Guys and Gals if you are looking for a great gun for the money and lots and lots of fun, as shown in my video, get one of these pistols while you still can. You can't go wrong with the great WWII history and the all steel construction of this little nail driver. I have put 1k+ of ammo through this gun and had no issues. Some people have reported failure to eject or fire, but this is mainly due to short cycling or hard primers on the ancient military surplus ammo they were using. I have used all new ammo and the gun works perfectly. I think the guys at Radom and Pioneer have done a great job in bringing this little piece of history to the US civilian market in semi-auto form.

I purchased this particular example of the PPS-43C back in January 2014, and have since put about 5000 rounds through it with no FTE's or FTF's. The early-production guns imported by I.O. had intermittent QA / QC issues and it was even odds whether you got a reliable, functional weapon or one that required additional work. I believe that I.O. has since worked closely with Pioneer Arms ( the Polish manufacturer ) to resolve past mechanical and tolerance issues, and I was lucky enough to get one of the later models that incorporated a higher level of quality control. Upon initial disassembly, close inspection and function testing, my example exhibited close attention to detail with no indications of any cost-cutting measures. Even the infamous leather patch recoil buffer on my PPS-43C showed signs of having been upgraded --- the OEM buffer in mine was 3/16" thick and made of solid leather, not the lightweight suede that many have complained about.

Having said that, I had put about 200 rounds through my PPS before I decided to replace the leather buffer with a polyurethane buffer from Blackjack Buffers LLC. The Blackjack buffer costs a mere $9.99 plus shipping and is rated for over 5000 rounds. It is an excellent long-term parts investment that I would recommend to any PPS-43 owner. To be fair, the OEM leather buffer at 200 rounds showed signs of moderate wear and could probably have lasted a bit longer, although it obviously cannot bear comparison with the Blackjack part.

Another small improvement that I would also recommend is to polish the feed ramp. The OEM feed ramp works fine, but does leave marks and thin, shallow scratches in brass cartridge cases. Close examination of the feed ramp in my PPS revealed concentric machining marks and a minute surface roughness on the lips of the ramp from the shaping and cutting process that were probably the cause of the marring described above. Polishing greatly improves the condition of the brass as well as ensuring smoother feeding. You can accomplish this using either a Dremel tool with the appropriate grit sizes ( progressing from medium-fine to ultra-fine ) or with silicon carbide wet / dry sand paper. I chose the latter course of action, starting with #320 grit, followed by #600, #1000 and #1500 grit to achieve a really smooth polished surface. Remember to clean off the feed ramps, chamber, bore and adjacent areas with a light solvent to remove any fine metal grit from this process when you are done.

One other thing to be aware of is that, since the folding buttstock is permanently set in the closed position ( unless you decide to restore its function with the necessary BATF protocols ), the butt itself sits very closely above the upper receiver, and it is easy to overlook the area of the receiver covered by it. Over time, and with constant exposure to the elements, this area will develop surface rust on the blued steel. To prevent this, make sure that you periodically inspect this area and clean it. A thin rag soaked in gun oil or even WD-40, CRC-556, LPS-1 or LPS-2 can be slipped into the narrow gap between the butt and the receiver to achieve this.

Not a bad weapon as long as it fires most the time, I've narrowed it down to shoot the Winchester 85 Grain and Romanian, Berdan 1980 Production ammo...the other stuff (the ammo that comes in a 72 round box) I got a lot of failure to fire (the firing pin does strike the primer...but don't throw it away, give it a second chance...99.9% of the time it'll fire the second time around...clean it before you try again...but the way I look at it....the weapon should fire whatever ammo you feed it the first time around...so, it's going back to be checked out)...it's pretty acurate too:) I'd still buy it again even I know I'm having a few issues with it....

Picked this baby up for $299 a while back. I wanted to wait some time before putting my two cents in. This is a solid shooter for a great price. I hope they get more in eventually because I want another! I will say that with it being a pistol, it is pointless to try and shoot for accuracy. These are more of a fun gun to just blast some ammo away and hit whatever. Very easy to take apart and clean, only a few parts. Also after you give the ATF your $200 and wait some time (after filling out the necessary paperwork), they can be turned into SBR with some straightforward thinking and a little work.

got this gun for my birthday but didn't get to fire it until last weekend. by fire it i mean it fired one round, and then light striked 10 rounds in a row without igniting the primers. if it was one or 2 rounds i would have blamed the ammo. but the same ammo worked perfectly in my tokarev pistol. ill have to disassemble and investigate what might have gone wrong. i like everything else about the gun and Classic firearms ships orders out really fast. maybe i got the only bad one. all the other reviews are good.

