Zastava Arms

Hey everybody. Clint here with Classic Firearms and we're coming at y'all today with a video all about one of my personal favorite brands, Zastava Arms. And they have been around for a little over a century, actually. In 1853, they were founded when they first cast a couple of cannons. Four cannons, four 4 pound cannons I think, and a couple of howitzers, thus founding Zastava Arms. Since then in Serbia, their manufacturer has been blown up and destroyed throughout many years, World War II especially. But it was actually quickly fixed and repaired and still producing firearms today. In January of 2019, Zastava Arms USA became a thing and they've separated their ties from Century and they started their own importation for U.S. sales. And we've got just a few firearms here that they offer to the U.S. market and I'm happy that they do. My first AK purchase was at Zastava, the MPAP, I forgot the number designation now. But since then they've grown up quite a bit and now they're making AKs like this guy here, or I should say AK variants, and this is their M70. I'm going to say this is probably their flagship rifle. This is their base model, which I absolutely love with that wood furniture and everything else. I love the wood grip on it. The aesthetic of it just looks old school calash and I love it. Now what's really cool that they've done recently with their M70s, they've added the chrome-lined barrel. Awesome. They gave it a bulged trunnion now, which is at 1.5 millimeters thick, I think. And just, goodness gracious, this thing is sweet. Now this is not the mag that it comes with. They typically come with a 30-round mag, yes, but this is just one of the metal mags I had laying around. The mags that I've all tried in this gun all fit really snug in the gun, which I am definitely a huge fan of. And again, that chrome-lined barrel and everything, as you can tell this is one of our last round bold hold-open mags. There we go.

Zastava M91

But yes, everything about this guy is just awesome. Now they're also known, and we've given away at least one of these guys here, this is the M91, which is in my mind, the M70 stretched out. So it still has that bulged trunnion. Still has the chrome-lined barrel, but it's chambered in 7.62x54R, not 7.62x39, and is obviously made for a little bit more distance. And it resembles the PSL to me because it's still the long-stroke piston system, not the short stroke-system, like in the Dragunov, but they also added polymer furniture on this guy. The polymer thumbhole stock, which is nice because it cuts down a little bit on weight, but you've also got to picatinny rail here for any type of attachments you want to throw on it. Nice long barrel for those accurate distance shots. And this package here does come with the 4x24 optic on it, which is again, I really love the aesthetic of this rifle and it shoots very well. Feels great to shoot. And it's chambered in 7.62x54R, which is a phenomenal round that has also been around for a very long time, definitely over a century. When did that round come out? It's been a long time. All right. But anyway, huge fan of this rifle.

Zastava Pistols

And they also make some pistols, not just like your standard pistol like this, but also AK pistols. We'll talk about that guy here in just a moment. But since I got this one in my hand, this is what they call the CZ999, or the EZ9 to shorten it a little bit. And I really like this pistol, reminds me a little bit of a SIG, but it has some different features on it, which I typically don't see a whole lot of. First off, just go on basic off of looks, I really like the two-tone slide and frame. I think that just looks really good. You got the picatinny rail up underneath. This is also 9mm by the way. And also, the slide release is ambidextrous. But it's not just a slide release, it's also a decocker for the hammer. So you'll notice, you could probably see it moving there, as I move it down, it decocks the hammer too, which I think is actually pretty nifty. All right. So pretty cool. It is a double action/single action. And we can check out that trigger pull. Does come with a 15 round mag. Nice. Go ahead and check this guy out here. Single action, you'll see what we've got just a little bit of take-up before we hit that wall. Apply a little bit more pressure, ooh, that's nice and short. I like that. Let's see what the reset feels like on it. There we go. A little long, but not bad. Let's see what the double action feels like. So double action is going to be a little bit heavier in pull. Longer take-up. It's nice and smooth. I will say that. So it feels good. And I like it overall, especially for a nice affordable pistol coming from the Zastava.

Zastava ZPAP85

Now speaking of pistols, let's stay on that same track. And they got AK pistols too, which still have that bulged trunnion, which I am a huge fan of. And this is the ZPAP85. All right? They also make the 92. The 85 is chambered in 5.56. The 92 is chambered in 7.62. And I really like the fact that they added this dark walnut wood to it. It just looks really good on this gun. You got that crank style flash hider on it, or muzzle device, I should say. And overall, just a really cool gun. Now, this is a pistol and it is coming with the SB Tactical, A3 brace that is nice and snug on here. But you'll notice too, that it has the buffer assembly back here, so if you wanted to throw on any other type of AR brace or, or a stock if you want to SBR this gun, you can. Now I know there's also a large debate happening right now, or, not even a debate. There's a lot of things happening around pistol braces. And we'll try to keep you guys informed the best that we can right now. But, as far as filming this video today, braces are still a go and you don't have to SBR them. All right? Yeah, it really sucks. All gun laws are an infringement. Anyway, SB Tactical SBA3 braces is on this design right here. It comes with a 30-round mag, again, chambered in 5.56. And yes, it being chambered in 5.56, might seem like a blasphemous thing to do to all you AK guys out there, but it's a lot of fun. Let me just tell you guys, it's a lot of fun to shoot this guy. And it being 5.56, it's light recoiling, not much more of a muzzle flash out there, but it's a good time. They also have a hinged dust cover with the picatinny mount integrated, which I am liking a lot. Because if you wanted to throw a red dot on this guy, you can, or any other type of optic. And because it's hinged, you don't have to worry about losing the zero anytime you want to remove your dust cover or having shifts or something like that. That's a solid, solid setup there. I cannot get that dust cover to wiggle or anything. So if you do need to have an optic on there to hold zero, you don't have to worry about losing it. Again, I'm a huge fan of that and I like that they do that. So overall, very cool. And like I said, the ZPAP92 is also the 7.62x39 version of this gun.

