Hey everybody, Clint with classic Firearms coming at y'all from our new video room, which I'm excited to be in. And today's discussion, and yes, it's going to be a discussion because I want a lot of input from all of you watching down in the comment section to help all of us out that are having issues with ammunition. I know, we're almost done with the first month of 2021 and trying to purchase ammo online is quite a challenge. For any of you that might already be signed up for our notifications, SMS texts, things along those lines, you've probably already run into the issue where you've been notified from us that we've got ammo in stock and it's available.

Steel .223/5.56

Go buy it. Go buy it quick. And yes. Thank you all for flooding the website and yeah, it gets bogged down. It gets slow, but you want to be probably one of the first there so that way you can go in and get your purchase through. But it's rough. I know. And just be patient with the site, be patient with us as we're trying to fulfill as many orders as we can. But really, let's talk about some alternatives to different ammo out there. First off, y'all know me. I love shooting my 5.56/.223 caliber guns, but trying to find some brass 5.56 out there it's rough. I know. Now there are other options out there. For instance, you could run some steel case .223 if you wanted to. I know a lot of people say, hey, don't run still through your AR. You're going to break the extractor or something like that. And you also hear the same people say, hey, if it can't run steel, it doesn't deserve brass. It's some pretty funny stuff. So a lot of most quality firearms, running steel through your stuff isn't going to hurt it, especially if you're not doing it for thousands of rounds. Most of you guys shooting out there anyway, aren't going through thousands of rounds to begin with, even in a few years. So probably not that big of a deal.

12 Gauge

Now granted, if you're out there shooting almost every single day. Yeah. You might see, I guess, you could say expedited ware on your extractor and different parts. But again, it's going to take a lot of shooting over time, just a couple of rounds every now and then it ain't going to hurt you gun, all right? But anyway, what are some other calibers out there that maybe you could look for that is actually available. First off, if you like shooting shotguns you're in luck. Because what I have seen at least coming to the warehouse was quite a few or quite a bit of 12 gauge ammunition available, which I think is great. Because me personally, I do enjoy shooting shotguns, especially if you're doing it either through competition, maybe some trap and skeet, things along those lines. That's a whole lot of fun. Shooting some clay pigeons out there, a lot of fun. And typically not that expensive, as you can still buy a box of shelves relatively cheap, which, awesome. Especially if you're headed out to places like taking training and range, they typically try to keep as much as they can on hand and then shooting a bunch of clays all day, you'll find yourself spending less than a hundred bucks and having a whole lot of fun. So how could you go wrong there? A couple other calibers out there, maybe like some surplus calibers, believe it or not, we actually saw some a 30 Luger come in not too long ago. So if you got one of those cool Swiss Lugers that we've offered before in the past, pretty awesome gun.

7.62

Hey, there you go. Some Swiss Lugers. Some 7.62x25 like what the M57 shoot. Pretty awesome. And also what I've seen quite a bit of inventory of recently, a 7.62x54R, your Mosin cartridge. You're M39 cartridge. So if you do have your Mosin-Nagant you might be in luck and have 7.62 by 54R at hand. Now some other options of course, are like some 7.62x39. We got a large shipment of 7.62x39 and not too long ago. And all of you AKM, SKS guys out there, and maybe even your 7.62x39 chambered AR like the maximum defense review somebody gave away, hey, you're in luck. And they're trying to make that as quickly as they possibly can. All of those really popular calibers are trying to be manufactured and produced as fast as possible, but they're popular and they're hard to come by. Man, what are some of the calendars out there that you're still shooting with? Right now would be a great time to invest in a whole lot of dry fire training. If you're not already doing that, well, I think he might be missing out at your full potential at the range. So make sure you're practicing your dry fire training, things like that. And no. Modern firearms, you're not going to damage the gun by dry fire yet. Some 22s, sure. I get that. But if you're using your everyday Carry nine mil 45, 40, whatever it might be, I can almost promise you, you're not going to be damaging your gun. Now, you've also got other options out there. For instance, I like the Carry nine mil quite a bit. However, it seems like I'm seeing 380 and 40 being a little bit more available. 380 as much, but 40s out there. So maybe you'd be looking at investing in a 40 caliber gun. It's kind of good, I think personally, to have different guns chambered in different calibers because you just don't know what might be available. So if you actually have good storage and a good quantity on hand for each type of firearm that you might be carrying in a everyday Carry situation, then you're probably sitting good. So again, this is just a conversation I'm having with you guys. I know that I haven't been expanding quite as much ammo at the range simply because of ammo getting 2021 or just 2020 part two. So again, I just want to hear from y'all what are y'all doing to try to satisfy that itch that only some range time can scratch? You know what I mean? Granted, my position allows me to get out to the range every now and then, which is great. And I have a lot of fun doing that, but you'll still find me at home dry firing and driving my wife crazy while we're watching some shows. But hey, it's all about practice, training, repetition, muscle memory, things like that. What you should also be doing before you go out, if you are still carrying, make sure your clothes aren't going to be getting and hindering you from a good smooth draw and getting on target. But anyway, what else do we have over here as far as different calibers? Swiss Guards. I don't know if y'all have seen our Swiss sniper up here. Again, these surplus guns and these not so common calibers that are out there, I think would be pretty interesting to talk about and shoot.