I was hesitant at first to buy this, and I don't regret it now since I got it....it was in way better shape than I expected. Haven't had a chance to fire it yet due to I was coming home from the vet (had the cat in the car with me). Mags all looked like new, I asked why the stock was welded closed (I didn't know, but this will be a FYI for those who still don't know), if it wasn't welded closed, we all would have to get a Class 3 permit to own a PPS43-c because then it would be considered a short barreled rifle...we are buying them as pistols...I'll be taken it out to the desert this next coming weekend to fire it.....and b-4 the day is out, going to buy the 9mm and do a report comparing the 9mm vs 7.62 x 25. Dealing with Classic Firearms was a pleasure, and once they get their lay away working, there's a very good chance I'll be dealing with them some more (it's easier for me to make payments than paying all at once...it be nice to have the option).

Ordered the 7.62 x25 PPS-43C about 10 days ago, once the credit card said I had the cash, it started its journey (I think it was Monday the 26th) it arrived on Friday the 30th but now I have to wait for the FFL. I just wish I knew that there was a 9mm PPS-43C earlier, would've bought that instead...AND that these guys (Classic Firearms) had a Lay Away plan so I could make payments on the 9mm PPS-43C I want to buy now (reason for the 4 stars and I was informed they are working on setting up Lay away)....but any who...I think I'll go ahead and order the 9mm one (before they run outta stock), transfer the cash outta Savings......me thinks, It's better to ask for forgiveness than permission from the boss lady....lol:) More to come once I fire them....

I bought this for an SBR project. I've put several hundred rounds through it already (while I wait for paperwork to go through), and it functions flawlessly. I haven't had a single failure to fire or feed, no jams, no problems at all. The magazines fit snugly, with no wobble at all - yet slide in easily. Cleaning it is a breeze, as it disassembles into only 3 major pieces (as far as it needs to come apart for cleaning). Sights were right on. Overall, I am extremely pleased with this gun.

I've been watching this gun on Classic Firearms for a long time, and finally took the plunge. I'm really glad I did - it's fantastic! The gun has a very high quality build and finish, and comes packed nicely and heavily oiled. Machining is sharp and tight, no rough marks or poor fit anywhere. The magazines were also oiled and appear to be new. I cleaned it up, took it to the range, and it was absolutely perfect shooting Red Army steel case ammo. No failures of any kind, and it feels great to fire. The recoil has a satisfying, big gun feel, but there's really no kick at all. To my surprise, it's pretty accurate, too. I was consistently shooting 5" groups at 30 yards without really aiming, just point and shoot. The gun BEGS to be rapid-fired, and it's easy to control even when you let it rip. If the stock could extend, I think it could be quite accurate out to 100 yards. Speaking of, I love the gun so much that I doing the SBR paperwork and I'm studying how to do the stock conversion. I bought a parts kit from another site and can't wait to do it. This is a very high-quality historical piece that's super fun to shoot. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I've only sent a few Wolf hollowpoint rounds downrange, but no FTF, FTE. If it swallows hollowpoints it surely will feed round nose FMJ's with no problem. It was everything every previous owner said it would be. I'm more than pleased with the quality.

Lots of reviews made mention of quick delivery. I ordered 12/2. Gun was picked 12/3. Then someone sat on it until 12/9 when it was 'ready for UPS.' That's what I'm peeved about.

Another great purchase from Classic Firearms. If you are on the fence about this gun, then get off and order it. Just picked up my PPS 43c from FFL today and took it straight to the range. I ran a bore snake down the barrel wiped off some oil with a rag and started sending lead down range. This gun ate up my Red Army ammo(also purchased from Classic) with ZERO issues. I used 7 different mags without a single problem. The finish is better than I expected and this gun is built like a tank. Very easy gun to take down and clean. This gun is really fun to shoot. I know that the cheap surplus ammo is dried up, but there is now new production ammo which is comparable to the cost .40 cal. so there is no excuse not to purchase this gun. Thanks Classic for another great gun at a great price.

