Brutus' Description

I first saw these at the Century Booth at Shot Show in January of this year. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. In fact the only problem that we can find with them is that we can't seem to get enough to meet the demand. They are very nice.
Here is the deal. Basically Century has taken their C39 Milled AK rifles to the next level with the introduction of this rifle. They are really nice.

Century Arms introduced the first 100% American made AK rifle to the market 5 years ago. We are excited to now offer the newest addition to the C39 line of rifles, the new C39v2, the American AK. It is 100% American made with no imported parts, built on a milled receiver machined from a solid 11 lb. block of 4140 ordnance quality steel. Enhancements include a T shaped magazine catch, compatibility with AKM furniture, a bolt hold open safety, an enhanced dust cover and standard AK sights. The C39v2 is coated with black nitrite and uses a new enhanced RAK-1 trigger group. The C39v2 barrel has a concentric left hand 14x1 metric thread and is ready for a variety of muzzle attachments. Also, unlike many Milled Receiver rifles this rifle features a built in side rail to make mounting optic's a breeze.

Accepts all standard high capacity AK-47 mags and drums. Comes with 1-30 round magazine.

Quality American AK
Review by honeyfadjer on 10/24/2015

I was skeptical to buy an All-American AK but was pleasantly surprised first time out on the range. It is a solid steel milled receiver and is a little heavier than your standard AK but it makes up in accuracy. The best part about it is the two stage trigger, which adds for a nice light weight break. All around this gun is great and would recommend to any one.
an AK, of one of the best, was just made so much better.

I bought the C39 v2 about 5 months ago and gave the Version 1 I had to my son, He did say thanks. I had been waiting for someone,( I am glad it was an American company), to take the AK platform and improve it with some of the newer Tech we have available now. I mean a Nitrided barrel and receiver nice walnut woodwork and American craftsmanship. The end result is a BEAUTIFUL, DURABLE and SOLID weapon you can be proud of and one that will go the distance and take whatever you have to do to get the job done.
Flawless USA made AK Highest Quality!

Just shot my new C39v2 AK from Century Arms and it ran flawlessly! Terrific AK for a good price. Shot 150 rounds of Arsenal Bulgarian made 7.62x39 ammo and C39v2 performed beyond my expectations. I'm very happy with my purchase. Easy clean up( I know it would run fine without probably) and re-assembly no problem. Always clean all my guns after each use; that's just me. C39v2 is an exceptional value!
great rifle

I was hesitant to purchase a century product. I own a few AK patterned rifle from various manufacturers like Norinco and arsenal. However, i was looking to get a milled variant and the C39V2 seemed to fit the bill for what i wanted. I must say that century has really hit a home run with this rifle. The fit and finish ate outstanding, but the function is what is truly important. Function wise, this AK is on par with my Com bloc AKs so far. I only have about 300 rounds through it and the only hiccup so far has been an old steel mag that had a bad spring, causing a failure to feed. Still, not the rifle's fault. I will say that putting on the new furniture was a royal PITA! The stock wood furniture were all press fit (very well if i might add) and it took some major coercion to get the stock and handguard out. Putting on the Troy long bottom rail requires alot of semi-precision work such as; removal of the gas block mounted sling loop that comes on the C39V2. And removal of a decent amount of aluminum under the rear part of the forward picattiny rail in under to give the gas block enough clearnce. Still, nothing a dremel, diamond head grinding attachment and some cutting disks can't fix. All in all ot was a 5 hour project to get everything done to my C39V2. The fact that this rifle is milled but accepts stamped patterned furniture is a great idea. It certainly turns some heads at the range and now my buddy wants to get one as well. I'll tell him to order it from here. Classic firearms had the lowest price i could find and shipping, although a little bit high, was still very reasonable. Altogether i got this rifle for $743 after shipping and transfer fee. If i would've bought it from a store i'd be lucky to find it for under $750 before taxes. In summation of my long winded review, i say the Century Centurion 39 Version 2 is a great milled AK for a reasonable price. Hope someone found this review useful. Stay safe and keep shootin' straight!
American quality at its finest!

I have not shot this rifle yet, but judging by the fit and finish, I can tell it is going to be a winner!I have 10 other AK-47 type rifles, including two Chinese, and this one measures up with the Chinese AK's! in my opinion, Century Arms has a definite winner with the C 39 v2!

This was delivered to my ffl dealer. Everyone loved the fit and finish. Wood is premium. Can't wait to get it on the range. Little heavy but should be perfect with very little barrel jump.

Pro:
Beautiful rifle the finish is really smooth
Trigger* crisp and clean
Wood Furniture (although removed) was very nice.
Accurate, great barrel
Price

Cons:
Trigger, mine took about 250 rounds to break in properly it caught on the reset.
Hand guard retainer, mine cracked, Cent offer to replace but I had already installed a bolt on from brownel's
I am not a fan of the front sling on the yugo gas port, makes fitting aftermarket fore ends a pain. Forcing you to grind it off, which broke my heart.
It is kinda of... AKM compatible, stock grip yes, fore end sometimes.
The rear sight has the finish on the top blade which picks up the ambient glare and makes it difficult to acquire the front post in low light.

A know it seems like the cons out weigh the pros, but the fit and finish was exceptional and it runs smooth after the break-in. I am very please with this rifle and would by it again.
Nice AK

Pro's:
It's a milled receiver.
Heavy chrome lined barrel.
Nice finish.
Nice solid Walnut furniture. Price is good for a milled AK47.

Conns:
Like Centries C39, the new V2 dust cover fit was loose. This seems to be a small issue as many have blogged about this, simple fix, order a original milled receiver cover and it will fit like a glove.
The new "upgraded trigger group" I noticed no real improvement over the Tapco G2 trigger group.

My v2 was a custom build using the milled receiver and barrel for a solid foundation. Many have asked me about installing a ultimak upper and lower handguard, the ultimak fits very nice with no mods. The v2 receiver is straight cut in the back end versus a typical slant like all other milled aks. If you get this and upgrade the buttstock for tactical purposes, make sure you don't buy a standard milled receiver adapter block but get a stamped receiver block. The new trigger group with some polishing of the trigger group and bolt and carrier is very capable of achieving 3lb trigger pull for those that like a fast trigger. Over all, worth the money and good buy.
