AMD-65 Pistol 7.62x39, Semi-Auto, W /1-30 Round Mag, by James River Armory - Model # AK-65D

The AMD-65 (Hungarian: Automata Módosított Deszant 1965; Automatic Modified Paratroopet) is a Hungarian-manufactured licensed variant of the venerable AKM rifle for use by that nation's armored infantry and paratrooper units. The rifle's design is suited for use as an infantry rifle but can also be used from within the confines of an armored vehicle as a fire support weapon due to the side-folding stock that allows it to be more compact than a fixed stock rifle. The front hand guard is made of perforated sheet metal, giving it a distinctive appearance rather than the more traditional wood, and the rifle lacks the normal upper hand guard. The AK-65D is assembled from original AMD-65 parts kits with US made barrels and receivers by our friends at James River Armory as a pistol. Unlike many rifles built from these kits, this allow them to use a shorter barrel more similar to the length of the original military issued rifle. The stock is retained but welded in the folded position to preserve its classification as a pistol, but could be restored to function once paperwork for creation of an SBR is received from the ATF if you wanted to go the NFA firearm route. The pistol comes with one 30rd magazine in a hard rifle case. The pistol comes with a TPI competition style muzzle brake, and all the parts have been professionally refinished to a beautiful blue.Since it is a pistol, the original forward vertical grip has been omitted.
