Brutus' Description

Beretta Model 92S 9mm Semi-Auto Pistol with 1 Mag - The Overall condition for the pistols in this shipment is NRA Good /Very Good Used Surplus Condition.

What a deal. It is not often that you can find such a legendary firearm as such a great price.  We are told that these are Police trade ins from assorted Italian Law Enforcement Agencies. We are also told that they have been back to the Beretta facility for function testing. This is a new shipment for us that just arrived in mid August 2016.

The vast majority of these pistols are in NRA Surplus Good /Very Good Condition and that is the ones we will be selling here. As with previous shipments there are some pistols that fall below these standards and some that rise above. We have instructed our warehouse personnel to select only VG grade or VG+ for hand selects and the standard purchase ( non hand select ) should be no lesser grade than good. Any pistol with a condition falling below the "Good" standard, will be segregated and held to sell as a lower grade at a later date.

Again these are surplus pistols and as you can see from our video  they have been stored against each other during transit so at the very least you will expect storage marks. I would expect a certain degree of holster and carry wear on all the pistols with a greater degree on the ones that are average standard good condition. Mechanically I would expect all to be very functional and all of them should make very good carry / shooters.

Hey classic firearm fans I purchased 2 of the beretta 92s pistols. Just received today 2/19/15. They look good condition to me. I like some of the wear marks dates the pistol and gives it character. I hope to run a few rounds down range this weekend. Check out my video review. Thanks for looking. Buy one before they are gone. Check the price for a new beretta and you might buy 2. Thanks be careful out there

Quality firearm at an affordable price!
Review by Tennessee Tony on 2/18/2015
Quality
About a week after ordering, my FFL contacted me and used the words "very nice firearm" when describing the Beretta 92s that I had purchased from Classic Firearms. I was excited to put my eyes and my hands on it!
The first thing that caught my attention was the quality of craftsmanship that is rarely found in many handguns today. The bluing/coating was the only thing I noticed that had some holster wear which leads me to believe it was carried a considerable amount. The slide seemed to have very tight tolerances with little to no play. The trigger was a little stiff at first as though the gun had not been fired very much. The single 15 round magazine was in good condition and fit very well into the magwell.
My overall experience with Classic Firearms has been excellent. Their constant email updates kept me informed of when the item shipped, tracking numbers and when the item arrived at my FFL.
I will buy from them again and recommend them to my friends.

God Bless,
Tennessee Tony

Awesome guns, Runs smooth as New
Review by danny on 2/15/2015
Quality
Ordered two of these, did NOT pay the $20 hand pick, as it is for cosmetic only. Got them in hoping they would be perfect anyway.... They definitely function perfect. One had minimal wear, definitely used, but was obviously well taken care of. Second had some pitting on the front and rear of grip and some rust on slide. BOTH weapons functioned flawlessly and had an extremely smooth action. 99% or the wear was obviously from loading and unloading and using in a holster. Was obviously fired some, but from the wear, I figure both were fired very little. I ordered a couple of Hogue grips and trimmed around the magazine release to give my large hands a better fit, and my wife, who has small hands, said she liked the feel of the new grips also. Also picked up some surplus magazines for the M9 and used a dremmel to cut the hole for the magazine catch....... fairly easy modification on surplus magazines. I'm tempted to buy some more!!! Great product, do not hesitate to buy one of these pieces of History!!!

Glad I got mine before they were gone

I knew I was buying used turn in guns. So really no surprises. I did my research on the magazine release for the 92S which is on the left hand side heal of the frame. I received one gun in what I would call good condition and one with a magazine that had noticeable pitting and rust. Am I complaining? NO. I just picked up two fully functioning Beretta 92S pistols for the price of one 92FS. Since the sights and grips will be replaced and the guns refinished anyway, I could care less. Both guns pass the functions test and will be out to the range soon. Thank you Classic

So I bought this gun as a cheaper alternative to the 92fs.I like how it has history.Being used by an Italian police officer makes my day, knowing it was used in Europe made it all the better of a purchase.I received it,it was described well in the video(condition, functionality. etc.).Took it home and tore it apart to lube and inspect.I was blown away by this weapon.I blued some missing spots on the barrel and slide and it came out perfect.I will be back for more guns from classic firearms soon.
Beretta 92s

Nice handgun and another great purchase. No issues and the firearm itself looks great. The slide looks brand new but the lowe part loos like it saw heavy action but not in terrible condition. The only thing is the slide doesn't lock back after last round but from what I've read it's common in those mags. Once I get new ones if should be good but all in all not a big deal.
Great Value!

It's a great gun better than I expected. But this review is more about the employees at classic firearms. Every order is simple the people are very knowledgeable and friendly more than happy to help in anyway they can which also says a lot for the company. My dad always said a business is only as good as it's help thanks classic you came through for me again
Better than my Beretta 92 SF?
Review by Eric on 1/9/2017
Quality
I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I paid the extra money for the hand select option and I was not disappointed at all. I received a beautiful Italian made 92S with most of its blueing still in tact. There were some light scratches on the frame but hardly any holster wear at all. It leaves me to wonder if my gun was actually issued at all. Anyways, my only gripe is he long heavy trigger pull and the sights compared to my 92FS. Other than that, the 92S will accept my older 92 SF mags including the high cap mags. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase. I received the gun as advertised and with no surprises. This was my third purchase from Classic and I will continue to do business with them. They also have a great customer service team may I add. If you are a gun nut like I am, don't hesitate to pick this gun up and add to your collection.

Review by ALLEN on 1/8/2017

I ordered an example without hand select option on Tuesday afternoon and it was at my FFL Friday afternoon. The pistol shows honest wear and is very representative of the photo in the Classic Firearms ad. Appears to have been fired very little and is fine mechanically.

This is a good value for the money. The one thing I find odd is no proof marks or date codes unlike every other Italian made firearm I own. Also, on my example the importer's stamp on the side is a lot less conspicuous than photos on the web often indicate.

Just arrived and at first glance i thought it was a new pistol . Excellent finish and a smooth as silk action, no rust, no dings and in perfect working order. Bore looks 60% , bright and shiny . No better bargain anywhere. I will buy another next month just to keep on hand.
Outstanding gun for the price
Review by Ironsmyter on 1/2/2017
Quality
Purchased 2 of these Beretta's and paid the extra for hand picked. One showed just a little more external wear than the other, but overall very happy cosmetically. The internals look close to unfired if any at all, if either of them have seen use, it was very little. Took them to the range and they fired with no issues with several types of ammo. Very accurate and reliable. Purchased some basic aftermarket grips off eBay that really dressed the guns up. The 15 Rnd mags have been a challenge to find, especially at a reasonable price, but they're out there. The mag release doesn't take much to get used to at all. If you're thinking about purchasing one of these, you wont be disappointed, although this isn't a new gun, its well made and for the price you cant beat it.
Worthy of rebuilding!
Review by Michael on 1/1/2017
Quality
I have 2 sons who wanted their first hand gun for Christmas. I offered to rebuild historical guns but only my 40 year old agreed. My 31 year old wanted a modern gun he could put "neat things" on.
Bought the 92s and stripped it down, painted, custom grips and new springs. Total cost of rebuild $502! The same price as the Ruger American I bought for the younger one.
The Ruger is a fine weapon, accurate, easy to disassemble, but for some people, they don't bond with the gun. I bought mine as a 1 week old used gun at my club. We love it!
But when that 92s gets pulled out with Samurai Grips and polished slide, ever one wants a peek! It's a little bit harder to find parts or directions but new guns on the market have the same problems for a couple years. This piece is business! No two ways about it. So accurate, so durable, so dependable! Bought mine at the $319 price. No hand pick option, yet in surprisingly good condition! One of my best gun deals yet!
Great gun f the money.
Review by Mark on 12/30/2016

Received my gun in less than a week. Typical scuff from holster wear, looks like it was carried often and shot very little. The gun is solid, no rattles and the action is still smooth as butter. Bore is shiny with good lands and grooves. Grips were scuffed up the most, but I modified some Hogue grips for a 92FS and they look great!.

I recevied my 92s and moght i say perfect for being a used surplus weapon. i cleaned it up took it to the range and might i say his aim is spot on. only had 4 failure to extract but that could be anything. also only the 250th round the magazine didnt lock back. i was laughing about that but over all i am very happy for my 1st beretta 92. i am actually considing buying another one. great job classic

I am very happy with my purchase. Just got back from the range. Shot perfectly with no problems whatsoever. For the price it can't be beat.
I paid the extra 20 for hand select. It has some small chips on the handle and some minor holster wear around the front of the slide. Mechanically its flawless.
If your not familiar with the Beretta 92 do some research. You'll want one.

