The AR-12 not only resembles the AR-15 / M16 rifle but the control and function are similar. There have been a couple of variations of these on the market in the past with varying degrees of success but with the AR-12 we think that Leader Arms Technologies of Turkey has finally hit on the ultimate combination of design and features.  This shotgun has beautifully styled polymer furniture that has a great feel similar to Houge. Butt stock has a built in recoil pad with an ergonomic pistol grip. Flat top receiver with a full weaver rail . Forearm has a great futuristic and ergonomic design with a quad rail molded in to the top as well as a light attachment molded in to the front of the fore end. Although these are brand new factory firearms, due to the factors listed below we are selling these As Is with No Returns Accepted.

Note this is the 2nd generation of these shotguns and we are told by the importer that they have has some gas system improvements to make them even more reliable with a wide array of shell and charges. The previous generation of these had barrels threaded for and came supplied with choke tubes, however these did not. As such the original video shows choke tubes but please know that these Do Not Come With Choke Tubes Nor Will They Accept Them.

  • AR-12 Semi Auto, AR-15 Style 12ga Shotgun by Leader Arms of Turkey, 3" Chambers

Brutus' Description

The AR12 semi-automatic shotgun uses a conventional gas-operated action which is located around the support tube that runs below the barrel.  The return spring is also located around the same support tube which is concealed by an enlarged polymer handguard . The AR12 barrel can be very easily removed from the upper receiver.  The upper receiver is manufactured from an aluminum alloy while the lower receiver, pistol grip, and stock are manufactured as one piece from impact resistant polymer.  The AR-12 comes with two 5rd metal detachable magazines. The magazine release button mimics the M16 rifle location. The manual safety also duplicates the M16 style being located on the left side of the receiver above the pistol grip.  The top of the receiver has a carrying handle and integral picatinny rail for mounting rear sights, or any optical accessories.  The AR-12 12 gauge shotgun is appropriate for all levels of hunting and sporting enthusiasts.  Comes packaged in a nice commercial box with 2 mags and manual as seen above.  Removable A-2 style carry handle allows for quick conversion to a flat top.  Chambered for 2 3/4" or 3" Magnum loads. These are just really cool.

Important Please Read - It has been our experience that these shotguns may be finicky, particularly when new,  as to what loads they may function best with or be able to cycle consistently. They almost certainly will require a break in period and tend to only like high brass, heavy load shells right out of the box. In fact, in our limited test firing we were only able to achieve consistent cycling while using high brass 3" heavy loads. Please see video.

While the owners manual says that these may require a break in period in order to cycle all shells properly, we are uncomfortable with the vagueness of those instructions and frankly were on the verge of not carrying the product at all. Ultimately we would like for any firearm we carry to cycle perfectly with all ammo chambered for that firearm right out of the box and we certainly do not have any indication based on our own testing that these will do so. On the other hand, others are carrying this item and we have had many request from our customers asking when we will offer it as well.
Also, there seems to be a basic understanding in the firearms community that these types of firearms requires a certain amount of break in or are selective in their load preference.

As such, we did decide to carry the firearm, but to offer it at a great price, and to sell them As - Is, with A No Returns Accepted Policy.

Bottom line - If you are uncomfortable in taking a chance on this firearm working properly, with the shells that you may want to use, then do not buy it.

So is there any warranty - Well that is a good question. The manual included with the AR-12 states that this firearm has a Limited Warranty for a period of one year through the manufacturer. It reads " The manufacturer to the original retail purchaser a Limited Warranty for a period of one year from the date of purchase against defects in material or workmanship It will be discretion of the manufacturer / importer as to wheather the parts/labor or replacement will result in a charge to the consumer. The importer/manufacturer has a right to research, inspect, and test the weapon to assess any claim made under the warranty. "

In other words, if you buy it, and there are issues, we will not take it back or offer refunds and frankly I wouldn't expect much help from the manufacturer..... They are in Turkey for heavens sake so how is that suppose to work....

