The anticorrosive slide can be disconnected from the polymer lower receiver without the need to pull the trigger. This can be considered an additional passive safety – just like the pistol’s ability to allow consecutive striker actions (real double action) without the need to re-rack the slide. This second-strike capability is fantastic and allows the shooter to attempt to re-fire even on a bad primer should the pistol fail to cycle.  State-of-the-art characteristics like anti-corrosive surface protection, high-capacity double-stack magazines, and Picatinny rails to mount tactical lights/lasers are the answer to the requirements of modern forces. Please Note: These TARA pistols are sold as Blem models and may show some minor cosmetic blemishes. In most cases the blems are so minor you would not notice if it were not pointed out and in all cases, the blems are limited strictly to the finish. All of the pistols are otherwise 100% as new and fully functional. More about the trigger.

The Tara trigger operation is striker-fired and features a proprietary DARE System, which stands for Double Action Rapid Engagement. This means that the trigger resets the firing pin after a 3mm release of the trigger. This allows fast precision taps after the first round fired in Double Action. The trigger pull is comparably soft for a DA system. There is no need to pull the trigger to disassemble the firearm. This helps to prevent accidental discharges during cleaning procedures, and there are two additional internal safeties.  The firing pin safety, which blocks the firing pin within the channel right behind the breach-face, until the trigger bar has been moved rearward by the trigger, safety remains active. The firing pin reset spring guarantees that the striker remains in the engaged position at all times and cannot float freely in the firing pin channel. Combining these internal safety explains why it is unnecessary to have any external levers to prevent the firing pin from penetrating the breach face unless the trigger is pulled.

More about the barrel and slide. 

The barrel and slide of the TM-9X are machined from solid stainless steel bars and undergo a special surface treatment to guarantee extreme hardness and corrosion resistance. All remaining metal parts within the system are also treated with special anti-friction and anti-corrosion processes. This allows the manufacturer to give an extended 50,000 rounds guarantee on all main parts of the pistol. The bore axis of the TM-9X is incredibly low. The slide's extraordinary design and ergonomic grip made it possible to provide a system with a bore-axis being almost 10mm lower than most comparable polymer pistols. This guarantees a felt recoil reduction and the fastest possible target acquisition after every round fired.
