The Cimarron AS18864570R is a model 1886 .45-70 rifle, equipped with a robust 26" octagon barrel. This model was invented by John Browning in 1884, later catching the eye of Winchester during negotiations to manufacture the 1885 High Wall and Low Wall. Proving its quality and resilience, the 1886 Winchester became a staple for Big Game hunting, making prominent appearances in African hunting expeditions. It also earned the title of being Theodore Roosevelt's preferred rifle until its production discontinued in 1932.
The original '86s' are of immense popularity among hunters and collectors today, often fetching lofty prices due to their good condition. The Cimarron Model 1886, however, matches the strength and accuracy of the original model, proving to be an affordable alternative at just one-tenth of the price.
