The Mauser Model 1895 adopted as Fusil Mauser Chileno Mo 1895 by Chilean forces, is a bolt operated magazine fed rifle using the 7×57mm Mauser cartridge. It is the first major modification of the Mauser Model 1893 and was produced by Deutsche Waffen und Munitionsfabriken, known as DWM, and Ludwig Loewe Company during the period of 1895-1900 - >
The Mauser Model 1895 is a modification of the Mauser Model 1893. First supplied by the Ludwig Loewe & Co during 1895-1896 then later by DWM, the Mauser model 1895 first made its appearance during a small arms race between Argentina and Chile in 1896 and 1898. The flush-mounted staggered column box magazine has a capacity of 5 7×57mm Mauser cartridges. The magazine can be loaded from a stripper clip, or with individual rounds.
This rifle was manufactured by DWM in Germany... We have used GC in the code because the majority of what we have would be in surplus good condition but with cracked stocks. We have several rifles in the GI code. That stands for Good Incomplete. Now normally I would have an aversion to any rifle listed as missing parts or incomplete but in this case the same small part is missing on all of the rifles under that code. It is the elevation slide that goes on the rear sight leaf. The rear sight is there, but the elevator mechanism to select yardage is not. If you are like me and typically shoot under a hundred yards anyway then you will never miss this and even if you do shoot farther you can simply hold over. Anyway, These rifles otherwise are in the good code and at $50.00 off should be the best deal on the page for the money...
