    Brutus' Description

It has been a little over a year now since we had our last batch of these fine handguns in stock, but I believe the wait was worth it.  These are exceptional, probably the nicest batch we've had here.  And no disrespect to the Yugo variation, but I like these better.

These have a factory safety instead of an after production add on and the lines and fit are just cleaner.  These are in excellent condition with nice bluing and very minimal wear. Each pistol is packed in light oil inside a plactic bag... comes complete with an original  surplus grade holster, lanyard, cleaning rod and extra mag. The finish on these is a deep rich blue.  Some may have very slight bluing wear on the sharp edges but most do not.  Bores have been very nice on the ones I have seen.

Each pistol is semi-automatic and fires the hard hitting, flat shooting 7.62x25 caliber cartridge.  These pistols come with two 8rd mag.

Don't you buy no ugly gun.... Get one of these and be proud.....

Some have lanyard loops, some do not.

I picked up my tok from ffl dealer yesterday and was very satisfied with this pistol. Not a scratch or ding. Took a while to get rifling clean but after finally clean gun fired flawlessly and with good accuracy at about 15 yds. Keep up the good work classic.

I got mine about a week ago, cleaned it up and this thing is perfect. It doesn't look like it's ever been issued or fired. The blueing and bore are perfect. I was only 5 years old when this pistol was made in 1953 and I certainly haven't aged as well as this jewel.

I have wanted a tokarev for a long time now, and I finally bought one. I love it, it is smooth and low recoil. I paid extra for hand select ( which is the outside cosmetics ) and it was a beautiful gun. the only negative thing I could say is that the barrel was full of dark gooey gunk, but it is a surplus pistol, and functions better than I could have ever hoped. thanks classic firearms!

This is a great hand gun. Mine was made 1993. Arrived in excellent shape although the barrel had to be cleaned out. Took to range and put 100 rounds through it. No jams, no malfunctions. Sights fixed, simple and dead on. Bought this as back up gun for boar hunting. with 1700 fps and 550 lbs muzzle energy, I think this will do quite nicely. Holster was in good shape, as was the lanyard and the cleaning rod. fits nice to hand, great to shoot, recoil somewhat less than 8mm canik I had but that may be due to it being all metal without any plastic except maybe the handgrips.

Glad l read the reviews and decided to order this pistol. The bore needed to be cleaned, and it was covered in oiled, but that just gave me a chance to get to know this gun. The appearance and finish was excellent. After cleaning the bore,it looked like a brand new gun. If not for some slight (very slight) wear on the slide rail, the pistol looked as if it had never been used. Have'nt fired it yet, but if it shoots as good as it looks, l can't see how it could get any better. Chambers as smooth as a baby's bottom. They say the Polish Tok is smoother,l don't see how it could. Guess l'll just have to order one and see when the good folks at Classic get another batch in. Like a kid on Xmas, l can't wait! I waited to review after a range day. Pistol came covered in oil which was great. Cleaned off with de greaser. Excellent frame and grips. Barrel was dirty however after cleaning and scrubbing it is shinny and good bore. Hammer assembly had some rust which was removed. Took to range fired 50 round nose and 50 JHP. No issues. Felt recoil less than a 9mm and more than a 380. Rear sight was way off. Tapped sight after oiling and it moved no issue to center alignment. Now it is right on at 20 yards. Love the firearm.

OK gang...Just finished cleaning and assembling my Tok TTC from Classic. Well...I gotta say, it is just like CLASSIC said it would be. Got it last night, stripped it down, dumped all parts except barrel in my ED's RED solution to soak overnight. Grabbed barrel, dipped it in ammonia and started scrubbing with barrel brush ..YUCK ..YUCK ..YUCK!! Grud, black goo..all kinds of stuff came out. So, dropped it back in ammonia for an overnight soak. Got up at 8, pulled barrel out and dumped in ED's RED for two more hours. Then began scrubbing with it submerged in solution and ...'you bet'...more crud and corruption came out. So,dropped it back in ED's RED and started one by one, pulling out parts and blowing them down with air, spray clean with WD-40, more air and got all parts clean as a whistle. Back to barrel...more scrubbing with it submerged and finally quit. Pulled it out, blow it down, WD-40 and a swab through barrel...saw just a bit of brown stuff..one more oily swab and all is clean white. And, barrel is now 'shiny' clean. "GOOD" rifling....OK boys,,,they did say 'dark bores'...You knew it when you bought it because they 'told you so'...BUT BUT BUT... She cleaned up really nice. And...I just spent a few minutes looking at the rest of the pistol... and...absolutely but absolutely NO ONE SCRATCH..NOT ONE "WEAR POINT" where bluing is gone. Yes..a 100% perfect coating. The pistol, (save barrel) is PRISTINE. I did ask for 'hand picked' and I believe I got what I paid for. I now have 8 ea. TT's. This is the best one (save barrel) that I own. BUT...that old barrel did clean up very nicely. I bought one that won't shoot, (not from Classic) because the firing pin is too short. I bought one, (not from Classic) that the magazine won't seat and 'hang fires'... I think, the manufacturer made these, tested them, (say 50-60 rounds) then put them up without cleaning the barrels. I think this as the trigger group wear is so slight. I mean it looks brand new and has very little of the bluing wear at the side where the slide comes by it. So kiddos... I got what I paid for, I got what they said I would get, thing is PRISTINE, (save barrel), and the barrel is in, my opinion, VERY GOOD condition after some serious cleaning.