PPS-43C

Wow! I wasn't quite sure what to expect when this arrived, but upon opening the box I was definitely pleased. This "pistol" is solid, simple, and harkens back to WWII and cold war times. While the stamping and machining of parts is crude in that it displays the marks of it's manufacture, the PPS43C is nicely finished and looks EXACTLY as one would expect. The action cycles smoothly and the appearance of this firearm is well....wicked cool!

I really don't think that someone could add a more unique and nostalgic piece for a more reasonable price. There should be zero reason to hesitate on this one. As said in another review- GET IT!

I paid $317 delivered. Simply incredible price for this weapon! Built like a tank, function is smooth, it's truly nostalgic and worth every penny. This gun will do nothing but climb in price over the years.
If I had enough money I'd buy ten more and not sell a one, and really cool with the sling on it. I've heard rumors that IO and Classic may be bringing the PM63 to the USA. If so, I'll line up for that as well. Radom does an exceptional job.

I ordered this amazing piece of history on August 24th and it arrived August 28th. You guys are simply amazing with the amount of time it took for it to get to my area of residence.

My gun came with 2 35rd mags that were on special with the gun at the time. It finish is very nice with a few rough edges but that's the appeal of a Soviet WWII-era gun, quick to produce but effective to use. It's a shame that our government would harm this gun's history by having the folding stock welded and blocked from extending out. However, from the parts kit that I have, including a working stock, and examining the interior of the receiver, turning this gun into an SBR will be a relatively harmless prospect. Just need to do the appropriate paperwork and wait the year it'll take to get back but until then, I have a perfectly functional gun that I can have fun with until I'm able to restore it to it's (near) original form.

Now, just to find 7.62x25mm Tokarev ammo in quantity for cheap!

Received my pps faster than expected. Didnt expect much for 299 but was shocked at the quality of the firearm and how much fun it was to shoot. The rate of fire is also amazing.The 7.62x25 round is a little hard to find but in my opinion is worth it for its power and hisorical value.This was my first purchase from classic and will defiantly be ordering from them again.

What can I say, 36 rounds of a great caliber, 2 mags, mostly steel, tried and proven SIMPLE design. If it wasn't for shotguns this would be by my bed. If you can't afford a 10 round plus semi-auto shotgun this is a must. Mags are cheap, ammo is mid range price, and it is dependable. You can pick up the sling for $5 online. Do not tamper with the welded stock, it is a 10 year prison sentence and you really don't need a SBR in your house. SBR is for concealed entry while being more accurate than a pistol - that is why you need a tax stamp for a SBR - like I said you really don't need it. In other words it was banned (without a stamp) because the government doesn't want accurate firepower sneaking into buildings.

I picked one of these up a few years ago from Classic... outstanding purchase!!! I've had no issues from the "pistol" aside from the 50's headstamp (54 or 53 mostly here) surplus ammo. That stuff is supposed to be corrosive anyway, so I spray down with windex after firing that stuff and prior to cleaning... just to neutralize any possible corrosive agents. I have had no problems so far at all out of any new ammo (S&B fired so far, just picked up another brand to try). Great inexpensive shooter that I am very accurate at closer distances with (the longer sight distance front to rear than a standard pistol really helps accuracy, even with the stock being fixed in the folded position). I can actually see this used as a practical weapon as well as the bonus cool historic factor. Now that surplus ammo has dried up somewhat it is a little more expensive to shoot, but not terrible by any means. If you want hassle free use buy new ammo, not 50's surplus designed to be fired in an open bolt gun. It needs that mass/impact of the bolt slamming forward to trigger some of these old rounds. Like I said, with the good rounds this thing is outstanding and VERY fun to shoot!

I purchased this gem a short time ago. First day at the range was last week. It ran very well using some old Chinese Mfg. ammo with only two failures in 100 rounds-both towards the end when things were pretty dirty. This is understandable when you take a simple WWII open bold gun and convert to closed bolt, I guess. The thing was designed to be pumped out en masse for uneducated farm boys and -girls to literally take directly from the factory into battle. It's simple, pretty darn accurate (minute of grapefruit at 40 yards), and a lot of fun. the only con is that this simplicity means it gets carbon fouling everywhere and it's a real s.o.b. to clean. (oh, and ammo is pretty scarce) Nevertheless it's a great piece of history and fun to shoot. So much so that I may look into getting the stock retaining pin drilled out and convert it into a legal SBR. (Seems that you could make a fortune on these doing the conversion yourselves and selling them here). Great shipping, great customer service, 100% satisfied!