I bought one of these and paid the 20 bucks to get a "select" one. When I went to pick up my pistol, there was a gentleman there who said he was a 30 year veteran in the Italian police! He was vary familiar with the pistol and began to lament on its size and weight. I told him I bought it to add to my collection and thought it an interesting pistol. He went on to tell me, that those pistol are rarely fired. I asked why and he said, they just don't have enough places/ranges. For that reason, they only fire them every 5 or so years and then only some 10 or so shots! The pistol's barrel shows it. One thing I found was that the front of the barrel where the pistol was in the holster still has the lint from carrying. I had to smile when I saw it. The action on these is really smooth, to my touch they are smoother than the newer models. The slide is also very slick, like glass. Buy with confidence. Just don't expect a new pistol, they have been used and have character. It takes years to give these the look of a gun slingers pistol. That is what you get. Enjoy!

just revived my berettas, i ordered one hand pick and one regular. the hand picked is immaculate. maybe 6 little scratches throughout the pistol. magazine is practically new. regular one is okay. slide is different almost a two tone pistol obviously a different slide. but is more accurate than the hand picked. both flawless firing, put 350 through each. mags are cheap parts are cheap buy these firearms they are perfect for a shtf situation or back up guns.

92S Great Deal
Review by James on 10/21/2016
Quality
I had been debating for a while whether to buy a new Beretta 92FS, M9 or an older version of the 92. I finally decided that this deal from Classic Firearms for the 92S was too good to pass up. I also added the 17 round Pro-mag magazine as well. The order was processed quickly and I received it in just a few days. Classic has come through again with a quality used firearm. Some holster wear and a few scratches but it functions great. I had limited time to spend at the range so I only ran 50 rounds through it to get an initial feel. The first shots were a 3.5" inch group and the next 10 were a 1.5" group. (Blazer Brass 115g FMJ at 5 meters) I foresee having a lot of fun at the range in the future with the 92S. Great job Classic Firearms!
Excellent purchase! Very pleased!
Review by Bob on 10/21/2016

This is my first purchase with Classic and they made it a great experience. I bounced around to every website looking for a good surplus Beretta 92S. I have never bought a gun before that I did not look over and hold in my own hands first, so I was cautious and afraid. All my fears vanished when I opened the package at my FFL and the pistol was in great condition. My FFL, Precision Shooting looked it over and they remarked it was in great condition and they said Classic Firearms is a good company and they have other customers buying from Classic. Great experience and I will keep shopping at Classic Arms! Thank you very much. Bob Conner

This gun pretty much arrived as described. It was missing a grip screw. I have a few extras on hand. I'll have to get used to the European mag release and the low sights, but this gun hasn't as a single mechanical failure after about 200 rounds. It's fun to shoot and easy to break down and clean.

Just picked up my Beretta today and all I can say the hand pick is worth it. The bluing on the pistol I would say is 99% just some normal wear around the beavertail and at bottom of back strap area. I want to say thanks to William who took my order on the phone now I will look for couple mags clean it real good but as of right now thanks CLASSIC.

If you have been considering 1 of these Berettas, just go ahead and buy it.... You won't be sorry! I got mine in great time and awesome condition. Shoots well and it is really hard to beat "that Beretta feel". 45 ACP will always be #1 in my heart (and holster), but I sure do like this handgun !! Thanks Classic, you all are a Class Act all the way !!

Picked my second Beretta and even without hand select I think it is better than my first one that was hand select. The pistol is in excellent condition with bluing wear on the slide that actually makes it look very nice. I had planned to restore this one but considering the condition I will have to buy another that is in lesser condition to make it worthwhile. Classic Firearms grading system is trustworthy and honest and also conservative.

Beretta 92s Italian Police Trade-in
Review by Ryan on 9/25/2016
Quality
I purchased one of these 92s as I have always wanted a Beretta 92, but found it hard to spend roughly $600 for one. I have nothing but positive things to say about my order experience, i placed the order on a Sunday, the firearm was packed and shipped on Monday and arrived on Wednesday, fast! I picked it up from the local FFL and found it was exactly what i envisioned, it was just as the description read, minor finish wear from holstering, but no abuse. The action on this pistol is smooth as silk, I believe the original barrel was worn out, as the serial number on the barrel doesn't match the receiver, rifling looks good/sharp. I took it to the range this past weekend and fired 150-200 rounds through it, not a single issue, by far one of the smoothest 9mm I have shot, far more accurate than I can shoot it, on the front strap still has the last name of the officer that it was assigned to, I will leave it on, as it gives it character. I am well pleased with this purchase, I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a nice 9mm with history. Thanks again Classic!

My Beretta 92S was ordered with hand picked $20.00 extra charge. I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. It arrived a few days later and I picked it up at my FFL. I rushed home and was extremly happy with my pistol. Some handling marks and slight holster wear on edges but other than that beautiful. Great lands and groves, and bluing was amazing! Not like the parkerized type finish on newer models. Smooth as butter tight action. Happy and a great deal, get into a 92S for half $ of new one. This pistol has great history, quality and bluing that you cant find anymore. Pull the trigger on this deal you wont be dissapointed.

Nice gun; a little more wear on the finish than I expected, but I plan to refinish it anyway - as soon as I can find the proper screwdriver to remove the hand grips.

Delivery was quick. The pistol is in much better shape than I expected. Shoots fine but the sights are really, really basic! Fired about 100 rounds without cleaning it first, that's how clean it was! Not quite as accurate as my CZ75, but then again, I didn't install $140 sights for the Beretta either!
Classic is asking a rather high price for a mil-surp and the product is worth every penny and more! You'll understand if you're lucky enough to get one!

Great gun really clean mine looked fairly new bore and gun . It had I little wear but not beat up .mags are easy to find at gun shows (I live in Florida ) factory and aftermarket I even saw 20rd mags that would work. now for starters it did only come in bubble-wrap in a usps box which I thought was kinda weird. but looked great. so took it home and cleaned it(even though it didn't relay need it) but man the slide on this thing is butter baby! I may buy another now. but still shoots great. never fails, hell its a Beretta! all made in Italy! good stuff. and ill tell ya holding this gun feels like your holding a gun. not a half composite one. but finding mags can be tricky since the release is on the bottom. but anybody with a dremil can notch that out for ya. new ones still fit but need the hole at the bottom. but as always great service. quick ordered it over a holiday weekend an still got it that same week!

I bought two of these and they are not at the NRA good/very good condition as listed. The beaver tail on one of them is completely worn down to bare metal with bad scratches and the bottom and back are the same. I now have to pay someone to fix in order to keep the gun from rusting. I have bought many guns from Classic over the years and this is the 1st time they have disappointed me. I would like to continue buying but have to think about it.

This was my first surplus purchase from Classic and I have to say I am very happy with my decision to pull the trigger on the 92S. The Beretta has very light holster marks and that is it, better condition than a pawn shop 92fs by far. The grips were in great shape and it had what looked like a new barrel, so all in a great buy.

I bought one of these and as a long time collector of cool firearms I am very surprised at what showed up at the FFL. Excellent, functional and in great shape.
I did pay the $20 for hand select it is likely worth it. Buy a few restore one, shoot several. Classic firearms grading system is very honest and accurate based on this and other purchases.

This is my second 92s purchased from classic firearms. This one was also a hand select and did not arrive in a box like the previous order. That said the quality of the pistol was top notch with only minor bluing wear. There was an issue with a couple of springs one of the trigger and the other in the hammer but my guns smith replace them for $16. I also had the pistol cerakoted and it came out perfectly. Would highly recommend.

I have had one of these Italian police trade-in 92S pistols for a bit over a year now. It is exactly what you'd hope for...a sexy, Italian Pietro Beretta 92. So what if the mag release is down by the mag well? It's amazing that one can get one of these beauties at this price. All mechanics are as smooth as butter. This has become one of my favorites.

I bought one of these Italian Police turn ins the last time these were for sale. What a steal. Beautiful gun, light holster wear. BUTTER smooth action. I shoot this gun REALLY well. Maybe it's the fit, the size or the weight but it is a great shooter. Do not hesitate to snap one up if you have ever wanted a 92.

Buy one NOW! Don't even hesitate or you will be kicking yourself next week.

BTW Genuine Beretta 92 magazines p/n C86021 from Midwayusa
fit these early models with the mag release at the bottom.