Surplus Guns

What surplus guns are y'all shooting right now? Me personally, I do have my M39, 7.62x54R that I do like to take out to the range every now and then and just... I know it sounds kind of funny to say plinking with 7.62x54, but what are you going to do during these times? So if I am out having fun, it's going to be probably most likely surplus. I still have a lot of 30 Carbine from my M1 Carbine, so I don't know. Surplus, I think is a good way to go. And like I said, if you guys are more used to carrying a more common cartridge like 45 or nine, maybe start looking at different types of options that might be available. Again, I want to hear from you guys down in the comment section, because right now it's just a crazy time. And as I've mentioned, and as you guys have asked me in previous live streams, I don't see the ammo getting crisis that we are currently in ending anytime soon. So buy early, buy often. And of course, one of those ways you can do that is by signing up for our SMS text option, which you should see a QR code right over here. You can stop and pause this video if you want. And go ahead and just scan that with your phone. Most of your smartphones already have little option to scan QR. So whatever. Anyway, that'll take you straight up to our website and take you all the way to get signed up for our SMS texts.

Roundoff

And just be aware that all of our SMS text message users or subscribers you're being the first or you are the first to be notified for when we have large shipments of ammo come in. New giveaways going live, things like that. And we are doing giveaways like every week. That's something we like to do here at Classic Firearms. So speaking of which, our current giveaway, the Steyr, no. It's not a Steyr, but it is the SSG 08-A1 308 precision rifle. And it is precise. Especially with that Leupold VX-6HD optics running on top. That thing is sweet. By the way, 308, that is also one that I'm seeing obviously a popular cartridge, but I'm seeing more of it being made in steel case. Again, I don't think steel is going to hurt your gun, especially if you're not shooting it a whole lot. Right now, I don't think a whole lot of people are doing a whole lot of shooting. Granted, if you're like me and just over a course of time you've saved up on like 22, you're probably sitting okay. I still think I have maybe about a couple 10,000 rounds of 22 just laying around, because it's pretty easy to get a 5,000 round box about this size and just put it in a corner somewhere and forget about it. So hey, easy enough, right? And of course there's guns out there, like your AR-15 that you can buy like CMMG conversion kits too. And so that way you can still run 22 through it. Still get pretty good training and practice in with it without having to expend your ever so increasing in value 223 or 556. So look at different options out there. Glock, different Polymer 80. These guys are making interchangeable systems too, just to go from nine to 40, 40 to nine, things like that. So there you go. If your everyday Carry ammo is very valuable to you, which it should be, and you don't feel like shooting it for practice, things like that make sense. Maybe do a caliber conversion. See what's out there for you. So there you go. Different options guys. And like I said, this is mostly just a discussion, just to bring up. Hey, we've got SMS text available and ammo available. We should have a very decent shipment of ammo coming very soon within the next month. So make sure you're checking that out. But also a discussion to start with you guys and everybody that might be looking for options when it comes to training and practice at home, or maybe even something a little bit more available and affordable to shoot out at the range. What do you guys recommend? I'm all ears. I know a lot of our viewers are probably all ears too. So let us know. Also one last time, I'm going to hit on the Steyr giveaway, the SSG 08-A1 behind me, 308 bolt action rifle. Head on over to classicfirearms.com hit that top banner. It's going to show you all the different ways to get your entries. Don't miss out guys. God bless y'all and we'll see you soon. Shop All Ammunition