Four stars only because I've not had the chance to light this one up. Once you hold it, any ideas of this being an awkward gun vanish. Once you hold it, you understand. Some have whined about the button on the backside not working right. You have to actually close it.
A very, capital V, very easy strip and clean. If you're a sissy about finish, let it go. It came from a factory far far away. Buy this. Thank you Classic Firearms!

I got one of these last week and have already put a couple hundred rounds thru it. I am extremely pleased with it. The construction is rock solid and the finish is very nice. It functioned beautifully (except for a few FTF from the 60 year old surplus ammo I was using). The magazines are rugged and are a breeze to insert and remove. The only thing I didn't like was that the front sight blade is a weak plastic screw that has a slot cut out in the middle of it (?). It broke when I was drifting the front sight. I was able to repair and reinstall it. Other than that I love this pistol! Get one while you still can.

I usually don't write reviews but I felt compelled. I purchased mine with a gift certificate that was given as a late birthday present. And that is the only reason I give it four stars instead of five. There were some minor but very frustrating complications in trying to use the certificate. The code was invalid for at least 48 hours before it would except it. Once that hurdle was out of the way, everything else was smooth sailing. The gun arrived fast and in superb condition, I took it apart(very easy to do) and cleaned it. I have shot roughly 200 rounds through it with four different mags with no problem. When I took it apart there were some rough edges, but filing and reblue kit you would never know. At the price of 299.99 you get more than what you pay for. I'm seriously considering purchasing a few more of these. But most definitely puchasing from Classic Firearms in the future. Thanks to the builders, sales, customer service and everyone in between. And some people are saying that ammo is hard to find. I can get it anytime I want in MS. Surplus and new brass. I pay $17 aprox. for 50 rounds surplus and around $26 for new brass.

This thing is so flipping accurate for a sub-gun, it's kind of ridiculous. And that's WITHOUT use of the stock! At 25 yards, and roughly 150 rds, there was no more middle to my target. I've put probably over 1000 rounds through it so far.

Due to the weight of the gun, recoil is very minimal. It's a bit hefty to hold with no stock, but you'll get over it.

I was having a lot of light strikes (about one or two every 100 rounds) and decided my buffer looked pretty beat to sheeet and probably was not giving me enough spring tension. I got a new one from Blackjack Buffers and now no more light strikes. Boom. Literally.

I only use new production ammo and keep it clean! Pick one o these bad boys up so you make all your friends jealous when they're gone! ;)

I am not going to sugar coat my review just because I'm excited about a new gun. The amount of stars i give aren't based on "like or dislike". The star rating clearly says "Quality" and will be judged as such. That being said, I bought two of these guns and so the rating will be based off of both.


First gun (7.62x25):
I got this gun and noticed the front barrel shroud and barrel were very crooked (down and to the right) relative to the centerline of the receiver. I used a laser bore sighter to align the front sight but it hit the limit of windage before I could zero it and the front sight was so high it was almost touching the right front sight protector ear. Since the barrel shroud is crooked it protrudes into the receiver more and interferes with the path of the bolt. The gun is useless and I have to send it to IO Inc for a replacement but it has been weeks and still no call back from their gunsmith. There was some poor workmanship grinding in a few other spots where they forced the upper and lower to fit.

Second Gun (9mm):
This one was built properly. It functioned ok with my hand loads but the ejector/spring guide didn't reach far enough into the center of the bolt face and would fail to eject some cases. I had a jam once and after I cleared the stuck case I found two more empty cases that had fallen under the bolt in the empty spot in the lower receiver section. I had to squeeze the receiver a bit to take up some excessive clearance between the bolt and receiver. This brought the ejector closer to the center of the bolt and fixed my ejection problems. This gun also had some poor workmanship where the upper and lower latch hole is.

