Man, I love this thing! Oh, nice piece you got there, man. What did they run you about? $8,000? Whoa, I want to get into the world of 2011s, but I don't want to spend that much. You're in luck, dude. All right, welcome to 2024. They don't all cost that much nowadays. Here, under a thousand bucks, under a grand. Yeah, well, let's talk about that. Top five affordable 2011s. Let's get into it.

Hey, oh, welcome back to Classic Firearms guys. KY over here, and today we're going to talk about the top five affordable 2011 1911s out there. Yeah, you excited about this? I am excited. Uh, of course, let's let's dwell on that 2011 versus 1911. 2011, BR, so 2011 was coined by a certain company who came with that design, came what it is, and now that's theirs, right? So other companies had to come in with the DS or double stack 1911. So yeah, there you go. Exactly. So speaking of 1911s, we all know and love, fantastic, the original, the OG stuff is uh, they're 45 calibers nowadays. One, two war wars. Yep, exactly. Multiple different calibers. In this case, I've got the uh Springfield Operator, a single stack 9mm 1911, and that's what a single stack uh gun is. It's kind of slimmer, obviously, grip, and that's it. Maybe 9, 10 round magazine capacity for 45 Caliber, like seven or eight, depending on the uh brand. But now what the companies, what a bunch of companies out there did, they kind of widened this a little bit, and they fit a double stack magazines. That gives you more capacity, more fun. That is about it. And today we are specifically going to talk about the double stack, but affordable 1911s out there. And there's many different strokes of different folks, and I know there's plenty out there that folks, but this is a list that we've compiled just within House of Ones that we came to an agreement on on whether it be Pro versus what you get out of the box versus, you know, all the features that you get. Yeah, but at the end of the day, they're affordable, like the one that I have over here, my uh, Turn Tactical Innovations sand Viper, the beautiful sand Viper right here. How much is that cost? Um, omitted, like 8,000 some change, but you know what, if you guys go to CF contest, you guys probably will see this thing. Check it out. Google CF contest, you'll know what I'm talking about. This thing is there right now. I don't know when you're going to watch this video, but whenever you do, you'll see something cool just like this one. So moving on with that being said, you want to start with number five? Yeah, let's get into it. Let's do it.

All right, starting off with number five, the one that really started like the whole budget like uh DS 2011 or double stack 1911 or 2011 is The Rock Island Tac 9 Ultra. Man, where is it? Oh, we don't have it here, but oh, it's I mean, it's still right there. You got a lot of experience with that gun. I don't, unfortunately. So hand fit, handmade, hand done, but still keeping in that budgetary price, right? It shoots 9 mil, but it also shoots 22 TCM, right? That right there, about a 38 Super, and then with a projectile that's almost the same size as 9 mil, but still firing right there at like 2,000 feet per second. 2,000 feet per second. That thing is smoking, dude. Real, real fast. Um, I don't know, like I don't know why they made that. I couldn't tell you, but yeah, that should be a great defensive round too. 2,000 feet per second round. That's that's uh, that's pretty good. But yeah, for the price, what is the price on that? 8.99 MSRP. Yeah, that's when I heard that I was like, man, cuz I seen that gun in person, but I never fired it. And I, you fired it. How does it feel? It feels good. So the 5-in model is the one that I fought. You get a full Picatinny rail, all the fiber optic sights you can handle, and for a fraction of the price, it's synonymous and it's great, man. It feels good in hand, and when I tell you like it comes with all of the bells and whistles that you need uh, Magwell extended base base pad magazines out all out of the box for $8.99. Yeah, main us uh, obviously Rock Island 8.99, a couple of you know, different caliber options, obviously, I think yeah, it sounds really good. I just wish I had more experience with it, so I could tell you guys, but wanted to take your word on it and place that on our top five budget or affordable 2011 uh list. With that being said, let's move on to number four. And number four is going to be the Springfield Prodigy in that case, comp version. This is the OG version right here. This is what a beautiful gun. Now, guys, we're talking about affordable 2011s. Now, three years ago, if you wanted to get something like this, you'd have to get a Staccato for like $3,000. Yeah, pay Staccato cash. Yeah, but nowadays, this is like you can find this somewhere in the 12, 200 mark. Like, think about that. And that's what Springfield did. Springfield came out with Prodigy, completely changed the market because they were able to offer this thing a lot cheaper than some of those higher brands, and yet it still offers you that quality, shootability, everything you're looking for overall. I love this thing. It is buttery smooth, really good. You can air this thing, right? You better. There we go. So it's so smooth, so good. I love that thing. And of course, people may ask us, whoa, Prodigy is really dope. Why is it at number four, man? Yeah, the reason that is number four because guys, price point is important, right? It is very good at the 1,200 bucks, you know, maybe under $1,500, whatever. But we have identified a problem with the Prodigy, and that is the safety area. So this detent right below this thing right here, I don't know if the camera can see that detent tends to kind of fly out, all right? And that makes this thing useless, and good luck finding your spring. And this has happened to us with a couple of different prodigies, and we've read this on the internet as well. So it's a known issue. I don't know what's going on, but it's such a good gun. Price point is decent as well, but with that problem, we could not rank it any higher. And we also didn't want to exclude it from this list because you guys need to know about this gun. It really is a great value uh for the the quality that it offers, but it has an issue. So Springfield, go ahead and fix it up if you can. Hopefully, you can. Springfield actually came out with the old new Prodigy in FTE right here, and this thing looks amazing. It's the same thing as the OG, just FTE. I love this thing. And again, they can find this thing under 1,300 bucks. Solid grab, solid buy, man. Solid performance. That is it, guys. Number four is Springfield Prodigy. With that being said, ready for number three? Let's do it. Let's do it. And number three is going to be a product that we don't have it over here, but you guys all know about it or should know about, and that's going to be the Platypus from Stealth Arms. Now, what's so cool about that gun is now we don't have a lot of experience. That's why it's rank three. It could be potentially number one. We really have to play with it a lot because NRA show and shot show, we've actually seen that we play with it a little bit, but I don't really have a lot of experience with uh shooting that thing. Do you know? Yeah, so what's so cool about that gun is the price point number one, but $1,400 to $1,700 based on your customization. And that's where it's gets really cool. The modularity, you can pretty much change everything, whether it