Still, I had a great time shooting this firearm once I found the shells that it liked, and I am very confident that it would have broken in and gotten less finicky over time had I continued to shoot it... Personally, having handled the shotgun extensively now, I would be very comfortable in taking a chance on it... however, I am not saying that you should.... the choice is yours.

Note -  this is the 2nd generation of these shotguns and we are told by the importer that they have has some gas system improvements to make them even more reliable with a wide array of shell and charges. The previous generation of these had barrels threaded for and came supplied with choke tubes, however these did not. As such the original video shows choke tubes but please know that these Do Not Come With Choke Tubes Nor Will They Accept Them.

I really was surprised at the low cost and the Ar style this rifle offered. Taking it out to the range for the first time I was really impressed that I got it to cycle 2 3/4 inch shells out of the box. Can't wait till the next range time with this and hope to put at least 100 rounds through it and see how it runs. Turkey season is next week I can't wait to get out in the field and take a turkey with it, just ot be different.

I was skeptical about purchasing this gun recently but I just felt like I had to get myself a Christmas present. I started off shooting one clip with 3" turkey loads and one clip with 2 3/4" low brass and all 10 rounds fed great! So I decided to try to get it to jam or do something. I shot somewhere around 75-100 low brass 2 3/4 mixed brands of 6-8 shot rusty ol shotgun shells that's been laying around for years while shooting clays. I had zero problems with it feeding or ejecting shells I was shocked and a few of my buddies were as well. I also used an 870 super mag which didn't eject 2 shells out that day due to the rust on them just to give you an idea how bad they were. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if they still had them in stock. And I was very satisfied how well it did shooting clays. Will update if any problems come about. 270 more clays to shoot this weekend. Plan on getting the Barrel tapped for chokes in near future.
Great product

I purchased and shot this GEN 2 version firearm today and was pleasantly surprised. After reading several reviews including those done by Classic Firearms in a very fair and balanced evaluation, I felt that I was making an informed purchase, expected some periodic issues and looked at it as more of a novelty. May not be a novelty for my use now though.

I ran 80 rounds through this shotgun without a single failure period. This GEN 2 version recommended using standard loads for the break-in period and as was mentioned in the Classic review and in the instructions. The GEN 1 version stated that heavy loads may need to be used in the break-in period before using lower power loads reliably and have obviously addressed some of these issues in this new version.

I started off running 50 rounds of CHEAP #7 2-3/4” low brass then 25 rounds of mid-grade #4 high brass and finished with 5 rounds of quality 00 buckshot. All ran perfectly.

The new front sight is removable as mentioned in Classic Firearms review but has a feature that was not mentioned or I just missed it. The front sight has four (4) different post options that can indexed into position without the use of tools and can be done in about a second to suit your preference. One is a basic post, a small aperture in the middle of a larger flat tab, a U-shaped notch and finally a small tube shaped aperture. The rear has a U-shaped notch and a standard round aperture.

I plan on breaking the gun down for a thorough cleaning and will probably use a small amount of blue thread locker on the fastener for the stock as well as the rear sight mounting screws since there have been a few owners that have experienced them coming loose. They may have never been tightened correctly from the beginning and everything is still tight on mine.

The only issue that I have to report is one magazine will not insert easily at all. After looking carefully it appears that the mag is slightly bent or stamped poorly and measures slightly more from one corner to the other than the other two corners. I will return it and have it replaced.

I will continue to shoot this gun and run every brand and available load I can find and see what happens but if it hasn’t given me problems out of the box, doubt I will.
The AR-12 is an awesome shotgun

Despite the various reviews, I couldn't resist trying this shotgun out. It came completely coated in storage grease so the fist thing I did was completely disassemble the shotgun, clean and lube it. This was a good opportunity to learn how the gun functions. I also took the barrel to a local gunsmith and had the barrel threaded for RemChokes. When I finally got the gun back together and shot it, It functioned flawlessly. The only issue was with the bolt release after loading a new mag. It doesn't a super clean release like an AR would so slamming it with your palm caused it to attempt and chamber the next round with less force causing a failure to feed. Simply pulling back on the bolt handle and releasing did the trick. It's best to just press the bolt release with your thumb. It fired 2-3/4" 7-1/2 1o shot and 00 buck without any cycling issues. BUY THIS SHOTGUN. Anyone know of compatible replacement or extended mags?