The design overall:
The stamped steel edges will slice your hand. Use a diamond file and some touch up bluing on the cocking handle slot and under the chamber area where your hand will rub the receiver when holding at the mag well. The semi -auto firing mechanism looks frail. The hammer is not hardened properly as it is beat up from hitting the firing pin. I really hope there will be spare parts years from now when they break. The folded stock looks neat but expect some cuts or blisters on your fingers as the stock rail sticks out right in the way. While this is a neat gun I don't think the 5 stars it keeps getting is justifiable even for a novelty gun. I would say max is 4 stars if it’s in perfect working order. Since there is a chance you'll get a poor quality lemon like I did I bumped it down to 3 stars.

I really like this semi-auto re-make by the famous RADOM Company's infamous Russian WWII Submachine Gun.. It's a great buy & the price is right. The Gun is lots of fun to shoot & pretty accurate at close range. I would recommend everyone buy one while they're still being sold here in the USA. It's easy to shoot & simple to disassemble & clean. It fires great on new production ammunition without any problems. The older surplus ammo has quite a few misfires due to harder primers but will fire after reloading them over again. Buy the "Shooters Package" to get a great carrying case along with 3 extra magazines, highly recommended....

All tho I have not had the chance to fire it, (finding ammo is like hens teeth) I think it is bad ass!! Still cannot believe this is classified as a hand gun. Would be interesting to qualify with it for a concealed carry permit! Just kidding. Fit and finish is nice, I disassembled the entire gun and found a few sharp edges from the machining, fine tooth file smoothed it nice. So far very happy with my purchase.

I bought my PPS-43c early January, but today i had time and warmer weather, so I took it to the range. Grouping was nice, shot like a dream, it felt like shooting a .22! Now if ammo was as easy to find as it is shooting this gun I would be in heaven. If you are thinking about buying one, stop thinking and buy it! Easy cleaning gun, and price will only go up.

Enjoyable gun and it has always fed, fired, and ejected. But with new commercial ammo I have consistently bulged, cratered primers, expanded brass at the neck, and dented brass after ejection. Classic and the importer very helpful and offered to examine and repair, but with a 8 week turnaround. Online research revealed similar problems helped by adding weight to the bolt and sometimes shimming the spring. I added weight to the bolt and this cured 80% of the problem so I will hang onto it as is.

I bought the original 7.62x25mm version of the PPS-43C with the shooters package. I'm very happy with my new PaPa-Sha Gun, (5 mags, & new soft black case). It's a really cool looking little sub-gun, it's pretty accurate, easy to shoot & a lot of fun to shoot on the range, (& it turns a lot of heads too). I would highly recommend using the newer manufactured 7.62x25mm Tokerav ammo though. The old surplus ammo seems to have a very hard primer & doesn't fire every round on the 1st strike, but I reloaded the misfires in another magazine & they all fired on the second try... With new production ammo, it fires flawlessly.. BUY ONE ASAP while you still can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heck of a great Christmas present, eh? This semi-automatic subgun is the highest quality East Bloc arm that I have encountered. The stamped and riveted construction yielded no sharp edges whatsoever. The black finish was smooth and tool marks were non existent. The forward magazine well, designed with use as a foregrip, is comfortable to hold, and the magazine release lies just beneath the shooters thumb.
The PPS43 does not come with a manual, and I couldn't find an English translation online. Wikipedia provided the specs (!) and trial and error found the release to swing the upper receiver from to lower to provide access to the bolt, barrel breech, and trigger group. Okay, the gun is probably too simple to require a manual. There are only about a dozen components and, these were designed to be overhauled with a hammer and screwdriver by a goatherd conscript.
The sights are sharp and clear. The front sight is easily adjustable for windage and the rear sight has two settings; 100 and 200 meters.
I tested the pistol out back in 20 degree weather with gloves on. Not a problem. I tried one magazine with a full charge of 35 rounds of PRVI Partisan ammo, and tested another three mags with five rounds each. The cartridges snapped into the mags from one to thirty-five with no difficulty, and fed flawlessly through the last shot. There is no bolt hold open feature following the last shot. I'm guessing that an extra device would complicate the works.
My main objective besides testing for functionality was to figure out how to hold a 6-1/2 pound handgun and shoot the thing accurately. I chose a seated position and rested my elbows on my knees. The sling (not included) provided extra support, although the standard web sling is a little short for more than carrying. With this sling installed the PPS hangs flat against the back when hung from the right shoulder.
Like I said, it is awkward to shoot, but once a solid position is acquired, the trigger is silky smooth and breaks without disturbing the aim. At fifteen yards the rounds hit about two inches above point of aim. The empty brass was ejected ten yards to just forward of the firing line. Had I known this, I would have avoided launching half of the reload able brass into the high weeds. Nuts.
I did all my shooting with gloves on and had a ball bouncing my rubber bouncy targets around the yard. No complaints here. The PPS43 is about as cool as they come.

front sight post broke off in the first 5 rounds and i was ignored with the 3 or 4 attempts i made to have have another sent. it can be sent in an envelope with a stamp and id say classic has one laying around.... otherwise the pps43 is a fine weapon.

