Own a piece of Cold War history with this surplus French MAC 50 9mm handgun. Classified as a Curio and Relic, this military-issued sidearm carries the marks of decades of service, with finish wear, dings, and handling marks that tell its story. Despite the cosmetic wear, each pistol has been function-checked and is ready for range time or display. Featuring a 4.5-inch barrel, 9-round capacity, and polymer grips, the MAC 50 remains a reliable and historically significant firearm. This offering includes two magazines and an original surplus holster, making it a complete and collectible package for enthusiasts of European military arms. The MAC 50 is a historically rich sidearm rooted in French military tradition and Cold War service. Utilizing the proven Browning system similar to the FN GP 35, it features an integral barrel feed ramp and a single-action trigger. A unique safety mechanism allows the hammer to be safely lowered by engaging the slide-mounted safety and pressing the trigger, locking the firing pin in place. Based primarily on the Modèle 1935S, which MAC produced extensively, the MAC 50 also incorporates elements of the Modèle 1935A—the same design that influenced the renowned SIG P210. With its heritage spanning both early French innovations and international adoption, this pistol saw service with the French Armed Forces, Police Nationale, and military and police forces in countries like Algeria, Morocco, Ivory Coast, Libya, and the Central African Republic. More than just a surplus handgun, the MAC 50 is a true Curio and Relic—an emblem of post-war French engineering and global military history. These pistols were manufactured in Manufacture d'armes de Châtellerault (MAC). 221,900 were made until the factory was closed in 1963.
