Barnes Bullets 30171, initially designed for military usage, is a lead-free Varmint Grenade that provides unparalleled precision for reliable long-distance targeting. This unique ammunition boasts a hollow-cavity, flat-base design, with a core made from copper-tin powdered metal and encased in a gilding metal jacket.

The Varmint Grenade remains intact even at ultra-high velocities in fast twist barrels. Nevertheless, it exhibits a highly explosive core that shatters dramatically on impact, essentially atomizing ground squirrels and prairie dogs, even at extended distances. The characteristic of the Varmint Grenade permits it to expend its energy instantaneously, rarely exiting larger predators such as bobcats and coyotes, leaving the valuable fur virtually unscathed.