My pistol had very sharp checkering on the grips, most likely a security officers service weapon, slight holster wear as expected, no rust, barrel very clean and sharp rifling.

This is one sweet Beretta.

Dear Ben; without a doubt you and your team are a five star operation. I recently purchased a Beretta 92s. I held my breath and took a chance. Well I am hear to tell you the pistol was at least a four star firearm. minamum holster wear and all the controls worked just fine. It was in such good shape I wonder if it was issued to the pope?? Just a little humor. Your prices are in line with most of thje others discount sellers. What distinguishes you is your attention to detail, service and honesty, and belief in the lord. Gets 5 stars cause the description of good to very good is dead on accurate. This is from the august 2016 batch for reference on which batch it came from.

Its not a perfect unused pistol, but i did the handpick and usually i dont get so lucky. This time i got a very good surplus pick. The good...bluing on slide and barrel is very good. Frame is a black coated aluminum and shows moderate wear on the rails and lanyard back side etc.....but plenty of life left in it. Trigger is decent. Decock works perfectly. Slide is tight to the frame and barrel has no wiggle. Very little rust on barrel underside, no pitting, for surplus very good condition.

The not so good....magazine has a rusted floorplate and spring is weak, but still works. This was the dirtiest surplus ive ever gotten and ive bought many. No grease or oil, just carbon fouling and grime and dirt and years of it. Took hours to clean up. Worth the effort as it cleaned up nicely. Thanks classic another nice surplus for the collection.

This is the second Beretta 92s that I have purchased from classic firearms. This one functions flawlessly and overall condition is good. The bluing is 80 to 90% and there are only a few scratches. I am having the pistol cerakoted as I did with my first beretta and I expect it to look great when it's complete. I expect it to be a fine shooter and I'm grateful is one on sale again. Thanks!

I have to admit that I was initially disappointed when I first opened the box since I paid for hand select and there were dings on the side and the tail of the pistol. Then I started looking it over and the barrel was brand new and although there was some cosmetic damage, internals were in perfect shape and the dings didn't have any rust. My opinion just went from three stats to four. Then I cycled the slide a few times and dry fired it and HOLY COW!! Double action pull isn't bad at all, little over travel, reset clean and crisp, single action pull was absolutely amazing!! Opinion just went to 4.5 stars. I took it out shooting and it fed very cleanly and cycled everything perfect! Very accurate despite the tough to pick up sights, but can get used to that. Very comfortable in my XXL hands. I've gotten rid of guns before and taken losses on trades and sales when they don't perform because I don't mess with stuff that doesn't work like it should, this is not in that category. I don't plan to ever get rid of this one. Great buy!
Great Gun For The Money

Had a little more wear than I expected on the slide but the bore looks good and it's a great shooter. Took it to the range with a former police officer friend and he thought it handled well and was an excellent value. He was disappointed when I told his Classic was sold out at the moment. I like police and military grade stuff so this matched what I was looking for as far as a patrol/combat hi-capacity 9mm handgun goes. Probably a little too big to conceal carry. This isn't a gun you hide it's a pistol you got to war with.

I am very pleased with this purchase. Done several transactions with Classic and they have been great every time. Thanks again, guys!

Fires just fine. Came to me extremely dirty. Exterior was in rough condition for hand select as the hammer was cracked on inspection. Little pitting. Rifling was very nice. Not sure if I would have gotten much better had I not paid for hand select. Getting it cerakoted.
Good Deal. Pay the extra $20 for the hand picked. I didn't and I wish I did.

Overall a great deal on a fantastic weapon. Looking back I should have paid the extra $20 for the hand picked option. I was thinking that it wouldn't make that much of a difference since it was a used pistol anyways. Not thinking that these things have been sitting in storage for a long long time. One side of mine had some rust and pitting issues. Got it Cerakoted and it looks better... and won't rust again, but you can still see some of the pitting. I would still purchase this from Classic Firearms. Just don't be a cheapskate like me. Pay the extra dough for a better looking piece.

Got this pistol a while back, and man am I pleased with this firearm. Smooth trigger, solid and reliable action, and that classic look that just cant be beat. Easily my favorite pistol to shoot in my collection, especially since the ammo is abundant and cheap. Has yet to jam or otherwise fail me once. It does have some wear on it from holster use, but that is purely aesthetic and easy to fix. Easily the best value for this type of firearm on the market.
Good for the price

This is a good deal on a classic pistol. The condition of my pistol was what I would call acceptable seeing that this was a police turn-in. Mine had apparently been dropped at some point as it had the tell-tale signs of an asphalt impact (I did not pay for hand select) and some surface rust but no pitting. Inside the pistol was in new condidton. I had no expectations of this pistol being in great external shape- I simply paid my money and took my chances and am happy with the result.
After 200 rounds there was not a single malfunction. Single action trigger pull is much better than my new production M9; this pistol is also noticeably better made than my M9.
My only complaints are that the sight picture is downright horrible. And even adjusting for this, the pistol shoots 2 feet low at 25 yards. And this was with good ammuntion not cheap or steel case.
All in all I am happy with the pistol- I didn't buy it for a carry gun or even a woods gun- it's simply a great conversation peice and will see a lot of range time and plinking.

Review by Daniel on 6/24/2015

I paid for hand select. And let me say there is some holster wear but it's very minimal. No major scratches and not significant bluing loss. Serial number of barrel and frame do not match so I know it was inspected and probably replaced by factory. Sights are minimal and wore a little from holster use. The reason I'm torn is because the top of the slide has a lot (in my opinion) of surface rust. I know it's a 30 year old gun I Guess I just expected more from from hand select. Maybe I'm too picky, but I would have thought hand select for cosmetics the first thing they would look for was rust( I do understand that there are no guarantees so I'm not mad at the guys from classic just hoped for more) if it wasn't a "no guarantee" I would have seriously considered refusing the transfer and asking for a different one
All in all seems solid and tight, will update more after firing
Just want to reiterate NOT mad at the guys from classic and would do business again but not entirely satisfied with this purchase

This is my second order from CF and was not disappointed. I carried a Beretta as an Air Force cop so I wanted to have one of my own. Although this is an older model than the one whose barrel I wore out, I am definitely not disappointed. This gun is in awesome shape. It looks like the only time it was used was one the officer went to the range to (re)qualify. I was like a kid at Christmas when I inspected it. It actually likes like I can take it to the range and start shooting. Thanks again for the great service CF...you've got a long-term customer!

Ordered one on the 13th, shipped the 18th, arrived the 20th. There was some light surface rust and of course its a used firearm so lots of little nicks and dings. Not alot of wear to the finish. I was expecting alot less quality then I received. Only had a few minutes to look it over and a quick field strip. I let my ccp expire last year, Ill have to wait till next wed to break it down totaly. Not expecting any problems. First time buying from classic, would not hesitate to order from them again. Just a heads up if you live in Wa state you will pay tax on the amount you paid when you pay the transfer fee at your ffl. Did not pay for hand select. The Beretta 92S is a very nice weapon, it over all holds up to the standard for current models. Even though it has small differences like the mag release location, it shoots and works well. After about 400 rounds it has only had 2 failures to feed and both were from me not seating the mag fully. The price point is also fantastic. The only draw backs are those that come with the fact that they are used police firearms. There is obvious holster wear, the bluing is mostly gone, and the sights are a little worn down. However, these don't really harm the fantastic weapon all that much. With the price that it is, I would say it's a solid addition to any collection.

Ordered the hand select 92S. Though there was a slight delay at the warehouse due to high volume of orders, I guess I'm not the only one taking advantage of the great deals at CF, they stepped up to the plate and upgraded me to Priority 2 day shipping without me having to complain. Pistol is in better than NRA good condition. Other than a little holster wear and two scratches on frame, wiped down with alcohol and touched up with sharpie, the fit and finish is great. Was able to buy extra Beretta made mags, with Euro release cutouts, from Midway. Disassembled, inspected and reassembled before taking to range. It ate a box of inexpensive Blazer without a stutter and performed flawlessly. I am very pleased with my purchase and would not hesitate to buy from Classic Firearms again.

Ok here is my review. I ordered my first 92s on March 17th 2015. It was had select. Got it about 7-8 days later. It looked very good with the exception of some serious dings on the right side pistol grip. Shot about 50 rounds and it worked great. No complaints what so ever on this one. Exactly as advertised for hand select.

