The Forster Products NTG338, also known as the Neck Tension Gage (NTG), is an essential tool for inspecting and sorting batches of brass before carrying out your bullet seating operations. The NTG provides reloaders with valuable data that helps to establish precise neck tensions during the bullet seating process. This device proves useful in conducting measurements after case neck sizing and before bullet seating, allowing you to determine the ideal inside neck diameter for a consistent bullet release.
Additionally, the NTG also plays a crucial role in inspecting the inside diameters of case necks, ensuring that a donut hasn't formed at the neck-shoulder junction. The NTG Neck Tension Gage Inspection Tool is equipped with four increasing diameters that extend all the way up to the handle. Each diameter is carefully etched onto the surface of the metal tool.
Using the tool is simple. Just insert the stepped end of the tool into your sized case's neck, and push it through until one of the diameters fits comfortably within it. You can then use the corresponding value to fine-tune your case preparation procedure.
