Yes, I know this is not surplus, but I have a few commercial offerings that I have had for a long time sprinkled in here as well. Some folks call the H&K USP 40 the finest .40 S&W handgun ever made. I'm sort of in that camp myself as I absolutely love this pistol. My go to for carry has always been a Glock but every time I hold this pistol in my hand I marvel at the quality that H&K put into the gun. In fact, I wouldn't let it go but I actually have 2 of these and I can't shoot but one at a time, so it falls into the let it go category. According to the date code this pistol was manufactured in 1994, and I have probably had it pretty much since then. During that time, I may have put 2 or 3 mags through it and then cleaned it and put it away. Again, my EDC has always been some variation of a GLOCK, so this was primarily a safe queen and as such, it still looks just like it did new in 1994. That goes for the bore as well which is bright and shiny and looks like brand new. This is the V1 model meaning that it has the combination safety/decocking lever mounted on the left-hand side of the frame. You can still buy this same gun new today 30 years later and very few changes have been made over the years because the design was pretty much perfected from the get-go. Pistol comes with its 2 original 13 round mags and the original owner's manual in the factory case. The following information is directly from H&K regarding the specs and characteristics of this pistol.
The back story. Over the last 30 plus years in the gun business I have acquired some really nice surplus firearms. These guns came from Gun Shows, private collections, and private individuals that I have met along the way, as well as, on occasion, what I would deem as the best of a particular lot when it came in here to Classic. Well, all good things must end and at this point in my life it is time to downsize a little and that includes letting go of some of these "Gun Safe Queens" that I have typically only pulled out to clean ever so often. Now don't get me wrong, there was a time when I would not have even considered giving up one of these firearms as they have been very special to me. However, my daughters show no interest in inheriting them, and at this point in my life I've decided that I would rather see them in the hands of folks that would relish them, than to have them to continue sit in a dark safe here at Classic. Each gun from my private collection is unique and they will sell individually by serial #, so when that gun is gone, it is gone and irreplaceable. At least from me. If you no longer see this pistol in inventory, you will know that it has sold.