I ordered another 92s on April 11th. Not hand select. Have not run any rounds through it yet. If I am not mistaken even the non-hand select should be expected to have 60% bluing? Well mine did not. The barrel was pretty much 0% with serious rust marks that looked like there was an attempt to sand them off. The slide was just slightly better, maybe 10% bluing. The strange thing was that the receiver was in great condition, about the same as the hand select and the numbers matched. Anyway, love the hand select but a bit disappointed in the condition of the non-hand select I received. Hopefully she will run well.

Hand select 4.5 stars. Non-hand select 2 stars.

Yes I paid the extra for hand select, but what I received was well worth the $20 bucks. I just recieved the second purchase, of two, "Beretta Turn-Ins". Both times I bought these guns, I opted for the $20 best of ten. I am glad I did. This is the nicest "average condition" gun purchase I think I will ever make.
The gun has practically no blemishes and looks/seems unfired. There is nearly 100% bluing and the frame has just a few tiny bumps on the grips and high-points at the handle. At the price these are going for, you can't beat the value. I just wish I could afford a few more, I would give my adult children each one as a gift.

The 92S I received from the First batch was absolutely beautiful, deep dark blue, hardly any holster wear, with only scratches by the lanyard loop. I was expecting at least the same from the Second batch 92S due to the way they were protrayed in ad, but had considerable more holster wear, much blue wear on backstrap, and some light rusting to steel wool polish off. Both paid select fee. Whatever....a little disappointed with the second order, but both still great guns. And would do again.

I just ordered the second of two 92S Italian Police Turn-Ins. This gun will serve as a replacement for the first one. The original gun came-in in excellent condition (by my rating system for a 36 year old used gun). It has already received a Burris FF3 dot scope, a pair of Pachmyer grips, and a new set of internal reduced power springs. It is NOW a dedicated competition gun for "plate matches" where two competitors clean a plate-rack...drag racinging each other. The Beretta shoots flat, with minimal muzzle-flip, (kinda like the $3500 race-guns that I regularly beat).
I have no regrets, buying these Berettas, Period.

Following up my initial review of my first Beretta 92s, I received my second one from Classic Firearms a few days ago. Again I paid for the hand select option and am very pleased with the results. The second pistol shows slightly more wear than my first, notably the rifling in the barrel although sharp, has quite a bit of frosting on the surface. A few soaks of CLP has already improved it however. The action and trigger of the pistol is once again phenomenal for such an old gun. I am very pleased with the pair of Beretta 92s pistols from Classic Firearms and would highly encourage anyone thinking of purchasing to grab at least one soon before they run out.

The gun was a little more "surplus" looking than I would have liked, but I dont blame CF for that, thats the game you play when you buy surplus. The gun was very accurate and ran perfect even with wolf ammo. The supplied magazine ran fine and I found out that current production Beretta factory 15 round mags fit perfect and run fine too, both mag types locked the slide back upon empty. Overall IM happy with this purchase and would do it again.

I should give it three stars for looks. Surface rust on the right side of the slide. Finish scraped off on the front of the grip. When I placed the order they were rated very good to excellent. And that is what the invoice said that I ordered. On the day they shipped my order they downgraded the pistols to NRA good with no reduction in price. I had read the earlier reviews and have seen several of these at gun shows so I expected a better looking pistol. Paid for hand select also. However after cleaning it up and taking it to the range I really like this pistol. It works perfect so far. It makes a great companion piece to my 92FS and uses the same magazines.

I cannot believe what a deal Classic F.A is offering here. I did my homework and reviewed a few sources and felt confident that I would get a mechanically sound minimal aesthetically worn Beretta 92S. I chose that hand select option. When the FFL fairy dropped off my box at my local gun range I was nothing short of impressed. I ran 250 rounds flat out with no hang ups. The only minor issue was the front sight is a little hard to picl up but a dab of nail polish and it's fixed.

I purchased a Beretta Model 92S from Classic Firearms. This gun was not my first purchase from Classic and not my first purchase of a used handgun. The advertised condition was indicated as NRA Surplus "Good". The pistol had minor/moderate holster wear and definitely matched the advertised condition. I field stripped and cleaned the pistol on receipt, as is my usual tact and I checked it's function prior to going to the range. I replaced the recoil spring with a factory specified part. I put one box of Federal Range and one box of reloads, both 124 grains through the pistol with no malfunctions. The accuracy of the pistol is in question, at both 7 and 25 yards. I am going to recrown the barrel and proof the pistol again. I believe that I will probably have to install a new factory barrel. If I need to replace the barrel, the value of my purchase is still good and ahead of the curve.

Bought 2 of these, both hand select, and they are in pretty decent shape. Mechanically they are both like new. One has very minimal finish wear, the other quite a bit. The worst is still in better shape than the M9 I carried in a combat zone, so not bad at all for the money. The rear sight on one was cracked, but usable. Both shoot well and eat every brand of ammo we've fed them with ZERO failures. If you want a Beretta and don't mind some holster wear, you can't go wrong with these. I have always been a huge fan of the Beretta 92 pistols and took this opportunity to purchase the classic Beretta 92s. I was able to pick up the pistol today and was very pleased with the condition (I did pay $20 for the hand select). Minor wear underneath the slide and minimal holster wear but to me that just adds to the unique qualities of this gun. As others have stated the gun did come chock full of grease which is easily cleaned (it is nothing like cosmoline). After thoroughly cleaning the pistol, I function checked it and it works flawlessly. The slide and trigger are almost as smooth as my newer manufacture M9. The transaction process with Classic Firearms was very smooth and painless. I am currently awaiting my second Beretta 92s and highly recommend purchasing them from this company.

So I finally was able to shoot my Beretta 92s, I put about 200 round through it yesterday at the range without any problems. It's accurate as well, the Beretta 92s has a bit of holster wear but I give it a 9 out of 10; ten being in great condidtion. This gun also grabs attention and when they ask at what price I bought it at blown away. Overall it was well worth the money. And I didn't pay the

Another Great Purchase From Classic

Fine looking surplus pistol in very good condition. I think I might have got my hopes up too much from reading some of the reviews. I did pay for the hand select, and I have no doubt I got the best of those chosen in the hand select process. However, there was very, very minor rust on the slide. A little steel wool took care of it for the most part. There are probably some better than mine and many a lot worse. The bore is filthy. Still working on it. Overall, it is a wonderful gun and is smooth and tight. As usual, Classic was great throughout.

Got my 92S and took it straight to the range. Functioned perfectly and was dead-on accurate. I paid extra for the hand pick. The condition was exactly as described, with only a little bit of holster wear at the front of the slide. The barrel was not numbers matching to the gun and looked brand new. Wondering if some of these guns got new barrels/locking block assemblies when they went back to the factory for inspection. Very happy with my purchase.

This is my first purchase from Classic arms and I am very pleased. The pistol is in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. There is very little ware on the pistol. Just along the edges from carrying as you would expect for a police weapon. The serial numbers match and it appears to have been fired very little. I did pay the hand select fee and would say it was well worth the $20. I would gladly purchase from Classic again.
I need two more!

I bought two of this and did pay for the hand select. It was worthy, every penny!

The guns came to me cleaned and oiled, I did clean and oil them again, just to be sure. I could tell that both guns were used, a lot, but they were mechanically sound with neither corrosion nor excessive mechanical wearing. The barrel was clean, in excellent shape, like the rest of the guns/magazines. The gun was tight, everything fit properly.

Once I was satisfied on my workbench I bought a couple of extra magazines from Beretta and headed to the range with my son. we did ran 150 rounds thru each gun and we had neither FTF nor FTE. At 25 ft I was able to hit the bull eyes several time, sadly not as many as my son so the lunch was on me.

Bottom line, if you want a solid full frame 9 mm buy at least one of this. You will NOT find a deal like this anywhere else. I do not need another one of this but as soon as I save the money if they are still available I will get another one.

Do not buy these guns. If you do I may not be able to buy another ! Seriously though, BUY THIS GUN!!!
You will not regret it but you will if you don't get one before Classic runs out. This pistol is exactly what I was hoping for, a truly "CLASSIC" gun.
I unfortunately have not had a chance to shoot it yet as I just got her yesterday & it has been raining like crazy where I'm at. Will leave another upon firing.
Shipping was a little slow due to heavy volume but I was told over the phone about this. It took around 10 to 12 days from order to receipt but can't hold that against Classic. When you have the quality firearms, low prices & great reputation like Classic does, people tend to but more from you which causes a backlog.
I am a purchaser in the distribution/ shipping business so I understand how it works, it's not as easy as some may think. Just be patient! It is worth the wait. Trust me!!! This pistol looks like it has hardly ever fired a round. Cosmetically; shows light holster wear and a couple very light surface scratches, but all n all I am extremely happy. Now my dad wants one!
Any discount for referral guys? Hehehe
I will certainly buy from again.

