Marcolmar Firearms MCM-LGRGRNR: MarColMar has manufactured these incredible CETME-L model rifles from original Spanish surplus parts with a new U.S. made receiver. This model also features a 1:7 twist cold-hammer-forged and nitrided barrel for incredible accuracy. This model also features new U.S. made furniture, and all components are finished with Battlefield Green Cerakote. These rifles are also optimized for US STANAG M-16/AR-15 magazines! Do not mistake this for a simple copy, as MarColMar has employed the finest materials and present-day manufacturing processes (like robotic welding) to produce a rifle even better than could be built in the '80s.
After WWII, the CETME design group was established in Spain and staffed by many former Mauser employees who brought their research and designs from Germany. This design group would later develop and adopt the CETME C, better known as the G3/HK91 in .308/7.61X51. Faced with the transition to the 5.56 in the early '70s and pressure to join NATO, Spain began to develop a 5.56 infantry rifle for its military. This development resulted in the last roller-locking rifle to be adopted by any military, and the first and only model to be designed explicitly for the .223/5.56 cartridge. The CETME L, unlike its German cousin, the HK33, was not a scaled-down version of the 7.62 receiver. This new design was thinner and had a smaller form factor making it more maneuverable and lighter. The CETME L served with Spanish troops between the '80s / '90s and was used heavily during Operation Desert Storm. The CETME L continues to operate to this day with reserve forces and select police units. Bottom line, if you are looking for one of the most well made roller lock delayed blowback rifles in the CETME L configuration, then you need to pick up one of these incredible rifles from MarColMar and see why we have fallen in love with them!
