I have had one of these in my gun safe for probably the past 20 years and it is one of my most prized possessions. The Mas 36 is nothing fancy and in fact is one of the most basic rifles I have ever encountered. However, they are really unique and have a certain cool factor that you just won't find in other rifles. It is a 5 round bolt action rifle chambering the 7.5x54 ( commonly referred to as 7.5 French ) round. It also incorporates a spike type bayonet that can be turned around and carried withing the body of the stock, or pulled out, turned around and mounted to the rifle through the use of a simple release button. These rifles are built like tanks.Back in the late 80's and very early 90's, we were able to obtain these fairly easily but supplies dried up and they have been largely gone for years. Due to some special circumstances we have a very limited quantity available now. More about the rifles. - Although these were not imported by Century Arms, they did come to us through Century as part of a large purchase they recently obtained through a buy out of a now defunct U.S. Distributor. They are coming to us pre-boxed by Century Arms who also did the grading and we are selling them in the box, based on the grading code that they have assigned. These particular rifles are their X code graded rifles with the X standing for Excellent Surplus condition. We are selling them under the grading codes they assigned and are not un-boxing or inspecting them ourselves. If you order you will see their original code on the outside flap of the box. As such, knowing that they have all been inspected for function and graded by Century already, we are selling them as is with no returns accepted for any reason. However, Century is offering a repair or replace warranty with a 30 day from receipt inspection period for function of the rifle. Extremely low quantities available and when they are gone, they are gone. Hurry. To learn more about the MAS-36 you can visit their Wikipedia page here. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MAS-36_rifle
