The frame is constructed from 7075 T6 aircraft grade heat treated aluminum alloy, while the Zytel polymer frame includes ergonomic finger grooves and a built-in recoil cushion on the backstrap. The slide is made of stainless steel with an overmolded Zytel polymer extension for smooth operation. This Double Action Only (DAO) pistol features an internal hammer with an inertial firing pin for added safety, along with an external thumb safety with a guard integrated into the frame. The trigger pull is consistent and smooth at 9 pounds. The firearm comes with two 10-round magazines, both equipped with finger extension bases, as well as two flat magazine bases. The Gen3 model of the CPX-1 offers enhancements such as a picatinny rail, upgraded sights, and an improved grip for added functionality and convenience.
