth and receives your rifle barrel easily with a tight fit. The scabbard is near perfect and has a small ball at its tip with a stamped Swiss Cross. There is a set screw at the top to adjust the tightness of the fit. A rectangle Belt Loop 1" wide with a leather strap 3 1/2 " long to attach a Frog to. This bayonet will fit on your K-31 or K-11.
I see these Swiss bayonets in various conditions selling for $95 to $150 or more.
At Classic's price of $60.00 it is a very good deal. Real value for your dollar.
The delivery was very fast and the packaging was excellent.

Great bayonet!
Review by SteveO on 3/6/2015
My brother has a 1914 I've admired for ages, when I saw this I had to get one. The one I received has a 3 digit sn on it, the blade is clean, no rust. The wood is in good shape, just a few small scratches. Excellent bayonet. I'll be sharpening it a little more and am considering making a frog for it. Thanks Classic!
Great service; great bayonet
Review by Jim on 3/5/2015
I am very happy with the Swiss bayonet I received. Fine quality and very good condition. Most of all I am happy that I received what I asked for " Victoria "! Not every company will do that for you. Thanks you Classic! Jim
k31 bayo
Review by dave on 3/4/2015
Got the k31 bayonet today and kind of dissapointed in the so called excellant condition, there are dents in the wood and gouges in the metal at the base of the bayonet, blade is superb, frog is dent free just some finish wear . Overall just a good piece, worth the money!
Should offer select grade for $10 more
Review by bookmanwv on 2/23/2015
I received this today and am not very satisfied with the quality of the blade. It has what could almost be described as gouges in the edge of the blade. I understand these are mill surp but this one should have been held back for a grade B sale at a cheaper price. I've spent a good bit of money at classic and the experience has been good overall, but this was a disappointment.
beautiful condition
Review by Venom on 2/21/2015
Waited for a while to get one, as soon as the e-mail notice came in that they were back in stock I ordered one, and let me tell you it was worth the wait. This bayonet is beautiful and it looks in new condition.
2 For the Money!
Review by Deadly in OKC on 2/16/2015
Bought 2 of these which cleaned up nicely with OrangeGlo. Scabbards were touched up with Eastwood's Metal Blackening Solution. Fits the K31 well and also fits the K11 even better. Thanks again, Classic!
Great Bayonet

Review by StuckInCA on 2/14/2015
I purchased this bayo because i love Swiss made military surplus. Just so well made, and this bayo is no exception. Very solid large bayo and feels very nice in the hand. Don't have a k-31 rifle for it but I collect a wide variety of surplus. One awesome thing is that the bayo I recevied looks to have been heavily used. The bayo itself is a little beat up and the scabbard is all but done. But, there is initials carved into the wood handle F.D. Makes me wonder what this particular bayo went through. Thanks Classic for offering all the awesome stuff to guys stuck in CA!!!!
Great quality item!!
Review by Richard on 2/13/2015
I was surprised how fast Classic ships I ordered it came right away. I was expecting a regular dull blacken blade but it came sharp and clean near brand new no scuffs or anything. If these are not sold out soon I'll have to buy another k31 to go with another bayonet.....
Pleased with good quality
Review by Norm on 2/12/2015
I ordered two bayonets asking for Elsener Schwyz Victoria manufacture. They arrived today, wrapped very well in bubble wrap. The outside triangular shaped box they came in was a little bent, but not torn. I opened the first bayonet that came out, and was pleasantly surprised to see the Victoria mark on it. The bayonet was dirty, had a couple rust spots by the hilt, and had some dings and a deep dent on the guard. The bayonet's two edges were sharpened and had several nicks running along both edges. The wood is a light brown with a couple of scratches, but good overall. The second bayonet had a Waffenfabrik Neuhausen mark. This one looked to have been used injudiciously, with a bunch of dings on the serial number side of the steel handle as if someone used it to pound nails in. The blade is not sharpened with no rust. The wood is a dark brown with several light scratches, and one deep one next to the guard. After rubbing with a 0000 steel wool, and using a lot of elbow grease with Flitz to all the metal parts, both bayonets came out gleaming. I treated the wood on both to a Lemon furniture cleaner and protectant. Both bayonets now look great, but the deep dings and the nicks on the Victoria blade are still apparent. The bayonets reflect outstanding craftsmanship, are heavy steel, with a nice balance feel. From reading the comments, I had allowed myself to believe I might get some Excellent quality, maybe even unused bayonets. As it is, I have two good looking, used bayonets. They look good on the K31, and fit the story line of the rifle and bayonets seeing some heavy use during their soldiers' training and deployment during the war years, but they are not Excellent quality. Overall, I am pleased with the two bayonets I received, as their historical value reflects their character.
Highly disappointed
Review by Don on 2/9/2015
Not really much positive to say here. The bayonet is no better than average surplus, and it is NOT suitable for collectors. Mine came with crimped tip, and significant wear. Someone also at some point cleaned the scabbard. .....resulted in shiny pitting.