Zastava M93 Black Arrow

Another gun that they make that we don't have on the table is the M93 Black Arrow. And we gave that one away. And that one was the .50-cal, bolt-action, magazine-fed behemoth that came in like this coffin. And if you're in the Classic Firearms buyers group, the winner of that gun actually posted a video of himself shooting that guy. And so happy to see that of course. So, if you're watching this video man, first off, thanks for submitting your footage. And for all of our previous winners and our future winners, make sure you guys are hitting us up and sending in that footage. I'll be emailing our winners when I get the time, asking for that footage. That way we can throw it up on our social media and all. But it was cool to see you add that in there in the buyer's group. And if you guys aren't familiar with what the Classic Firearms buyer's group is, it's not a secret, but it is a closed Facebook page only for Classic Firearms customers. So go over there, enter in the questions that we have, and we'll approve you. And then he can enter the circus that is that page. It's a lot of fun. Speaking of which, one other thing I want to talk about guys is, we will never ever reach out and DM any of you, asking for credit card information or notifying you that you won one of our giveaways, especially if that giveaway isn't over just yet. So if you are receiving these fraudulent messages, direct messages from a page that looks to be Classic Firearms, it's most likely not a page. It's probably a actual profile. Go ahead and report that as fraud, spam, whatever the options are for you and hopefully Facebook will do its job and actually these fraudulent profiles. Anyway, with that being said, Zastava Arms is a phenomenal manufacturer in Serbia. They have a defense contract in Serbia and also have, of course, a lot of guns coming to the U.S. for purchase over here in this market, and I hope they keep it up. I'm glad to see that they went independent and are their own importers now. And yeah, I still have my Zastava AK that I love to shoot, of course. And I don't know, man, I am a huge fan of this M70 and that classic wood look and everything. I think it just looks beautiful. And of course, they offer also too, the polymer version of this gun. So if you want something a little bit more rugged, you can leave out in the rain and not have to worry about the wood deteriorating on you or anything, check out the polymer series that we have too. More of a synthetic with the Hogue grip and all. Very comfortable to shoot. Nice and ergonomic.

Roundoff

I've talked about some pretty sweet guns here and Zastava Arms, again, founded in 1853 after casting a couple of cannons, that's pretty cool. But speaking of cannons, I got this .50-cal over here. This is the Barrett M107 with the EOTech Vudu optic, 3.5-18 power. This is a phenomenal giveaway. And we've teamed up with Alex Zedra. If you don't know who Alex Zedra is, you probably may have played Call of Duty. She is the operator MARA in Call of Duty. They take all of her looks and everything else and threw them into the video game, which is pretty cool. And she's a streamer, she's a shooter, and she's overall just an all around awesome person. And we worked with her and went and shot this gun and a couple of other guns, and we did a nice friendly competition against each other, a little run and gun. Couple of drills. And if you want to see how that turned out, go check out that video. We also got in trouble that day because we didn't know We weren't supposed to .50s at the range. That is the only reason why I didn't do a mag dump them. But, that doesn't mean it won't happen in the future. Just wait. Anyway, Barrett M107. Head on over to classicfirearms.com. Hit that top banner. It's going to show you all the different ways to get your entries. One of those entry methods is using a code word. The code word is simply ZEDRA. I think it's going to pop up somewhere on the screen here. Z-E-D-R-A. That'll get you 400 entries. And of course, refer your friends and family. Included in this giveaway, thought it was kind of cute just to throw in a signed casing by Alex herself. So, there you go. That'll be sent in your case with your winning of the M107. And of course, future winner of the M107, send us in some footage of you just doing some absolute work with this gun. We would like to see a running gun drill with it as well. If you need help with ammo, I don't know, maybe if you're close by, we'll run into you at Take Aim. All right? Like Adrian in Lexington, North Carolina, who won the M82. I'm going to leave it off there. Again, head to classicfirearms.com to get your entries. Check out all of our Zastava products and their line of inventory. Awesome stuff.
