This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. Beautiful Yugo M24/47 Rifle. I do know the history of this rifle because I picked it out. This rifle came from Samco Global Arms and was one of the rifles in their inventory when they closed their doors and went to auction around 2015. I went down to Miami to inspect their inventory at the invitation of the auction company, and while we did not end up buying the entirety of the inventory, I was able to cherry pick a couple of rifles. Now there is nothing terribly collectible about M24/47 rifles. They were manufactured in the late 40's and early 50's by Zastava as military rifles and were virtually identical to the German K98 except the M24/47 has a straight bolt handle. As to their value, while all surplus has seen a marked increase in value in recent years a lot of these rifles were produced and since they had no real military history that people found compelling, they have not gained value at the same rate as others. So, what made me want this rifle? Well, two things. I have always been a sucker for really nice grain and contrast in wood and this rifle has one of the prettiest black walnut stocks that I have ever seen on a surplus rifle. My other weakness is a good bore. I remember seeing this rifle for the first time and saying to myself if that rifle has a good bore I'm getting it. Well, it was full of cosmoline but after a few times through with solvent and some patches I found that the bore was pristine. This gun has as nice of a bore on it as I have ever seen. Bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. It should make a great shooter, but I have never fired it. In fact, the bolt still has some cosmoline inside making the firing pin drop slowly so the bolt will need to be cleaned in some solvent before firing. All primary serial numbers match including the buttstock. Also, unlike many, it has its cleaning rod and sight hood. It has the post war Yugo crest on receiver and is marked with factory code “Preduzece 44 There is a lot of finish wear on the buttplate which has never concerned me as it is common for guns of this era, but I do want to state that it is there. I'm certain that this rifle has not been refinished, it has simply been very well kept. Other than that, I don't know any more of the history. All that I can state for sure is that it is a very nice M24/47 rifle which I have been proud to have in my collection and I'm sure that you would enjoy having in yours. The rifle ships wrapped in bubble wrap for maximum protection. This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. This rifle is C&R Eligible. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and at this point in my life I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold.
