Wilson Combat 298S Beavertail Grip Safety High-Ride 1911 Style Stainless Steel

The Wilson Combat 298S offers you an effective way to enhance your 1911 Auto's comfort and control. The High Ride Beavertail Grip Safety enables the positioning of your shooting hand closer to the bore's plane, distributing recoil over a broad and rounded surface for an improved experience. The grip safety disengagement is assured by our unique raised Posi-Release tab located at the bottom of the High Ride Safety. This also serves as a grip memory point for each pistol draw. A hammer pocket at the top of the High Ride Safety allows a commander or a bobbed spur hammer to sit down in the beavertail while cocked, thereby making the pistol more snag-free.

Please note that a frame modification is necessary for the installation of a Wilson High Ride (#298) beavertail. Cutting the frame to accommodate the beavertail is required. Our custom beavertail fitting jig can be mounted to the hammer and thumb safety pin holes, and will serve as a convenient guide while filing, to prevent any excess cutting of the frame. Once this cut is made, only minor touch-ups will remain for the final fitting. Comprehensive instructions will be provided explaining how to utilize the fitting jig and how to correctly install a Wilson's beavertail grip safety.
