Mauser Model 66S German Sniper Rifle with Zeiss Scope and Matching Base - .308 Win - Made in Germany - Excellent condition

The Model 66S sniper rifle, also know as the SP66, is a .308 Win chambered precision rifle built for the Italian Carabinieri (national military-police force) by Mauser Werke Oberndorf in Germany. These rifles have also been used by Israeli IDF and British SAS forces in their dedicated anti-terrorism taskforces. This rifle has a parkerized heavy tapered 24" barrel with 4" proprietary muzzle brake and an oversized trigger shoe. The walnut thumbhole stock is extremely customizable with adjustable length of pull and comb to provide the perfect support for the shooter. There is also a stippled palm swell to provide positive control of the rifle with the trigger hand. The rifle comes with a matching serialized heavy milled ratchet-lever detachable scope base with 30mm rings fitted specifically for the Zeiss DiaVari. ZA 1.5x6mm scope. This is the original factory scope for the rifle, and the Mauser logo is featured on the click adjustable elevation turret, and incudes a rubber eyecup. Full weight of the rifle, empty, with scope is 14.25 lbs. Internal 3 round magazine, chambered in .308 Winchester. The bolt rides in a carriage that slides in the receiver, allowing for a much shorter bolt throw and extremely smooth action. Excellent used condition, showing only slight handling marks in the parkerized finish.
