This Firearm Will Go Live on The Site for Sale at Noon E.S.T. on Monday Dec 8, 2025. This is an original Ruger 9mm Police Patrol Carbine that I purchased from a friend of mine around 25 years ago. At that time these were hugely popular, and it is easy to see why. The carbine used a simple blow back action with a heavy steel bolt to minimize recoil and insure reliable feeding. The idea of this rifle at the time was to market to police and patrol divisions many of which had gone to the Ruger P85/89 pistol as their official sidearms. This would provide the officer with the additional advantages of a rifle that used the same mags and fired the same rounds as their sidearms, but with increased accuracy and ballistic advantages. With an overall length of just under 35 inches and a weight of 6-pounds, the P.C. was ideal for being stored in a passenger seat gun rack, or trunk.
The longer sight radius, coupled with the increase in velocity when fired from a 16-inch barrel, meant the carbine was capable of accurately taking 100-yard shots with standard pistol caliber ammunition. Dovetail rear sights and a built in base for optics gave the PC a quick and easy sight picture, and the thick, durable polymer stock used exclusively for this rifle was advertised as being ‘cop-proof.’ The Ruger P.C.9 in this variant was manufactured from 1996 until 2007, and while never establishing a strong foothold in the Police market, it gained a very loyal following among civilian shooters. Personally, it has always been one of my favorite go to carbines for carry or plinking at the range. It is lightweight, well balanced, and extremely accurate while still being a robust and practically fail proof firearm. These days they have somewhat of a cult following and are a little difficult to find. No factory box for this one but it does come with the original 15 round P-85 mag. Shoots great, just load up the mag with your favorite 9mm ammo and go. Condition is excellent and bore is like new. Rifle ships in bubble wrap for maximum protection. - This rifle has been represented here through images and description with 100% accuracy as I know it and if you are not comfortable buying it based on this information Do Not Make the Purchase. All sales are final on this rifle. The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this rifle in inventory, you will know that it has sold.
