FN 38-100840: Post 9/11, the war in Afghanistan is mid-swing. The SOF wants a new battle rifle that has better stopping power at further ranges than the standard M4. FN answered the call with the SCAR-H, a 7.62 x 51 NATO, short-stroke gas piston-driven rifle ready for the riggers of desert warfare. This gun became an instant classic and has been featured in tons of films and video games. It is still in service today with the special operations community, and this commercial version is ready to take on any long-range session you can throw at it. This SCAR features a free-floating 16.25" Cold Hammer Forged barrel that is chrome lined for corrosion resistance with any ammo. The barrel is tipped with FN's compensator to help ease the recoil of .308 WIN. The SCAR's upper receiver is a monolithic piece of aluminum with a full-length Picatinny rail on top with additional rail pieces at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions. Ready for all accessories that attach via 1913 rails. This rifle comes with a folding front sight and a removable folding rear sight. A proprietary ABS plastic folding stock fits the end of this rifle and is fully adjustable for length of pull and comb heights. An A2 pistol grip gives you that military rifle feel, but can be changed to accept most AR-15 grips. The SCAR comes with a fully ambidextrous safety selector, magazine release, and the charging handle can be mounted on either side of the rifle. This special rifle features a hydro dip Tru Viper camouflage finish on the aluminum receivers and black furniture.