I ordered two of the Beretta 92s and paid the 20 dollar for the hand select on both. What I got was one looked liked it was a display model and the other had just a tinny wear that u had to have glasses to see it. If you look at all the videos on YouTube on the right side of the gun just above the trigger there will be wear from the trigger being pulled and the bluing will have wear there, The one I got looked new. The other one had just a little wear but the bluing was still there. Both guns look better than new ones to me because the are a piece of history and I like them. I'll be ordering more guns from them in the future....

After perusing over the listing, I decided to phone my order in. This particular pistol holds a special place in my book. As a boy, I had the fortune of being sent to Italy every summer to stay with my relatives. I remember this particular model the 92sb as having been carried by both the Polizia di Stato and Carabinieri. Having relatives in the Italian Polizia, seeing this 30-40 years later, brings back memories. Having served in both the US military as well as various Police agencies here in the US, I've had my share of time spent with the M9 as well as 92fs.
I was amazed when I picked up my 92sb from Classic Firearms from my FFL as it looked almost brand new! All the stampings in the gun were correct, and even the box had labeling in Italian. This 92sb only needed the lightest of cleanings. Good solid feel to it and nicely tight. Minor differences from its younger siblings the M9 and 92fs, and to be honest, I'm liking the handling much better. Trigger feels really goofing this one. Only difference which takes some getting used to is the mag release, but no big deal.
Classic Firearms knocked this one out of the park!!
Where are you going to find a 30-40 year old piece of Italian law enforcement history in a pistol which looks and functions as new as any late model Beretta 92 series you find around the gun shops here..... and for roughly half the price!!!!! Yes, of course I opted for the hand select and the mine is pristine! Worth every penny. Great service and great products once again from Classic Firearms. Outstanding!!!!

Underneath all the grime and muck was a nice looking piece of Italian steel and aluminum. Some finish wear and a bit of rust under the grips (on the mag catch), but overall well worth the asking price. Also, mine was much newer (2005) than expected and had the more ergonomic safety lever.

The time between ordering and it actually shipping was a bit long, but understandable given the weather.
A Stinker Slipped out BUT the No. 1 Internet Company Rose to the Occasion

Ordered my second one on 2/11 and received it on 2/20. Delay was due to massive ice storm that hit Monroe/Charlotte and the rest of the Eastern seaboard.. Went to FFL to pick up and took quick look and it looked OK and was covered in oil which is usually ok.

I am totally responsible to carefully inspect the firearm and not to accept it if it is not up to snuff.

When I got home wiped it down and was preparing to clean it, I noticed a lot of rust under the oil and heavy pitting from the back sight forward to the slide opening. Internally the gun was absolutely mint, mint, mint.
Hmmm, on the exterior -not good.

Sent an email with pictures and requested an RMA for a replacement. I immediately received an RMA and an apology and returned it on 2/25, a Wednesday, and received the replacement on the following Wednesday 3/4.

What did I get? If I had not known it was used --it looked new. 95% ++ bluing..Tiny tiny slide wear, pristine internally with a super bright shiny barrel that looked like it had not been fired.
I was a little surprised at the quickness and ease of the entire process but I should not have been, as I was dealing with the NO.1 Internet firearms dealer.

I had to pay return shipping on the one I returned and had to pay the FFL again. Am I upset about that? No==because it was my total responsibility to carefully inspect the firearm BEFORE I accepted it the first time.

Hats off to Gabriel and the entire Classic organization!!

It's easy to be great when everything is perfect but not so easy to be great when there is a problem.

Classic came through with flying colors and I can't wait to get he Romanian Tokarev pistol and ammo that I ordered last week!

Great deal for a police/military grade pistol

I recently took my 92S out for a spin; 100 rounds down range flawless, to include both use of the original magazine and newer Beretta manufacture 92 mags purchased from MidwayUSA.

Give the weapon a good cleaning before use. It comes very oily and the bore on mine was filthy. Mechanically the weapon is very sound, and I had matching serial numbers on all parts. Rifling is intact.

Cosmetically, there is some slight pitting on the slide, some faded bluing and holster wear. Its in the condition an infrequently fired, regularly holstered and carried service pistol that was in use for many years.

Don't expect this to be like your shiny new Sig or Glock, but if you are on a budget and need a solid police/military grade pistol at a reasonable price, and don't want to go down the path of the Warsaw Pact/East Block variants, you can't go wrong.

Just received the Beretta. The shipping process was OK but wish it was a bit faster. Delayed by your surge of sales I guess. I paid extra for a "handpicked" pistol. I was expecting a bit better quality than I actually received. This one had several scratches on the grips. The barrel and slide also had different serial numbers. Apparently the importer-exporter was piecing these guns together. The barrel itself looks good. If the numbers had matched it would of added a bit more value IMHO.

I ordered this pistol after much research and holding the Beretta 92FS. I didn't want to put down the $600+ on an FS so I ordered this one with the $20 hand select. In about a week it arrived at my FFL and I couldn't have been more pleased. The pistol and magazine are in a 9 out of 10 condition. Only light holster wear around the front barrel and the rest of the finish is glossy black. Grips were in equal condition also. Internally the gun looks very lightly used with a perfect bore on the non matching numbered part. I shot it the next afternoon and it feels solid and very accurate; even with the low profile sights. The slide action is perfect with a beautiful feel and sound. It's a lot of quality gun for the money, you can't go wrong with this purchase, just pay the extra $20 for hand select. I will post a video when I get back in town; can't wait to shoot it again.
Unique Beretta at an exellent price!

I picked up my Beretta 92s from the FFL today, they let me open the box, my first impression was, WOW! what a unique Beretta at such a great price!
It took about a week to arrive at my FFL (I also paid $20 for the hand select, was well worth it! I received a pistol in excellent condition).
So here is my review and thoughts on the Italian model Beretta 92s that I received.

Pros: Italian model 92s (Unique), received one in excellent condition, came with original Italian Beretta magazine, price Paid $336 with hand select and shipping, all matching serial numbers, came in a Beretta manufacture box confirming they were sent to Beretta or testing in Italy prior to being exported.

Cons: Some minimal holster wear (but I like it shows some character and history behind this great pistol), Shipping took about a week but when I called about the delay I was told it was due to high order volume. Not much to complain about.

I am very pleased with the product I received!, I'm regretting not ordering two.

Thanks Classic for the great product! I will definitely be doing business with you guys again!

Glad I saw the ad for this surplus pistol. Always wanted a Beretta 9mm and this was a great buy. I got the hand select and the pistol I received was first rate with only a little holster wear. Serial numbers matched and the barrel and action looked like it hadn't been fired much at all. The mag was in great shape and drops right out when you hit the release. Shoots great, no jams on any ammo I feed it. Good reliable pistol and not for a lot of money. It wasn't that long ago that this was one of the best 9mm's you could buy and I think it still is a great design. The workmanship on this pistol is excellent and a credit to Beretta. Pistol shot point of aim and is very accurate. Action is smooth and recoil is light even with hot defensive rounds. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for my carry pistol. It is strong, will take abuse, and it will last a long time. Only drawback is the mag release on the butt of the gun but I've had no problem finding extra mags for this pistol. Just look for the cutout at the bottom edge of the mag when scoping the gun shows and you will find reasonably priced mags.

Purchased this item with the $20 hand select and was sent a pitted gun. I emailed Classic, and they helped me return it and had a shinier one to me in about a week, and paid shipping both ways. Great customer service as always!
The bore was pristine, and beside some holster wear the gun is as well.
The sights are a bit hard to see, and the magazine had some cosmetic pitting, but functionally the gun is impeccable. After a trip to the range, I can honestly say that this gun has the best trigger out all the other pistols i own.

I just got my 92S today, and folks, I'm here to tell you that it is a beautiful piece. I did pay for hand select, and in my opinion, worth every penny. I broke it down, cleaned it up, and while not a new gun obviously, it is VERY nice. I can't wait to get it to the range this week. Bore looks like new, and very minimal wear on the outside. Grips look almost new, and the action runs through like butter. I have no doubt it will be one of my favorite pistols to shoot. The availability of these guns come and go, and my advice is to not waste time and get one NOW. I'm happier than a pig in deep mud!

Received mine about 10 days after ordering. Paid for handpick upgrade. Weapon condition was essentially unfired - 95%+ finish (just a tiny amount of wear at the front and rear of the slide) 100% mechanicals (no slide wear, frame wear, etc.) The rails and barrel are free of any marks or blemishes. The hard plastic grips are pretty badly scratched on both sides (I'm guessing this is holster wear?)

