The Hogue 24177, also known as the Microflip, stands out due to its impressive features. This includes Hogue's strong button lock mechanism, which is complimented by a unique, patent-pending blade retention device.
This particular design element securely holds the blade in its closed position. This distinctive feature allows for the accumulation of stored kinetic energy, which eventually leads to the deployment of the blade. Also, with an intuitive press of the lock button, the knife can comfortably be closed using only one hand. This eliminates the need to put fingers in the way of the closing blade, a common issue with standard liner lock flippers.
An interesting aspect of this knife is that it doesn't contain any springs. Despite being a manually operated flipper, its performance is surprisingly comparable to that of an automatic knife.
