This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. No. 4 Mk 1 Enfield rifles are not terribly rare, but really nice original ones are, and this is a really nice original. I can't prove it but I believe that this is the original un-refinished stock. It is not perfect as it has a few dents and dings, but the buttstock matches well to the fore end and the forearm has some really pretty tiger stripe type grain that makes this rifle visually unique. bluing is also not perfect but far better than most enfields that you are able to find. Most importantl of all though may be the bore. This one is mirror bright with crisp lands and grooves. That is most unusual as most enfields on the market unfortunately have rather poor bores. This rifle is 100% complete with all parts intact including the rear sight and the sling swivels. The cock on close bolt action is smooth as silk and the sights are orignal and micro adjustable for elevation/yardage. There are no import re-numbers and the rifle still carries it's original serial #. I have fired the rifle and it shot great but as with any surplus you may want to have it checked by a gunsmith before firing. Also, if you are not familiar with Enfileds their safeties can be tricky so please familiarize yourself with the safety before firing, and always practice safe gun handling. I am asking a premium price for this rifle becase to me it is a premium grade rifle. At the same time I'm certain that I couldn't replace it with this quality at this price.... especially with the Frankenstein parted up Enfields that are predominantly on the market today. I purchased this one from an individual at a gun show probably 25 years ago and it has been in my climate controlled safe ever since. Now, I'm letting it go. .... This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. This rifle is C&R Eligible. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold. See more about the rifle below.
