The Kershaw 7100BW, also known as the Launch 1, is an impressive unit that features a blade made from CPM154 powdered metallurgy steel. This type of steel boasts a consistent distribution of carbides, enabling it to form and maintain a top-quality edge. In addition to this, it resists corrosion and wears remarkably well, while also providing a high level of toughness.
The blade is enhanced with Kershaw's signature BlackWash finish, not only bestowing it with a rough-and-rugged appeal but also adding an extra level of protection to the blade. The handles of the Launch 1 have been thoughtfully designed from durable anodized aluminium, offering a light weight complemented by a contour design for a perfect fit in the hand.
The knife's opening mechanism is a recessed push button that is flush with the handle's surface. This clever design serves as a safety feature, making unintentional deployment of the blade less likely. The Launch 1 comes with a reversible left/right pocketclip. For left-handed individuals, simply use the index finger instead of the thumb to operate the blade-release/lock button.
