The Hornady 98172, also known as the Rapid Safe, is designed using advanced Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for immediate, hassle-free access. It allows you to open the safe by simply placing the provided RFID bracelet, card, or key fob over the reader. Once activated, the Rapid Safe springs open, presenting your handgun.

This safe meets and exceeds the standards set by the Astm International for youth-resistant firearm containers, offering high levels of protection against both child access and unauthorized entry. Aside from the RFID bracelet, card, or key fob, the safe can also be unlocked using a user-programmed code. Additionally, there's the option of a traditional key lock for opening the safe.

The Hornady Rapid Safe is powered by standard 110V household power, ensuring your firearm is securely stored and promptly accessible round-the-clock. The model is even equipped with a battery backup which can serve as the main power supply. On opening, the safe's internal Rapid Sleeve showcases your handgun at the perfect angle for quick and easy retrieval.

The Rapid Sleeve can be removed to accommodate most revolvers with barrels up to 4 inches in length. The safe comes with a wall power supply, an RFID wristband, two stickers, a key fob, two circular barrel keys, and a security cable. Interior dimensions are 9" x 7.7" x 2.2", making it ample space for storing a variety of handgun sizes.
