The Sierra Bullets 1510: Varminter Bullets are explicitly engineered for quick expansion, ensuring immediate termination on larger varmints and small game. These bullets are constructed with thin jackets that promote increased expansion while maintaining the strength needed for firing at the maximum muzzle velocities suited for their respective cartridges. A variety of shapes is available in this category, including hollow point (HP), spitzer pointed flat base (SPT), and semi-pointed (SMP).
Those bullets marked as Blitz are specially crafted for medium velocity, falling under 3600 fps. On the other hand, Hornet bullets are made to reliably expand within the 2500 to 2800 fps velocity span, although they can be accommodated in cartridges that produce up to 3500 fps muzzle velocity. When used at 223 Remington velocities, the Hornet transitions into the explosive "Blitz" style of Varminter.
