First of all thanks for shipping rifle magazines over 10 rounds to Hawaii, which is perfectly legal, unlike some of your competitors who seem to think Hawaii is not part of the United States. Last I checked..

Found out about these from FNForums as well, and yes they are not factory FN mags but they will work and like previous reviewer said, perfect for the range bag because of the light weight. On FNForums it has been suggested to use these as range mags and use the steel FN mags for when the excrement hits the circulating device...

First of all I have to say that I was very surprised to see Classic Firearms was carrying items for the SCAR 17. Anybody who has one of these guns knows that getting extra mags was difficult and expensive prior to the madness, and now they sell for hundreds of dollars on auctions sites. Seeing these listed at a fair price was also surprising, most sites that actually have the Thermolds are selling them for 2-3x what classic is selling them for.
Now for the mags, I had read several reviews that these were cheap flimsy mags that would fall out of the gun when you cycled a round or banged on it.... well that is just not true. I bought 10 of these and every one fits and works perfectly. Each thermolds fits in the mag well just as the FN mags fit, when you press the mag release they fall out without any assistance and they go in and lock nice and easy. I loaded 20 rounds and the sides did not buldge and the rounds went in nice and straight and easy. I went out in back yard and manually cycled through all 20 rds in several different mags and the all worked flawlessly. They hold the bott open as they should and I could not find a single issue. I tried and tried to get these to fail and it never happened, the worked just as good and FN mags. Now in all fairness I have not been to the range yet, I will not make it to the range for another week or two so things may go south then but I doubt it. I will post another review and maybe video as a follow up. Dont be affraid of buying these $23 mags for your SCAR 17 they are much better than I was expecting. I have been using AK and AR thermold mags for years with now problems, and I am very confident that I will be able to say the same about these a few years from now.

Excellent low-cost alternative to FN SCAR Mags

Given the recent demand/hysteria for ammo and magazines, OEM steel magazines from FNH are out of stock everywhere, or selling for $200 each. The FN Forum gave rave reviews for Thermold polymer 20-round magazines and mentioned that Classic Firearms had them in stock. Wasting no time, I immediately ordered two as a test.

Although significantly lighter, and unlikely to hold up to military duty, these Thermold magazines are perfect for my needs. In fact, the lighter weight makes it easier to pack into my range bag. The fit and finish allow them to work perfectly in my SCAR 17s, identical in operation to my original magazine.

I will definitely be ordering more from Classic Firearms in the future.
