Shopping Suppressors: No License Required
Suppressors are classified as NFA items, requiring additional paperwork to purchase. However, you do not need an FFL / SOT or a Class 3 license to own a suppressor.
In fact, you can buy a suppressor as long as you meet the following criteria:
- You must be 21 years or older
- You must not be a prohibited possessor
- You must live in a state that allows suppressor ownership
Pretty simple, right? As long as you are of the proper age and are not a convicted felon, you are eligible to purchase a suppressor at the federal level.