Weapon performed flawlessly through 100 test rounds using both the provided mag and a second, Beretta OEM 15-rounder I ordered from Midway USA.

Accuracy was not quite up to par with some of my other handguns but I put the blame for that on the trigger, which is similar to other 92FS/M9s I have fired in the past. The single-action trigger pull is fairly light but long, creep-y and does not break clean. I suspect that after practicing some with this type of trigger, the gun is mechanically capable of producing 'one big hole' groups at 10 yards, even with the old-school military sights.

Now I am questing for replacement grips. I may eventually have to order a set of 92FS grips and dremel out the area for the mag release as no one seems to make aftermarket 92S grips.

All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase. If anything, the weapon was in substantially better condition than I expected.

Another flawless transaction with Classic Firearms.
I bought this weapon to put in my truck and was really happy with its condition. I paid for best of 10. The weapon has normal holster wear, and a few battle scars which adds character. As far as function it is flawless, all operates as should. Barrel is shiny with nice rifling. Weapon is tight and I should get many more years of flawless service. The only thing that could make this deal any sweeter would be if it came with an extra magazine.

Got my beretta 92s at the hardware store (local ffl). Looked rough coming out of the box, but they were listed as "very good surplus condition" which is fair and accurate. Lots of holster wear and the bluing is gone in a few places, but that's where the bad ends :)
The action is smooth on it, and you can tell holding it that it's a well made gun. I'd expect nothing less out of beretta. It's clean, and doesn't seem to have been fired much at all. If I could afford it, I would've bought 2. Best gun available for the price, besides maybe a mosin nagant (buy one while you can).
Thanks again classic, love my new/used beretta as well as my wasr ak-47! Only reason for 4 stars is that I bought one of the recommended holsters off of cf and it was way too short for a beretta (law enforcement grade 13$ holster). But that's no big deal, I'll pass it on to a buddy.

Put a Pachmayr Tactical Grip Glove for Beretta 92F/FS on this Beretta 92S. Installation was easy and took about 2 minutes. Well, I added the hand select, and the pistol is beautiful, bluing wear is minimal. The magazine was a little rough, but replaceable. The handgun was cleaned, and well oiled, in great shape. I can envision the desk drawer in Venice this pistol sat in until it's retirement. Only shot when it was time to re-qualify with the pistol.....otherwise sitting peacefully In a soft Italian leather holster on the immigration officer's desk maybe next to a small cup of espresso as the gondolier sings through the window....ahhh Venice. As mentioned by the previous poster, shipping was not blazing fast, took approximately 7 days. That said, the quality of the pistol shipped was excellent and worth every penny, in my view. I did pay for the best of 10. I ran 100 rounds through it (115 FMJ Magtech) and found it very smooth shooting and accurate. The S model sights, although less prominent than those on current 92FS models do not seem to harm its ability to shoot well at all, to me at least. If you like finely machined pistols, I don't believe you will be disappointed. It is a beautiful pistol. I primarily wanted to alert buyers that if you get your pistol, look at the barrel and are disappointed (as one previous reviewer related, and I was somewhat, momentarily) at getting what appeared to be a "mismatched" gun because the serial number does not match the receiver, make sure to look closer and specifically UNDER the printed dot style engraved serial number which you first see on the barrel. On my pistol the barrel was in fact factory serial numbered to the pistol's receiver. I don't know if anyone out there knows what the additional number printed on the barrel signifies or designated (Italian agency issue number? Rack number?), but if you check below it you should be very happy to learn the gun is not mismatched at all. Unfortunately the added number has the same alpha numeric sequence as the pistol's serial number so is somewhat confusing when first observed. Thank you Classic Firerms and God bless you!

I paid for hand selection and was pretty disappointed with the results. If the one I received was best out of 10, I would hate to see the other 9.

I knew this was a used and handled firearm and was expecting the finish to show as much, but I expected better finish based on pictures, videos and description. I would not classify these as "Very Good Condition" especially if this is best of 10. The only reason it got 3 stars is because it functions flawlessly.

My advise is to skip the hand selection option. if my experience is the norm, you won't get a good looker even when paying extra so whats the point? If you want a good shooter, this is a good choice.

I will still be a customer, but will second guess hand selection options from now on.

Excellent pistol for the money!
Shipping was not blazing fast, but neither did i expect it to be. 5 days from order to ship, 5 days in transit. Then 72 hr of patient waiting later...
2 fully functioning pistols were coming home with me. Both have the "BU" stamp, indicating 2004 manufacture. One has considerably more holster wear, and was dropped on the rear sight, which will need replacement.
One mag appears brand new, and the other has a new body with a worn end cap.
Both have some small areas of surface corrosion, but nothing major.
The frames of these pistols are aluminum, so I was very interested to see if the slide rails exhibited a lot of wear. I was pleased to find both to show minimal wear in this area.
At this price point, I am surprised these fine pistols are still available. I am seriously considering purchasing more.
Don't think twice, or if you do think twice... BUY TWO!

Got one from the second shipment and paid the extra $20 for a hand-select. Very surprised at what I received. I had read many mixed reviews online so had tempered my expectations. What I received is an almost new handgun. Bluing is at 95+%. Barrel is shiny with strong rifling. It was surprisingly clean with no excess oil, just a little easily-removed barrel residue. Can't wait to take it to the range, but I'm seriously considering a second given the fantastic condition the first was in.
GREAT PRODUCT. Fun and accurate

Received product this week and took it out to the range.

First shots were at 15 yards and completely acceptable.
I tried the DA pull and I was pretty much right next to the""x" on the next series of 5.

Pushed out the target to 25 yards and was able to place the next 20 shots within a 8 inch circle.

Pro Mag Beretta 92 magazines work. They are a little sticky and will not drop out but they feed it just fine.

The value was excellent. The condtion was very good while adding the select pick upgrade. The numbers were matching. The slide was very tigh and showed very little wear. The grip screws were chewed .The aluminum allowy trigger guard had a lot of egde wear. The slide had very little holster burn. And the barrel was original, had excellent riiffling, and no sliding wear. If the money was available, I would not hesitate to buy another. Thank you Classic Firearms for providing a nice value for the money.

Paid $20 extra for hand select, and again, it was $ well spent. Bluing was probably over 95 percent. This one looks even better than my first purchase. A little Eastwood's Metal Blackening solution touched-up the small amount of holster wear. Of course, the accuracy of this one is great, also. Thanks again, Classic!

Received my Beretta 92S yesterday at my FFL. Chose the best of 10 hand select option. I am very pleased with this pistol and the value. Over all, the pistol in border Very Good/Excellent, I would say. Holster wear on sharp edges of slide, trigger guard, beaver tail and back strap. The lanyard loop has a flat spot. Looks like it was dropped/banged. Made in Italy magazine. insert/remove wear. No rust. Blued. Upon filed strip, found barrel serial number matches my receiver! Woo Hoo!!Grips in very good condition, only a few blemishes. I highly recommend grabbing one or even two of these pistols. Extra mags aren;t really a problem and you'll get used to the mag release. Unless you don;t care about keeping your mags if in a SHTF situation, your hand will be at the bottom of the grip anyway. Call Classic today. Buy one!

I paid for the hand select, so classicfirearms gave me a brand new Beretta 92s! Ok well not "brand new" you might call it a "certified preowned". The previous owner must have had an office job. The blueing is remarkable, and price is unbeatable. Hands down the best gun that I've bought from classic and I've bought several. Thank you classicfirearms!

I buy surplus weapons all the time and this was by far in the worst shape I've ever seen. The slide was completely covered with pitting and the blue was almost gone from slide and barrel. Not what I was expecting to receive from viewing other pictures of 92s posted here! I know when buying surplus guns your taking a chance on quality but this should have been marked down a lot lower then 299$. I work as a Police Officer and I've seen every form of weather damage to holster wear n dings/scratches to never being cleaned for a decade with Berettas and Sigs! I cant imagine what this 92s went through to be in the condition it is? Definitely buyers remorse is what I'm feeling but I'll live with it and a lesson learned.