I just might buy me another one. So, 'Classic dun gud by me!"

I paid an extra $20 for a hand pick from a group advertised as "excellent." Just picked the gun up today and I must say, the condition was not excellent, it was NEW. Perfect. Except for two barely perceptible dings, one on each grip panel, the gun was beyond expectations. ZERO holster wear. The barrel shone like a gem. The finish was 100%.

I purchased a similarly touted CZ82 from another outfit and it looked like it had been dragged through a gravel pit. Hat's off to Classic Firearms.

Second, solid piece of work, not light and not too heavy...just right feel in my hand. I let my 14 year old son pop off a few and he REALLY like it. A little bit of a kick. Got the Tok on Monday the 5th, got the ammo last night from the brown truck. Pistol looks close to perfect condition, bore was in need of a cleaning-- came out looking new. I'll shoot it this weekend-- 24 below zero with the wind right now. Classic does a great job. Won't be the last firearm I buy from them , that's for sure. Thanks.

This was my second order from Classic Firearms. My first was a Mosin-Nagant M-44. I opted to pay extra for the hand select which was well worth it. The pistol arrived a few days later double boxed and packed in a baggie. It was covered in light oil. Upon inspection, the pistol looked new (for a nearly 60 year old pistol). The bore was clean and there was no exterior wear. The grips had a couple of small imperfections in the plastic but this could have been done by the importer who installed the safety. The holster and magazines which came with the pistol were in good shape as well. This was a great purchase and a great transaction.
Excellent external condition, shoots fine, lots of crud in barrel
    Review by Jim on 12/31/14
    Quality
Used my C&R and the TTC came on time and as advertised (wrapped in plastic with lots of oil, spare magazine, cleaning rod, holster and two lanyards). Chose hand select for appearance and the external of the gun was at least very good and probably excellent. The bore was absolutely awful, like some of the other reviewers have said. I have never seen so much crud in a barrel (could not even see the rifling, and chunks of junk everywhere inside), and the first patch was rust brown. After numerous passes with solvent, brush, patch, and bore snake viper, the bore cleaned up relatively well. It shoots pretty well using the Rumanian Red Army ammo (2-3" groups at 25 ft, two handed), so the original barrel (the serial numbers match) is still doing its job. I did get a couple failures to lock back on empty (2 out of 4 first magazines). All in all, a good deal on a gun I bought for fun and to have a Korean War era Soviet bloc pistol (made in 1952), without expecting too much. No complaints with Classic and the service provided. Only suggestion would be to ship it with a bore flag...but that's a personal preference.

I ordered two of the Romanian Tokarev pistols. I received both in just over one week. I had to wait several weeks to get ammo. When I finally got the ammo I headed to the range.
One of the pistols worked fine, the other one had a problem. The first round fired fine, the slide came back far enough to pick up the next round but not far enough to lock the hammer back. I tried several times and each time the hammer would not stay back.
I emailed Classic and detailed the problem. The next day they emailed a pre paid shipping label to return the pistol. Less than one week I later I had the replacement pistol. The finish on this one is way better than the one I returned.
    This one fires fine.
Classic customer service is top notch. I would order from them any time.

Picked up my pistol today at my FFL. Dealer We took it out of the box it was sealed in plastic coated with oil and looks to be in mint condition. I am very pleased with the fit and finish and the trigger seems to be crisp. Give it 4 stars because I have not had it to the range yet. This pistol is in like new condition.

Hey Ken - Thanks for your review. The bores in these have been quite nice from what we've seen. Perhaps you are seeing dried up cosmoline that simply needs cleaning out? Let us know if we need to assist in any way as we want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Email sales@ or give us a call. Thanks again and God bless....

      Very nice pistols

This pistol is in like new condition.
      very good with some problems

Recived my pistol in very good time.excelent condition with no wear on outside.minimum wear on slide, But the bore was in rough shape.Ivan shot it and didn't clean it.still had gunpowder in it.