This is probably the funnest gun I have ever fired or owned. There is practically no recoil, it's quite accurate for a "sub gun" and the thing is stupid easy to take apart and maintain.

The only negative I can put here is that the front post sight came out (Or broke off?) while at the range for the first time. Classic doesn't have replacements and IO doesn't get back to you, but this is apparently a fairly common problem among these guns, so says the forums, so check your front sight!! I was able to find a replacement on gunbroker.com and all is good!

Other than that, a sure new favorite of mine!

Wonderful weapon! Shoots a little high, but, other than that, spectacular. There are two reasons for the 4-Star review: The woman (cannot remember her name) that took my order over the phone was extremely rude, and sighed numerous times while trying to locate one of the additional items I wanted; second, I find it slightly irritating that they throw in an optional carrying case and three additional magazines for $60 shortly after I purchased the weapon.

Friends: I bought a PPS-43C pistol when they first came on the scene.I own a Radom made M-44 carbine and a Radom made P-64 handgun.This copy of the WW2 sub machine gun was used by the Polish military during the cold war years and the Radom Arsenal made guns were very well finished.I bought 1800 hundred rounds of surplus Polish 7.62x25 ammo and later was offered 1200 hundred rounds of new Seller and Bellot factory ammo at a great price.The gun came with four magazines and three were wrapped in paper marked 'spare parts" All of the magazines work perfectly.These can be stopped from importation with the stroke of the Presidents pen and Classic Firearms is the place to secure one for yourself.

Just received my PPS43, this is one solid gun, fires very well, looks like new, nice finish on the metal, blued finish, handles very well with very little recoil and not a lot of noise. Ran a few full mags through so just be sure to clean the gun and mags first or you will get jams. Fires very smoothly. For the money this is a unique, effective, and collectable firearm. Have two PPS43C. Both shot well out of the box using Wichester rounds. No problems either gun. Switched to late-50s russian brass/fmj and both had the occasional failure-to-eject (assume powder in rounds had slight degradation). Using Winchester ammo still shoots 100%. Cheap, sturdy, easy to clean and overall fun to shoot. May get another just to have for good spare parts,

What a gun. I love it. I did have a problem with the recoil spring pad. It was soft and tore apart while shooting. I replaced it with a piece of leather and solved problem. Very few misfires with old surplus ammo. A one inch piece of steel fell out of the gun but I was unable to identify. It does not effect the way gun shoots. Buy one while you can.

This is one of several guns that I have purchased from Classic. It shipped quickly and was nicely packaged. The fit and finish is about what you would expect for this type of weapon. Gun arrived wet with gun oil but no gunk. It cleaned up quickly. One of the two mags that came with it required some work to make it function properly. it would seat just fine, but was extremely difficult to get out . After a bit of fitting it works fine. Very simple and fun gun. Take down is easy which is a plus when using corrosive surplus ammo. Not the most practical gun out there but a great addition to my Mil surp collection. Will definitely buy more firearms from Classic!!!

I bought mine before the price got too high, and received 4 mags as well, I have shot about 200+ rounds through it and it functions great,only had 2 light primer strikes(probably because I was bump firing). Also to the asshat who complained about the price increase, you should have bought it before all this stuff happened,I picked up 2000 rounds of romy ammo for $350 at a gunshow, I also have the romy tok pistol to make it a set.( looking forward to the zombie apocolypse) Thanks, Classic, keep up the good work!!!

I ordered my PPS 43c during the height of the rush sometime in late December. Shipping wasn't very fast at that time, but I didn't expect it would be. I received the pistol and the shooter's package and everything was as I expected. Cleaned up all the cosmoline and had it out to the range within a week or so. Worked great initially, but encountered some firing pin problems after @240 rounds. After contacting the folks there at Classic and discussing the problem with them via email, we finally came up with a repair solution. They went out of their way to help me in any way possible, Rick especially!