So this isn't my first purchase here at Classic Firearms and every other firearm purchase their description of the gun has been spot on and I love my other purchases. This time, I am disappointed in the hand select and overall condition of the gun. To be honest I would be disappointed even if I didn't do hand select. The condition isn't there. The frame is a DARK black that appears to have been refinished at some point. The slide is a brownish color but not quite rust brown. The slide has pitting and is has little to no finish left on it. When the description says Very Good to Excellent I feel misled. I give this purchase 2.5 stars because it is a working firearm at a good price, the finish and hand select were the disappointment. ($299.99+$20 hand select) Shipping was fast as usual. I could have gone elsewhere paid a little more and got a "Like New" 92s. I chose to stick with Classic because of my positive past experiences. Next time I will unfortunately have to think twice about where I buy from.

I have one 92s mine about same handgun ever one else got used it work great. Yes bluing worn off handgun here there yet so for work well any new handgun I own. Any rust on my 92s in little places I do not care about used handgun after all. I did buy for beauty or collector value bought for what is value own it is has let me down at all in that . If like replace grips go e-bay find some one selling discontinued Pachmayr rubber grips for Beretta model 92s for round 20 bucks. What great new Beretta JM92H 92FS magazine fit 92s have cut out on bottom magazine in right place and well work in 92s price not bad round $21.88 at most place round internet. As all classicfirearms.com provide good services speed delivery get my 92s to me. I could be happier with them.

I received my beretta 92s thinking that it was gonna be rough like any other surplus gun but I was shocked what I got. I opened the box happy to see documents from the beretta factory showing the work that had been done. there is the most minimal slide wear from the holster but the rest was amazing. the barrel was brand new with no wear, the slide you can tell was operated but never really used, hammer had little hit marks so many rounds where chambered but never actually fired. the only problem was a weak magazine spring but what else can you expect from a 40 year old gun. at the range im hitting groups no bigger than a wallet with cheap steel case wolf ammo. overall im very very impressed and absolutely happy

The Beretta is what the USAF used for MPs, in combat zones, and proficiency range training. Jumped at this opportunity for an Italian police surplus as soon as posted on Classic Firearms. Spent an extra $20 for cosmetic appearance. Bluing was almost perfect with some holster wear and easily touched up with Eastwood's Metal Blackening Solution. The barrel had very little wear. Action was smooth and accuracy was great. Bought extra mags for the 92S and rigged some Hogue grips on it, too. Fun to shoot - - thanks again, Classic !

Added the Hand Pick to my purchase and was 100% satisfied. Pistol looks brand new in and out. Has that heavy Beretta DA trigger pull, but SA is pretty good. Does not feel as good in the hand as the 92 FS, but for $320 I can get over it. Will try installing a 16# hammer spring and see how she does.

I bought this to add to my collection. I already have a Beretta Model 84B 380acp that I bought about 30 years ago that shoots very nice. I wanted a Beretta 92 9mm for a long time and was looking for a Inox 92FS. I came across this 92S and it looked like a good deal so I purchased it from Classic Firearms. I paid extra to hand select and hoped for the best. It arrived quickly and I was very pleased with its condition. It was a used trade in and showed some holster wear. The bore was in great shape and after a little cleaning I was off to the range. I have about 600 rounds thru it now and have installed a Pachmayr B92S wrap around grip. It is now one of my favorite guns. Thanks Classic Firearms

I understand when buying a used firearm on-line your taking a chance, But I expect Classic Firearms would hold their supplier accountable to provide only VG conditionn product. This handgun is supposed to be In Very Good condition, the one I received at best is less than Good Condition. There is pitting on the outside slid where rust has been removed taking all the blueing with it, the barrel looks to be good but the overall condition is poor. Let me say it again I realize this is a surplus handgun but Classic needs to hold there supplier accountable, there shouldn't be any sold in this condition when they are advertised as Very Good.

At first I was a little disappointed that the barrel serial number didn't match up with the frame serial number, as I guess my Beretta had gotten a replacement barrel along the way at some point in it's life. I quickly got over that, as it certainly is not a problem because it fits well and if anything is a good thing having a new barrel. The pistol I received (once field stripped & cleaned up) is in very good condition. I could not be happier with this pistol or this transaction, as I have been with the rest of the times I purchased here from Classic Firearms. They gave me fast shipping and a fine product each time, and you get what you paid for vs. some other companies that don't AIM to please their customers that try to send you rusted out surplus firearms after telling you how "great" they are! But that is a whole other tale of a completely different un-named (cough.. AIM's!)company! lol. Thank you to the folks at Classic Firearms for another great deal and the great customer service, it is appreciated!

The 92S that I bought was in really nice condition with some holster wear in the finish. Looking at others for sale online mine is in way better condition than a lot for sale at a higher price (thanks for the great Veteran's day sale). This is my first purchase from Classic, and I couldn't be happier. I also really appreciate the beliefs of this company and that they don't shy away from their faith. I noticed other comments about magazines. Beretta factory 15 round mags will work in the 92S because they still have the release notch for these old guns on the mag bodies. Mec-gar mags won't work.

The one I got is good to very good on the exterior - typical holster wear. The inside is excellent, as is the barrel. I doubt it's had 1000 rounds through it.
The trigger SA was ~ 7pds, so I've done some work on that and got it down to 4+.
This is my 3rd 9mm pistol, the other two are self defense guns, this is a FUN gun, and it really is fun to shoot. I'm glad I bought it.

I like Beretta pistols. I have a PX4 in .40 Cal. and like the way they shoot. I decided that I needed something in 9mm as an extra and the 92 was my choice. When Classic sent an email on these I jumped. Just wish it could have been CR 3 sales. It has not been to the range with me yet, but I expect it to perform well. It takes down nice and looks good on the inside. This is my 1st buy from Classic Firearms. These were advertised as "Very Good Used Surplus," with that in mind it get 5 stars from me. Thanks Classic.

Just picked up my Beretta today. Overall, gun was exactly as described. General wear and tear but very functional. Only downside, the magazine is a rusted mess. I wish they would have never even put it in the gun. So rusted, it is not safe to use. Luckily, my gun store had a spare mag they sold that actually fit the 92S. Happy with purchase, magazine a let down.

Firearm was promptly shipped and received by my FFL and was packaged well. While the gun is solid mechanically, it definitely shows plenty of wear from being carried, as well as having surface rust on parts of the barrel and slide. Rust came right off with a good cleaning, but it may be a bit of a stretch to call my gun "very good used". Regardless, I am happy with the purchase and have a perfectly functional firearm at a good price.

Finally got to take delivery of the gun today. It's a really nice firearm. Tight as can be and well oiled for preservation. There is some holster wear, and for whatever reason the right grip looks like someone doodled on it with an electropen. But I wish I hadn't picked the "best of ten" hand select. Honestly, I think it could have been better for what you guys charge. What you should do is instead of "best of ten", is go through them all and cherry-pick the best and then charge a premium for those. Then the customer would be guaranteed of getting the best of the best as opposed to just a little better chance of getting a really good one. And it's not just this gun. I did the same for a Mosin I ordered earlier this year. All I can say was if that was "best of 10", then I again would have been better off rolling the dice and not paying the premium.

I really can't complain too much, because it's still a fantastic gun for half the price of a new one, but I think you should either pick the very best and charge a premium, or forget about offering the "best of 10".
But I will order from you guys again. Shipping is fast and the email updates are great.

As for the gun, it's going to look great with a coat of Cerakote in burnt bronze with custom carbon fiber grips.

I paid for hand select and got one that looks almost brand new. Perfect finish and really tight. Barely any finish missing on the internal wear parts. I would say 100 rounds or less have been through this gun. Great deal.

As far as the magazines goes: The bottom side style release requires a notch in that bottom portion of the side of the mag. Newer style 92 and M9 mags do not have this notch. All you have to do is measure from the bottom and the side of your mag that comes with the gun and get the measurement of where the cut out is. Use the measurements to determine the correct place on a newer style mag. Mark it with a scribe or marker or whatever and cut the area out with a dremel. Smooth edges of cut out with small file if needed. Disassemble the magazine and clean out and metal particles. 5 minute fix. I realize that with a round wheel on the dremel there will be little overlap cuts on the square that you cut. It doesn't matter as long as you don't go to far. M9 mags aren't as cheap as they once were, but still affordable.

Clearly a carry gun, it looks to have been rode hard and put back wet. Not what I would call very good condition. I got mine near the end of classic's offering so I likely wound up with the bottom of the barrel. That's the risk you take with surplus eh? Functionally sound with sharp rifling but not a looker by any stretch. Think the surplus sks, it works but not winning any pagents. Still, does what it says on the tin.

Pistol works just fine. Paid extra for the hand pick, was a little disappointed at first in the appearance but it is a used firearm and it is mechanically fine. I have been wanting to refinish a firearm myself so this will be my first. Magazines for me are not a problem, I live in a military town and just picked up 7 from my local military surplus store all with circle notches on the bottom right of the magazines for $7 each so make sure you try your local surplus stores first.

