The p226 is the pistol that set the standard by which all other combat handguns are measured. Designed as SIG's entrant in the military trials to replace the 1911, today, the p226 is in use by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Federal agents, and numerous law enforcement agencies, including the Texas Rangers, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Michigan State Police to name a few. The exceptional ergonomics and balance make this full-size pistol easy to handle. You would be hard-pressed to find a unit to say a bad word about the p226. It is an accurate handgun that is comfortable to shoot. These police trade-in models are no different. While they may have some miles on them, they are still ready for whatever trials their next owners put them through. These are not safe queens by any means; most of these handguns will show slight signs of holster wear, and if they had night sights in them, the tritium has long since died. However, don't let that deter you from the great value these pistols bring. This is a genuine combat handgun chambered in the hard-hitting and plentiful 40 S&W. These pistols hit the sweet spot of p226s where they are old enough so you can still use them in a modern capacity and mount lights for home defense but not so old that they are lacking features, and you don't want to abuse them due to their history. These p226s are perfect for enthusiasts who want a great deal on a tried and true combat handgun.
Note: Some of these units allowed their officers to use aftermarket grips, so you may find a pair of Hogue rubber grips or grip tape wrapped around the frame. Some may also ship in a hard case, but most will NOT have these features. Be prepared to receive a standard surplus p226 in a cardboard box.
