The Sierra Bullets 1385: Varminter Bullets have been meticulously designed for fast expansion and quick kills on larger varmints and small game. These bullets feature thin jackets that facilitate expansion, yet are strong enough to withstand the highest muzzle velocities for the specified cartridges. The assortment of bullet shapes in this range include hollow point (HP), spitzer pointed flat base (SPT), and semi-pointed (SMP).
The bullets that carry the Blitz label are specifically constructed for medium velocity, which is under 3600 fps. On the other hand, Hornet bullets are built to expand effectively within the 2500 to 2800 fps velocity range. However, they can also be loaded into cartridges capable of generating up to a 3500 fps muzzle velocity. When used at 223 Remington velocities, the Hornet functions as an explosive "Blitz" style Varminter.