I am glad I jumped on this so fast. I took the pistol apart and found it to be almost brand new. bore was mirror. the muzzle had been worn and the frame had the finish worn off around the lanyard loop. the slide showed holster wear. The locking block had no wear and looked brand new. The barrel serial number on the barrel did not match the frame so I think this pistol went to an arsenal or factory before it was shipped. I got the hand picked and got grips that were like new very little scratching or wear. New factory grips for the 92s are available. The magazine is new inside. There is only wear blue missing from the butt from carry.
I rate this pistol as new internally, and good for finish wear. I am going to recrown the muzzle and buy extra magazines, I found that 92 factory magazines fit the 92s also and only cost about 20 dollars. That is totally it. This will be a fun shoot. Hope more people get a chance at one of these. Service was excellent. I will buy from this outfit again. God Bless and Keep you all.

Got mine in this afternoon, and took it for a spin out in the woods. Shoots and handles very well. Unfortunately, due to the slide release being at the bottom, you're going to have a bad time finding aftermarket grips for it. As Hickok45 suggested, using skater's tape works wonders.

Any factory beretta magazine will work in this, as long as it has the little notch in the bottom (it looks like a hole). I bought a few of the 15 rounders... http://www.midwayusa.com/product/1043313514/beretta-magazine-beretta-92-cx4-storm-with-92-96-series-magazine-well-9mm-luger-steel-blue

Also, I don't recommend getting the "best out of ten" option. I made that mistake and my slide has some pitting issues. But that can be fixed with a little elbow grease...I'm just miffed I paid for it and got some blemishes, but, I guess that's the luck of the draw with these surplus pistols. Deducting a star.

Apart from all this, it's a great full size gun. It's as accurate as my other "premium" handguns, and I know it'll be a good range gun for years to come.
Good Beretta

Nice cheap way to get a Beretta 92 series. These guns lack a few of the features of the more modern FS series, like a firing pin block, but otherwise they are nice guns. Most seem to have holster wear from the video CF posted. I wouldn't waste money on the "handpick" option. I'd check them out to see what type of firing pin block they have. You may want to replace it with the latest (generation 3) block if it is one of the older versions.

The magazine release is on the bottom, so you need a magazine with the notch at the bottom to work. Factory Beretta magazines come with the notches in both locations so factory magazines from Beretta should work. Magazines from other suppliers can be modified if they do not have the notch. I'd use a factory Beretta magazine as a guide for where to put the notch. You basically drill a hole in the magazine and file it square. Its pretty simple once you see what it looks like on the standard magazine.

The double action is very smooth and the single action is excellent.

Beretta makes a nice weapon and these have been through their factory and checked out.

Accuracy has always been excellent in every one of these that was issued to me. Like I said I always shot expert and that was just with an issued gun from the armory. I expect these will be very nice.

For this price they are a steal! Get one while you can.
Mag release on Itallians
Review by kurtz on 11/8/2014

I read the 92S doesn't use the standard magazine for most 92's, 9x19. Can anyone elaborate on this? Seems the mag release is different. and has to have notches. Can this be done.
  • Description
  • Brutus' Description

Better than my Beretta 92 SF?
    Review by Eric on 1/9/2017

Enjoy!

    Review by James on 10/21/2016

    Love my Beretta.

Great buy!

I was expecting alot less quality then I received. Only had a few minutes to look it over and a quick field strip. I let my ccp expire last year, Ill have to wait till next wed to break it down totaly. Not expecting any problems. First time buying from classic, would not hesitate to order from them again.

The gun has practically no blemishes and looks/seems unfired. There is nearly 100% bluing and the frame has just a few tiny bumps on the grips and high-points at the handle.

The only minor issue was the front sight is a little hard to picl up but a dab of nail polish and it's fixed.
classic F.A.is really hit it out out of the park with this deal. I'm seriously considering buying a second.

I just received my Beretta yesterday. I paid the extra $20 for hand select, and I'm glad I did. It was in very good to almost excellent shape. I am very happy. The barrel appeared to be in new condition and never fired. I always buy from classic arms. Thank you!!!!!!!

Great deal and great service as always.

I broke it down, cleaned it up, and while not a new gun obviously, it is VERY nice. I can't wait to get it to the range this week. Bore looks like new, and very minimal wear on the outside.

Was going to cut away the area on the left grip to clear the magazine release; however, the mag release works just fine without any alterations. Gives a nice grip and was easier than the Hogue grips put on the first purchase, and costs a lot less, too.

Ahem. Beautiful pistol, I'll take I to the range this week. The gunshop owner says he almost didn't want to call me to pick it up, kinda wanted it for himself. Thanks classic guns, very classy service.

Received my 92s from Classic Firearms last week. $299 plus $20 hand select. Oily and a little grimy, but cleaned up pretty well. Some holster wear and very few dings. Original barrel was dirty with strong rifling. Classic advertised as Very Good to Excellent, which I think is fairly accurate. Overall, I would rate the pistol as A-.

This is my second purchase from Classic. It is easy and fast to buy from Classic.
I paid the $20 extra for hand selection. The pistol had noticeable holster wear, which is easy to cover up with quick blueing, and wear on the grips. 92S grips seem hard to find.Mechanically, the gun looks very good.
The gun performed flawlessly at the range. Trigger pull seems light to me. Accuracy is well within expectations. it will empty the 15 round mag very quickly. I am happy with this gun.

And the barrel was original, had excellent riiffling, and no sliding wear. If the money was available, I would not hesitate to buy another. Buy one!

I am glad I ordered two, I think they are well worth the price, true Italian Berettas with character. Thanks Again!

This is my first purchase thru classic and I'm see a lot of good reviews and I don't know if I'd call the one I got very nice, I don't mind the wear and the marks on the pistol. I was very disipointed in the rust on the def areas of the gun after paying 20 bucks more for hand pick. All said and done its an ok buy I guess. Hopefully a good cleaning will remove so me the rust
    Great Gun!

Got mine in the other day, and I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Looks very nice and bore is in great shape. Barrel is tight with very little play.

You can tell that this is a very well made pistol.

I really should have bought two. Thanks Classic!

I was a active duty medic for 7 years in the army had the same beretta for that whole time . i own alot of other pistols and only wanted a beretta for the nostalgia of it this is a really nice clone and for half the price a great deal . pistols is in great shape only difference between these and us military one are mag release is lower no bigy just drill the hole to line up with the one that comes with the pistol . and the safety is not ambidextrous im right handed so no big deal it fits in all my old holsters . and all my spare mags work great after 2 mins in the garage .
    Functional if not pretty

Clearly a carry gun, it looks to have been rode hard and put back wet. Not what I would call very good condition. I got mine near the end of classic's offering so I likely wound up with the bottom of the barrel. That's the risk you take with surplus eh? Functionally sound with sharp rifling but not a looker by any stretch. Think the surplus sks, it works but not winning any pagents. Still, does what it says on the tin.
    Great deal. Great Beretta.

Very good condition. Great price. One of the best handguns in the world. It is not an FS series and the mag release threw me off a bit, but the weapon functions flawlessly and with Beretta's trademark accuracy. I should have bought two while I could. Hope you guys get some more. Thanks to you Classic Fire arms.

Pistol works just fine. Paid extra for the hand pick, was a little disappointed at first in the appearance but it is a used firearm and it is mechanically fine. I have been wanting to refinish a firearm myself so this will be my first. Magazines for me are not a problem, I live in a military town and just picked up 7 from my local military surplus store all with circle notches on the bottom right of the magazines for $7 each so make sure you try your local surplus stores first.
almost new inside carry ware out.

Ordered the pistol on a Saturday and received it Friday. I paid the twenty for the hand select and I received a pistol nicer than what I saw on the video or is pictured on the web site. A very nice example of a surplus firearm. Thank you Classic !!!! Always a pleasure to do business with your company !!!!

For those that purchase this gun... What do you think sbout the small sights? I don't think night sights are an option. Paint - ro make more visuble? Suggestions?

I am very pleased with this purchase... Too bad they sold out so fast.

I used this while I was in the Navy in a Trident Submarine Security Unit and Intelligence unit. I always shot expert.

Double action, single action is excellent. It is as good as any Sig Sauer I have owned.

I read the 92S doesn't use the standard magazine for most 92's, 9x19. Can anyone elaborate on this? Seems the mag release is different. and has to have notches. Can this be done.
