Romanian Cugir PSL-54 Rifle, 7.62x54R, Semi-Auto,10 Rd, Laminated Stock, Factory New Parts - Assembled By J.R.A.

The PSL rifle's primary purpose is to be used by a platoon level designated marksman to engage targets at ranges beyond the capabilities of the standard-issue AKM carbines. It is built around a stamped steel receiver similar to that of the RPK light machine gun, having a wider reinforced forward section enabling a strengthened, more substantial front trunnion. The PSL's operation is the same long-stroke piston action of the Kalashnikov family of weapons. Its appearance is similar to the Dragunov sniper rifle, but parts are not interchangeable between the two rifles. The rifle comes with 1-10 round mag. 

The PSL-54 features a 24.5" chrome-lined barrel and is chambered in 7.62x54R and features an integrated muzzle brake specifically designed for the rifle. The front trunnion is reinforced and the front of the receiver features RPK style reinforcement ridges allowing the rifle to adequately handle the power of the 7.62x54R cartridge. The PSL-54 rifle comes with laminated wood furniture with a thumbhole stock that has an integrated, non-adjustable cheek riser. There is a side rail for the optics that will accept the most common side rail mounts, and we have proper optics available as a custom option if desired. These are brand new rifles from the famous Cugir arsenal, and we are offering them at a fantastic price.

Note - Due to the recent pandemic and the worldwide factory closures and shipping disruptions that it caused, the Cugir factory in Romania that builds these rifles, had a greatly reduced production capacity and therefore were unable to deliver completed rifles as scheduled. They did, however, have the complete parts kits produced, individually packaged, and ready to ship. We aired a sample parts set to our friends at James River Armory to build and frankly they did a fantastic job. In fact, I would dare say that I like their completed rifle better than the factory one. The bluing is beautiful, the rivet work is immaculate, and the sights are precision aligned. Oh, and they shoot great too. Remember all parts are brand new on this rifle and are the same parts that Cugir would have used had they assembled the rifle there. As, such, the only difference is that this rifle was built here Stateside, and has the James River Armory logo under the receiver behind the mag well. Now I am not saying that the quality is better than the Cugir built guns because those have always functioned flawlessly for us. However, these are functioning flawlessly too and I have to say that I appreciate J.R.A's attention to the cosmetic finish and detail on these. They turned out gorgeous. As an added bonus each of these rifles will ship in a rifle case for maximum protection.  They are also fully warrantied by J.R.A. ... Enough said. 

About the scope represented below as a custom option. These optics will vary in manufacture and characteristic, but all are appropriate to the PSL rifle. All will be original Romanian LPS Type 4X24 magnification optics with throw lever mounts that lock onto the rail. The scopes are military surplus and will vary from scope to scope in regards to color and cosmetic condition. Some are the original grey color while others are more blue-black depending on the factory they were made in and their date of manufacture, but again, all are correct as rifle specific to the PSL. Some scopes were lighted reticles initially, and some were not. Still, even if they were initially a lighted reticle design, none have batteries nor have any had their electronic capabilities checked, so we don't guarantee any lighted reticle capabilities.

As such, please know again that even though you may receive an optic with a battery compartment, we do not make any guarantee as to lighted reticle working. In fact, we are selling these under the assumption that none of the lighted reticles will work. Regardless of that fact, all of the lenses are clear, and again, all of the windage and elevation turrets are complete and in working order, and the reticles are appropriate to the rifles. We guarantee them to work and function correctly as an optic, but we do not guarantee any lighted reticle capability. These scopes are a great find made even better by the price point. They are accurate military optics that are both functional and collectible. Perfect for any PSL, FPK, Dragunov, ROMAK-3 ... etc. with appropriate factory side rail. They fit our current PSL rifles perfectly.
