This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. Beautiful Chinese Made Norinco SKS Rifle - I have had this rifle in my safe since the mid to late 80's. Still in the original cardboard box that it came in, and still in the original cosmoline that it was packed in. Due to the conditions that I kept it stored in the cosmoline has actually maintained its viscosity and the rifle and cosmoline on it still look exactly like they did over 35 years ago. This rifle is unhandled and unfired. It is a gorgeous prime example of a Chinese SKS rifle. These rifles were banned from import in the early 90's and have risen in value ever since. This one comes complete with its folding spike type bayonet. It also comes with an original canvas sling and Chinese chest pouch. In addition, this rifle features the very rare bakelite handguard sometimes known as the French Tickler handguard. This handguard is ribbed on the sides and has a pebble textured surface on the top. To me it looks absolutely stunning on the rifle. These models are not impossible to find but I have seen literally thousands of SKS's in my day but only a handful in this configuration. This is quite the rare find. In addition to that, this rifle looks new inside and out (because it is)  with a beautiful wood stock featuring good grain and some nice color contrast, as well as a deep, rich blued finish on the metal. The rifle also features the folding spike style bayonet. Bore is chrome lined and new/unfired still packed with cosmoline. In my opinion, this gun is museum quality. If you desire to fire this rifle it will need to be cleaned thououghly to remove all of the cosmoline and that includes in the bore. It is also imperitive to clean the lower bolts thoroughly on SKS rifles so that the firing pin will float freely as intended to avoid slamfires.  If you want to keep it as a collector's piece it should be able to remain stored just as it is for many years to come. SKS rifles have always had a special place in my heart as they are what got me started in surplus, and this is a wonderful, rare example of a very nice one. I have been proud to have in my collection and I'm sure that you would enjoy having in yours. I have never fired this rifle but it dry functions properly and is 100% intact. The rifle ships in it's original box packed inside an outer box and it is bubble wrapped for maximum protection. This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. This rifle requires a full FFL for purchase. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me.