Right out of the box, we ran 100 rounds of low brass target loads through it. NO PROBLEMS with the weapon firing. The only downfall is the stock coming lose, and the front sight sliding forward. After some cleaning and lock-tight, problem solved. I will report back after we hit 1000 rounds through. I am loving this weapon! Thank you Classic firearms!

Bought my AR 12 before you had them available (sorry Ben). Bought 250 Federal Power Shok 23/4 in 1oz slugs. No break in No miss fire No FFF, goes bang every time. Recoil is a lot less than my pump action 12 gauge which makes it a comfortable shooter even after 30 plus rounds per session. Red dot sight yields very small group at 50 yds. I may have lucked out but I can't find whats not to like with mine. I think I'm going to take you up on your ridiculously low price and do some early Christmas shopping. Paid a lot more for mine and l love it.

was leery about buying after watching video of review I really liked the m16 style of this gun so I took a chance I have no regrets one jamb out of 100 shells I absolutely love it recoil is smooth action is quick and man ole man it will rock, the biggest reason I bought this gun was because of the video classic fire arms did he was honest that's a plus !!!!!!

Plenty kick
Review by Dawan S on 1/18/2016
Quality
First off this gun really has kick if you're used to 5.56 or 7.62. I have no problem with the recoil because I like it that way. I had 2 malfunctions with both Winchester and Remington slugs. It was weird because they were high velocity and these guns usually run fine as long as you use that ammo. Well after polishing it up and the feed ramp, problem solved. I wasn't worried about it as I never shoot low powered buckshot, just slugs and occasionally double 00 buck. This handled really well though, and the faces when they heard the boom at the range was priceless.
An absolute steal
Review by Dan on 1/16/2016
Quality
These guns are an absolute bargain. I've been in the market for a semi-auto shotgun but couldn't bring myself to pay VEPR prices and the Catamount Fury is supposed to be cheap Chinese junk. I was immediately impressed with the fit and finish of this gun when I opened it. The front sight was canted but all I had to do was loosen screws and readjust. The gun feels extremely solid. I purchased 12 shell mags from an online armory. I put 45 shells through it today. Not a single jam or issue. Many of the screws need Locktite or tightened periodically. In my opinion, this is one of the best gun deals I've ever encountered.
Yeah, this rifle is worth it.
Review by TGM on 1/6/2016