Long story short, I was finally able to return to the range after the repair and it is shooting great now. I've made a few upgrades. Try painting the front post sight with some neon nail polish, it helps to make it much more visible. I also cut the notch deeper on the rear sight ( the 100 yard notch) to make it as deadly accurate at 10 yards as it is at 50.

Customer service at Classic really is as good as people in the reviews say. Everyone there I communicated with went out of their way to help and showed genuine concern for the problem and I was more than satisfied with the end results. These were cheaper a while back. Guess what? So was everything else! Classic's prices are more than competitive with anyone elses' and their customer service can't be beat. Suffice it to say I have since ordered the Romanian TTC pistol and just yesterday ordered the M44 Mosin Nagant to keep them company.

Classic Firearms, you have a customer for life! (any chance at a hand pick on that M44?)

This was my first time dealing with Classic Firearms and I purchased at the beginning of the frenzy in December and the service and delivery was great under the circumstances. At $399 the price was right for a novelty firearm like the PPS-43. I haven't had it to the range yet since ammo is very scarce and very expensive. That is the only drawback. This is a specialty ammo and surplus ammo has been hoarded up so it is not cheap to shoot this round anymore. As far a the gun itself, it is very heavy and don't expect tight tolerances as it was designed to be cheaply mass produced then and still is now. You can expect to turn a lot of heads, have a really cool firearm to show off for years to come, and get great service from Classic Firearms.

Just picked up my PPS-43C this morning along with two extra mags. It looks fantastic after a quick inspection.One of the mags little floor plate slide had come off in the box, but slid it right back on. The reviews on this have been awesome, and one of the factors in buying this high-cap. mag pistol, is to stick it in your face MR PRESIDENT. Not really, just as my own little protest. I also recently bought the Romanian TTC Tokarev pistol, also in the 7.62X25 caliber. Also a great looking pistol for it's age. I can't wait to get out and do some shooting with both of these beauties. Looks like the price has gone up a bit on the PPC-43C, so my advice is to get off the fence if you are hesitating and get one while you can.

Saw this vintage pistol, read about, and decided to buy one. Now I have two. Love it. Is very accurate. Recoil is slight unless I'm shooting over 400 rounds. Just an awlful lot of fun
Ammunition is tough to find right now but being how things are right now they'll come back around.

Firearm arrived in solid packaging with two magazines. Everything looked very good, just as advertised. Took to the range yesterday and fired about 100 rounds through the pistol. Had 4 misfires, all of which had good solid pin contact, probably a bad primer. I was using 80s vintage Romanian ammo. The firearm was very dirty from the ammo. Cleaning was a breeze, although it took a long time due to the large amount of residue on the weapon. I would recommend wearing a glove on your forward hand, mine is sore today from the recoil. Overall this was a very nice gun.

A Bit of History

Although this firearm was made after WWII and is Polish, it is an excellent functioning replica of the Russian PPS43 sub-machinegun of WWII. As a collector of WWII firearms it was difficult to pass on the opportunity to own one of these; even with the recent price increases. I do not expect them to be available as a new purchase much longer and I’m fairly confident that prices will double a few years down the road. I do not intend to shoot this firearm often, as I am more intrigued with it for presentation purposes. Nonetheless, I have tried it out and would like to make a few observations regarding its capability as a shooter.

First, my PPS43c works flawlessly with commercial ammunition. Reliability is less with hard military surplus primers.

Second, it is reasonably accurate (even without the stock) and the sights can be adjusted to the user’s liking.

Third, recoil is minimal. A “hail of lead” can be put down range with reasonable accuracy.

Fourth, both magazines were in excellent condition and work properly.

Fifth, the “lock work” inside the pistol was well done. Precise in its semi-auto function, appears adequately hardened, and the hammer locks back properly; which was a problem on the earlier versions.

If you are looking at the PPS43c as “a shooter”, there may be better choices in the small machine pistol, high capacity magazine genre. If you are looking for a functional piece of history for the occasional plinking session, this one is hard to beat.

