The Cimarron MP421 harks back to the iconic Peacemaker design of 1873, aimed initially at serve the U.S Cavalry but promptly taking a leading role as a symbol of frontier life. Sporting powerful chamberings and different barrel lengths, this infamous sixgun also stylized 'hogleg', 'smokewagon', and 'equalizer'. In private ownership, it gained fame for its toughness, powerful impact, and comfortable balance, dominating sales in the revolver market. Historical figures like Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, John Selman, the James-Younger gang, the Daltons, and even the Texas and Arizona Rangers were known to carry this weapon, cementing its legendary reputation.
As the era of film dawned, the Model P found its way into the cinematic world where it was brandished by Western legends such as John Wayne, Roy Rogers, Hopalong Cassidy, Tom Selleck, Clint Eastwood among others, cultivating a long-lasting fascination with shooting enthusiasts and Old West aficionados alike.
Regarded as the most accurate and superior reproduction of the 1873 Colt, Cimarron's replica was meticulously recreated from every detail of an original 1873 single action in our antique collection, steering clear from simply replicating from sketches as done in previous reproductions. In our attempt to improve the reliability of this timeless piece, we introduced our Cowboy Comp action, which addresses and removes the vulnerabilities connected with the design of the 19th century.
The Model P is available in the standard 7 1/2, 5 1/2 or 4 3/4-inch barrel lengths. Buyers have the option of the pre-1896-style Old Model, with the Cylinder base pin screw located in the front of the frame, or the post-1896 Pre-War frame, with the Cylinder base pin retaining screw found on the side of the frame, in front of the Cylinder.