After cleaning and repeatedly disassembling and reassembling my AR-12, I can now Field Strip the rifle in 15 second and reassemble in 20 seconds. With that being said, the AR-12 is maintenance friendly.
Note: The lever in front of the magazine well must remain in the flipped forward position during disassembly and close after the rifle is fully assembled. Never lock the bolt to the rear without the barrel in place, there is a potential of breaking the ammo guide if the lever is the closed position and the bolt accidently slams forward rendering the rifle useless. This is also covered in the manual.
I removed the Front Sight which I found that fake gas tube was only for cosmetic purpose but functional if used with the Carry Handle for sight alignment, in my opinion, the combination of both Front and Rear Sight make the rifle look cartoonish. I also replaced the plastic Carry Handle with a quality Hologram Sight, this made the rifle look more tactical and sight alignment dependable. In My own personal preference, I like to coat all the moving parts of the action with STP Motor oil minus the trigger mechanism. After prepping the rifle for the range, it was time to fire some Slugs with the Skeet and Modified Chokes. After pounding and bruising my shoulder with 75 rounds of 2 ¾ and 3 inch Remington Slugs, I decided to use a box 7 ½ light loads. The AR-12 fired flawlessly with only one jam. I would recommend this rifle to anyone. I will use this rifle for deer hunting next season.
If you buy a PW ARMS AR-12, get familiar with it and you will have a great time with it. It is well worth the money.
Okay for what you pay for.
Review by TGM on 1/5/2016
Quality
The first thing I did when I received my AR-12 was completely disassemble it and understand the how it operated. The instruction book that it came with was okay if you have good mechanical skills. I would recommend seeking assistance if you are a novice in weapons maintenance and disassembly. The AR-12 was very dirty out of the box, I guess that was from testing the rifle for operation before shipment.
The AR-12 is not Gas Operated as describe in the manual. What appears to be a Gas Tube on top the barrel extending from the Front Sight is actually a part of the Handguard Retaining Cap. There is no Buffer like that in an AR-15 and Buffer Spring and the Bolt Slide assembly is located in the Hand Guard below the barrel which rides on a rod fixture.
The AR-12 is actually Recoil Operated. The expansion of gas from the fired shell pushes the bolt assembly to the rear and cycle the next round into the chamber. Since there is no gas tube on the barrel, the recoil from the expended shell is used to cycle the action of the rifle.
To properly install the Barrel Mounting Spacer it is recommended that the Front Sight be removed. Mark the Barrel and the Front Sight mounting ring with an alignment mark to properly reinstall the Front Sight to the original position.
The Lower Receiver Assembly is made of a High Impact Polymer (plastic). The Safety Switch can be easily broken if aggressive handling is used. The Pistol Grip cannot be removed because it is molded as one assembly. To separate the Upper Receiver from the Lower Receiver, the buttstock must be removed. To remove the Bolt Assembly from the Lower Receiver, you must align the Bolt Slot on the side with the Charging Handle then pull the Charging Handle straight out. By doing this, the Bolt, Bolt Slide Carrier and Buffer Spring can be removed.
The Upper Receiver is made of Aluminum Alloy and it is built and fits well the Lower Receiver. The Carry Handle or Rear Sight is made of High Impact Polymer (plastic). I replaced it with an AR-10 Carry Handle to give the rifle a more reliable sight adjustment and a robust appearance.
The Hand Guard is made of a High Impact Polymer (plastic). I have to admit that it looks great on the Rifle. Removing and installing it is very easy.
Overall this Rifle seems to be built well for what you pay for, my total price to include Shipping and Transfer Fees was only $445.00 dollars. So is it worth the money? I would say yes for those who are AR-15 Platform Enthusiast but don’t expect the mechanical operation to be the same.

delivered in a timely manner considering the holidays, could not wait to shoot and loaded 5 rounds and fired great . very fun to shoot and well made for the price you won't beat it. I bought this AR-12 from Classic Firearms and am very pleased. In the video, the owner says to work some 3 inch high brass through it to get it 'worked in', but my work buddies and I shot 100 rounds of Estate 2 3/4 and Federal 2 3/4 last month and I didn't have any failures. It looks really cool and shoots like a beast!

I own the mka 1919 and this gun and they are exactly the same minus the price. The leader arms one is actually better because it has a lever to lower the feed ramps on the front of the mag well to protect them when dissasembling the gun. If you slam the bolt foward when taking the gun apart you can damage the feed ramps and destroy the gun. It likes shells with high brass and 1200 fps and up. I. Use rio royal buck and estate and they feed the five rounds with no jams. After about 500 rounds the gun now cycles low velocity shells too without problems. The videos on youtube on how to take the mka 1919 apart apply to this gun. Same construction just the butt stock is two pieces and the leader arms version has that lever in the front of the mag well(flip up while taking apart and leave down while assembled)

