PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. Beautiful Hex Receiver 1942 dated Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant Rifle - This rifle looks great inside and out with a beautiful very unique stock that has a grain pattern that reminds of a tiger strip. Stock is exceptionally nice with virtually no sign of scarring or even small dents or dings and again it is complimented by its unusual one-of-a-kind grain pattern. It is even more amazing in that I am sure that this is the original stock as it shows no signs of a refurb and even has a small yet still visible Sako cartouche stamping on the right-hand side of the buttstock. The bluing is equally nice with a really smooth blued/black finish on all metal parts. There is a small spot of rust on the cleaning rod that I have not taken the time to clean off but that is the only flaw I can find. This rifle features a B marked barrel which was probably number matched to the receiver and bolt at time of re-barreling. B Barreled Finnish M39 Mosin Nagant Rifles came into being after a contract was made with Belgium to provide barrels for M91's. Some of these barrels were shortened and modified to fit the Finnish M39 standards. All rifles with the signature "B" on the barrel are dated 1942. Another signature characteristic of some B Barreled M39's is that some have an unusual color, ranging from bronze/plum to deep plum instead of the usual blue/black coloring, on the portion of the barrel just forward of the receiver. This could have been caused by a few things, such as the metal content containing a high nickel percentage or the temperature of the bluing solution and metal preparation prior to finishing. The answer more than likely comes from a combination of all three theories. The rifles with barrels that contain this unique coloration ( which is commonly to in the M39 community as "Plum" ) are highly sought after and tend to bring a premium among collectors. All B Barreled M39's have barrels that were post war manufactured and generally speaking, in excellent condition and this one is no exception, the bore is mirror bright with strong crisp lands and grooves. There are believed to have only been between 9 and 10 thousand produced. The S/A marking on the barrel stands for Suomen Armeija which in English translate to Finnish Army. Since it was rebarreld with a B Barrel it is hard to tell which factory it was made at but it has a faint Sako stamp on the stock and I would assume it is either Sako or VKT(Valmet).  Anyway, this one was kept out of some inventory Classic had a number of years ago because it was so nice. Now, I'm letting it go. This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. This rifle is C&R Eligible. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold.
