This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. Beautiful Polytech Legend National Match AK Rifle in Excellent Condition. The Polytech Legend was the standard bearer of quality in Chinese made AK-47 rifles and the National Match variation was the rarest of all. The National Match is patterned after the RPK platform with a 20" Heavy Barrel Contour. The Barrel is Cold Hammer Forged and Air Gauged (to check bore specs) to enhance accuracy. The extra 4" of barrel means better sight radius and greater accuracy as well as increased velocity and performance. Barrel and Chamber are Chrome Lined: as is the Piston, Bolt and Carrier. The receiver is milled from a solid billet and is 1.5mm thick like original Russian AK47 and so designated as AK47 is correct. The cone style flash hider is still on the rifle as it was from the factory. This part in and of itself is very rare and almost impossible to replace so it is a tremendous asset to still have it with the rifle. Many if not most of the rifles still around do not have the original cone dissipater and I have seen just the cones go for as much as $1000.00 so finding one with the cone makes it exceedingly more valuable. The rifle features adjustable rear and front sights. Wood finish is Legend Dark Mahogany over Chu wood which is not only beautiful but also very moisture resistant. The rifle was manufactured at plant 386 in Beijing China. Chinese characters on left side of receiver translate to " Rifle for Accuracy" and it is far more accurate than a standard 16" barreled AK. The trigger pull is exceptionally good. The milled receiver comes with the original side rail scope mount factory installed. This rifle ships with the original sling attached and an original 30 round Polytech mag with chrome follower. The mag has Poly China stamped on the floorplate. The bore on this rifle is pristine and like new. Mirror bright and shiny with strong lands and grooves. It should be an absolute tack driver. The rifle was imported in the late 80's by Keng's Firearms in Atlanta Ga. I am the original owner and purchased it new from them. There was only a very limited quantity that made it into the country before the import ban. I have been proud to have this rifle in my collection and I'm sure that you would enjoy having it in yours. I have fired probably 30 rounds through this rifle since I have owned it and it was absolutely one of my favorites. Oh, and for some reason our photo guy took the cleaning rod out while trying to eliminate shadows and failed to put it back in when he took the images but it does come with the cleaning rod. He also couldn't get the stock color right in the images but it is a beautiful color in person so the images truely do not do this one justice. I could have had him re-shoot but we were both tired of messing with it. The rifle will ship in a hard case for maximum protection. This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. This rifle requires a full FFL to purchase. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold. See more about the rifle below.