First off I would like to say that Classic did an excellent job all around, great company. Now, this shotgun is great, a lot lighter than i expected, and mine actually came with 4 chokes, not 3! Had some trouble early on with lighter loads which I completely expected by Classic's disclaimer (about 2/10 rounds had a FTE or FTF due to not cycling completely) but after running some heavy rounds through it (manufacturer said 100 but I only needed about 60) it cycled perfectly and I have had zero trouble with it since. In short, great gun, great price, great seller!
Easy fix, perfect gun now

Found the problem with mine, magazine springs were too long causing to much pressure when feeding causing a jam on 4th round frequently.. I hope this will help some of you out if you are having problems.. This gun will shoot anything now 100% and as fast as you can pull the trigger.. I took 2-3 inchs out the springs. Another problem I found is that the buttstock will come loose, need to locktite it..You can switch the handrail around however you like it. I feel the gun is worth twice as much once fixed..

Ammo is paramount for this shotgun. Federal Premium 2 3/4 7 1/2 shot at about $8.00 25 rds(Walmart) a box is about the cheapest you can get to run without failure and consistent. Gun requires tightening on the front sights and the stock 8mm. After about 150 rds it seems to eat anything. Five stars to Classic Firearms for a nice price and fast shipping!!! Watch the video - it is spot on!!!

I have purchased several weapons from Classic Firearms and yet to be disappointed. I purchased Molot Verp 12 and saw the AR -12 on the same page and bought them both. The Verp shot flawlessly out of the box. The AR 12 had a slight feeding issue with one out of five in each mag not feeding properly with good 00 buck. Went home and lubed the mags and reloaded both mags with 00 buck and back to the range a few times and no issues. Also bought the 10 round Russian mag, expensive but it works.
My son and I have FFL/SOT and may make one of them a post sample SBR/ select fire just for grins. If I do I'll send a video.
Thanks again Classic Firearms!

Greetings,
I took my new AR-12 out to my range today for a run thru. The ammo used was Winchester Super X 3" no.4 shot. No issues with the ammo at all. I did experience a few minor issues. The little plastic trap door on the pistol grip fell out, I fixed it with super glue.

The front sight has 3mm set screws that hold it tight to the barrel. They came loose, but that was an easy fix as well. You may want to check yours before you shoot it. I gave this weapon some of my blood when I cut my thumb loading the shells in the mag. No biggie either, as the springs are stiff and need to be broken in.
The gun shoots excellent. I ran 25 shells thru before I stopped. It ran flawlessly. This gun is a blast to shoot. I have a Mossberg 500 and this weapon puts in to shame as far as the fun factor is concerned. I had a ball shooting it. I'm going to run at least 100 shells thru the pipe before I try the lighter loads.

I first saw this gun 2 years ago and the gun shop wanted $800 bucks for it. When I saw Classic had them for under $400, it was a no brainer. This gun can be tricked out too. This is a fun gun, and a great value. Classic Arms came thru. Fast service and shipping. Thanks Classic.

Exactly as described.. Gun only runs heavy loads, it does jam on the 4th round in mags very often with both.. I am thinking it is a mag problem, the gun seems to grab the 4th and last round at the same time.. Gun is exactly as described but I think it will be a easy solution
Great Gun,But remember 3 box,s of light loads to start for break in period or it will not run correctly, after that your good to go!

I have one of these and the little brother of it the MKA 1919A 12 gauge ,at first it will jam for 2 to 3 boxes now and then,Use No7 load 2 ,3/4 inch shells as the parts have to seat together after that its a Hoot to shoot no jams or issues, also do not fire shells with no choke tubes in as that will destroy the barrel threads for the choke tubes inside the barrel,Your gonna love this one as recoil is not bad at all for a 12 gauge and you can stay on target,Buckshot shoots awesome as do slugs and it is devastating if your on the business end,Id hate to be that guy,I use it to mow me a path thru thick foliage out deep in the woods,Get one just break it in right or you will be unhappy with it.

  • Brutus' Description

    Out of the box

    Greetings,
I took my new AR-12 out to my range today for a run thru.