Needless to say I'm not satisfied and would not recommend this.
excellent adition to my collection
Review by kayali3k on 10/2/2013
Brilliant condition, no serial numbers, all original, wood and metal SUPERB quality..excellent price cant be beat!
Another fantastic find from Classic firearms.
If you need one of these to complete your collection... this is the place to get it!!!
K31 Bayonet
Review by Matt on 7/1/2013
I ordered 3 of these...at $60/each, I figured why not!
Ordered 6/18..got the email saying they shipped only TWO hours after placing the order. Nice!! Arrived on 6/21, but unfortunately there was only one in the box. I don't remember the name of the nice lady I talked to, but I let her know and she said they'd be shipped out next business day. I figured I'd end up calling to remind them, since I called about 20min before they close for the day on Friday, but to my surprise I picked the other 2 up at the post office on 6/20.
So a little mistake was made, but Classic Firearms made it right.
***This is first class customer service!!!***

All three bayonets are in excellent condition, age considered. A few scratches from the scabbard; one had some black crud on the tip that I still haven't been able to get completely off; no nicks in the blades...they're sharp!
All three had the Elsener Schwyz and Swiss marks, but only two had the Victoria. No biggie. All the handles are in nice condition too. Overall great value for the money.

This is my first purchase with these guys, but if their customer service and speedy shipping is any indication how they normally handle business it won't be the last!
NICE!
Review by Mak on 6/28/2013
I purchased three bayonets and all three look to be old but unissued. They arrived a little dusty and greasy with VERY minor handling/storage marks. None of the them have been serialized to a particular rifle. The maker's mark is crisp. These cost about 1/2 the price I paid for a rather rough looking specimen I aquired years ago. I am very pleased with my purchase.
Just Incredible!
Review by Scott on 6/15/2013
I ordered this bayonet, along with a rifle, after reading all the reviews from others here. I was almost in tears when I opened the package and saw, what appeared to be a new bayonet! It looks like it was made yesterday!! I couldn't be more pleased and happy with the service I received from the team at Classic Firearms!
Unbelieveably nice!
Review by chjhorses on 6/12/2013
This was my first order from Classic. I bought two of these since they looked so nice, one for a father's day gift and kept one. I find myself taking it out repeatedly just to look at. Received one Elsener Schwyz Victoria and one older (pre-1950) Elsener Schwyz, both equally nice. Both unissued and unserialized. They were great looking to start with, a little polish and buffing and they are gleaming like I never thought a 60 year old bayonet could. Price is great, these are the same bayonets selling elsewhere for over $100 each. Fit right on my rifle, and even if you don't have a K31 they are a great stand alone dagger, and collector piece. If you love and collect Victorinox cutlery or Swiss Army knives it just makes it that much sweeter. You can't touch a modern quality dagger this size for twice this price, and these feel as solid as the day they were built. The only thing better would be if there were some frogs available. Don't hesitate if you're considering one.
Awesome

I don't even have a K31, but I got one of these bayonets because they look so good. I liked it so much, I got a second one! These are the best mil surp bayonets you're going to find.

Review by Timothy on 3/21/2013
Bought this bayonet and it looks to be almost new. Fits my K31 like a glove. Great Swiss quality! Classic FireArms wasted little time in shipping it either especially how crazy everything has been lately. A + purchase!
Excellent
Review by jwhite on 3/19/2013
The Swiss evidently know how to build and take care of their knives. This thing is in spectacular condition, rock solid, and razor sharp. The one I received was in even better condition than the one in the photo. Not just a collector's item, this would be a go-to knife for me in an emergency. A lot better built/balanced than a lot of new high-tech knives I've used.
Excellent
Review by T Ferguson on 3/5/2013
I was skeptical at the price, since I remembered these being over a hundred dollars a few years ago.

I'm glad I ordered one though. Excellent, unissued condition. Mine looks better than the one pictured above.

The only way I could be happier is if I found the one that's serial matched to my rifle.

Thanks Classic!

Outstanding Bayonet!!

If you have purchased any of the great looking Swiss K11s or a K31 rifle you have to get one of these beautiful bayonets!! In October I ordered one to go with my K31 from Classic and I just received my second one that I gave a friend of mine that owns a gun shop. He was speechless Both bayonets from Classic looked unissued and in new condition. They are as nice as they come nd you can't beat Classic's price! Customer service is top notch (thanks Janet!) and shipping is fast!
Outstanding bayonet!

Pristine unissued bayonet
Review by Gremlin on 8/24/2012
One word: MARVELOUS!! A few days ago I opened up a nicely secured box and unwound a good meter and a half of bubblewrap to lay eye upon one of the best examples of Swiss steelwork I have ever seen. I received an unissued Elsener Schwyz Victoria manufactured unit with nary a mark on it, save for a few storage scuffs from being crated up for a couple decades. The wood handles have wonderfully detailed grain structures and are well finished with some sort of oil; no cheap shellac coating like Russian woodworking. It came with a healthy coating of that unique Swiss two-in-one lubricating and preserving grease which is proving to be a bit difficult to get out of the scabbard, but I'll get it all out eventually. The only complaint I could possibly make is that there weren't any leather frogs to go with them; this will soon be remedied however as I have ordered one of late 1920's manufacture which I think will go with this bayonet quite nicely. Kudos to the crew at Classic Firearms for procuring these fine specimens of Swiss metalworking. I'll probably be back within a month for another surplus goods purchase; with any luck I'll receive as fine a product as I did this time!

A note to those who buy these: expect there to be a pair of light parallel wear lines in the finish of the steel along both sides of the blade. This is normal and will be found on all Swiss bayonets as they are caused by the action of pulling the blade out of the scabbard and putting it back in.
good deal
Review by beeforoni on 8/22/2012
Got 4 k-31 bayonets 3 Elsener Schwyz Victoria and 1 Elsener schwyz marked. Scabbards were perfect blades bright wood very nice almost perfect. Samco wants $104.95 for Elsener Schwyz and $149.95 for Elsener Schwyz Victoria same as I got here for $50.00 a pop. Did Elvis autograph those $149.95 bayonets.
