The Cold Steel 49KST, also known as The Steel Tiger, expertly modernizes the traditional Indonesian Karambit tactical design. This superb knife is the result of a creative partnership between Lynn C. Thompson and the late Steven Likarich. Their goal was to keep all the most admired attributes of the iconic hooked blade and blend it effortlessly with innovative materials and sophisticated design elements.

The Steel Tiger touts a deeply curved, needle-sharp blade made from AUS 8A stainless steel. To ensure maximum strength, cutting efficiency, edge retention, and performance, the blade undergoes a process of vacuum heat-treatment and sub-zero quenching. Further enhancing its features, the blade is taper-ground and given a stone wash finish.

A unique feature of this knife is its durable Griv-Ex core handle, which fully encloses the tang and extends out forming the bolster, thumb-shelf, and a distinctive finger ring. The core is then over-moulded with top-quality Kray-Ex injection, resulting in a remarkably secure and slip-free grip. Even under cold or wet conditions, you can trust this handle not to let you down.

Your safety and convenience are paramount, so the Steel Tiger is equipped with a Military style Secure-Ex sheath. The sheath can easily be attached to your gear or worn on your body using the detachable boot/belt clip.
