I have no idea why these were de-activated as they appear that they would have been fully functional otherwise, but just to be clear these do not shoot and we are selling them as non-working firearms. These are original #1 Mk3 British Enfield rifles in .303 caliber that have been rendered un-fireable by clipping the firing pin and then welding and smoothing the bolt face so that the bolt will not catch a cartridge. See images and video for full details. I don't know if these were made unfireable to be used in a movie or what, but they look like many historically correct non-firing prop rifles that I have seen. The only difference is that these were rendered inoperable in a much less invasive ( but still effective way ) than many other "prop" rifles that I have seen in the past. The bores are unobstructed and in original surplus condition so they are not bore or chamber plugged like some de-commissned rifles which virtually ruins the rifle completely. These have simply had the firing pin clipped short below the bolt face, and the bolt face welded up and then ground flat so that the bolt will not accept, insert, or fire a cartridge. In theory I suppose that the firing pin and bolt face could potentially be replaced and that they could possibly be re-headspaced by a competent gunsmith to make them fire-able, but we may be wrong or might have missed something, so we are simply selling them as is, as non functioning firearms, with no representation that they would ever be anything but wall hangers. Price point is certainly right and at this price it's a great chance to own a piece of history working or not. Perfect for collectors, re-enactors, or that low budget B movie you've been planning to produce. No returns on this item. Because the receivers are un-molested they do require a FFL or C&R for purchase. No collection is complete without the addition of an Enfield.... Don't Miss This.......C & R Eligible
