The 6974 model from Ruger, known as the American Predator rifle, is equipped with a one-piece, three-lug bolt. Its 70-degree throw provides plenty of clearance for scopes and makes use of a full diameter bolt body alongside dual cocking cams to make cycling from the shoulder a smooth process. A distinctive feature of this model is its Power Bedding - a pending patent integral bedding block system that effectively places the receiver and free-floats the barrel to enhance accuracy significantly.
The receiver of the American Predator model is outfitted with a factory-installed, one-piece aluminum scope rail, tang safety, and an adjustable Ruger Marksman trigger known for its crisp release. The cold hammer-forged barrel of this model is heavier and tapered, featuring threaded and ultra-precise rifling for maximum precision.
The rifle comes with an ergonomic, lightweight synthetic stock that ensures quick and easy handling. It successfully combines a traditional look with an upgraded forend contouring and grip serrations for a modern touch. The American Predator also guarantees minute-of-angle accuracy and includes a reliable rotary magazine that fits perfectly with the stock alongside sling swivel studs.