Just received my PPS-43C, caused quite a stir at my local FFL...(Room went silent!) Even amongst the AR-15 faithful. (They don't know what they're missing!) Hit the range on the weekend, (another "E F Hutton" type moment) and squeezed off about 60 to 70 rounds through all mags, and I'm happy to report that she fired flawlessly, even freakishly accurate at 25, 35 & 50 ft....Easy to field strip & clean, most fun I've had in years. God, do I love "Eastern Block" stuff!! Kudos to Classic Firearms for a superb product!! I've already ordered and waiting on a Tokarev and have referred you to friends.....Keep up the good work!

Pros: Very easy to handle; a replica piece of WW2 victorious history; the most accurate shooter among my collections (to my surprise).

Cons: 3 out of the 4 mags do not fit well into the gun, but got prompt advice from Classic Arms tech support, the manufacturer IO Inc's replacement mags are on the way.

Conclusion: Glad to have one, and plan to buy one more later (even though the price has increased since my prior purchase).

Saw this gun in a magazine and had to have it and classic is the only online place I trust so I grabbed one right away. I was more impressed than the reviews I read. This thing worked flawlessly through 4 magazines and I was hitting targets at 50 yards with no problem. Very accurate and honestly a very practical gun! This is not a novelty gun to me! Awesome gun for the $ and I will probably buy another.

I love this gun. Just got this a couple of weeks ago, and on my first trip to the range, it had the attention of everyone there. People stopped by to ask what it was, including the range officers. I tried 4 kinds of 7.62x25 Tokarev surplus ammo - Polish, Bulgarian, Chinese and Czech -- all ran through no problem. I had a couple of light primer strikes in all the ammo I ran through, and since most of it is 50+ year old surplus, I chalk it up to that. I worried originally that this gun would be hard to aim without a stock, but my first shot was a kill shot directly dead center through the head of the paper target. All four mags worked out of the box, and this fits perfectly in the Bulldog 25" bag. Very very satisfied with this purchase.

Love this weapon, but need to report a minor issue. First time to the range it fired 3 times out of 20 or so rounds chambered. Got pissed and put it away. When I got home and after cleaning it, I noticed the un-fired rounds had light primer hits. Checking the hammer, I noticed 1 of the Hammer springs was not engaging. I put it into proper position and it ran great next trip to the range. Fun weapon, especially rapid fire from hip! Just thought I'd mention the fix needed in case someone else should run into the same problem.

I got this firearm about two weeks ago. Received from FFL with no problems. Gun looked AMAZING. Got to see my old friend cosmoline again but that is to be expected with any surplus firearm. Weather was too hot or rainy here in the hoosier state for a little bit but finally got to take it for a run this weekend. Shot about 100 bulgarian surplus round without a jam or misfire. About a 2in-3in grouping for a novice shooter at 50 yards. Awesome weapon, fun to shoot, and great service all around from my favorite website! Thanks classic firearms!!!

Hi. First of all I bought the shooters package and they sent me the gun only. They didn''t answer my email, so I called and they said they would send the missing items.

I Fired the gun three times and the back end of the gun kept popping open. Turns out the latch pin was not going into the latch hole because of dirt/junk. Cleaned that and it stayed closed. Took it back to range today and had 9 light strikes and no strikes in a row. Then on the 10th time, Parts of the extractor broke off the assembly.

I have wanted this gun for a long time.. Now it looks like I paid alot of money for a gun that I will never be able to shoot again.

I have lurked on this web site for a long time. This was my first order and I am very disappointed.

If you throw a one-point sling on this is becomes an amazing semi-automatic weapon. Simply "punch it out" as you would with an MP-5 and you are good to go. The 7.62 x 25 round is hot enough to beat most body armor and the mechanism is simple enough to require little or no modification to make it combat ready.

Picked up this gun as I'm into older military guns rather than the newer ones. Grabbed some ammo and went to the range. Couldn't be happier with this pistol. At 25 yds easily can put rounds in a 2" circle and its really not much more kick than a 9mm. Gets a lot of looks at the range as well. Many of my friends now want to pick one up!!

I bought this with the shooters package, which was a good value. I've had no negative issues whatsover with this gun or any of its four magazines. It's fun to shoot, just the sight of it would make a bad guy soil his pants, and the price is incredible. Classic Firearms had it to my dealer in 3 days, so you can't beat that.
